Grok 4 is bit out of date right now. Everyone else is 1 or half a generation ahead. Claude's special for coding, especially for being able to keep multiple separate files for coding in its artifact, which helps it give superpowers. Other AI companies dont have that tool. I dont understand why they cant replicate that.

I've used co-pilot in the past as an app. I don't actually run Windows, so I can't attest to it there. But in my experience, it gives sources that don't back up the claims that it's making. Like you can ask it a very specific question and then click on the links that it gives that it used to formulate its response and literally none of them support the response. I find it amazing that people trust these things for medical advice and recipes and things that actually matter.

Is there any competitor in the free-tier that is better than Gemini? I think it gives more accurate answers than ChatGPT on average without telling me that my tirals/tokens expired. Grok isn't capable to render in LeTeX sadly.

Right on cue, here's your every-3-day captcha update. Today's mutation is pretty minor, it's basically the same as the last round of dual square puzzles, except the squares are slightly less regular in a vain attempt to throw off the lowest-intellect bots that can't tell an almost-square from a perfect square. The end result is it's the same thing to humans except now the added humiliation ritual of looking like blurry jpegized crap.

Stay tuned, I'll be back every 3 days to discuss the latest captcha change that fails to reduce bot spam by any significant measurable degree.

Notice to jannies: This is the TECHNOLOGY board and captchas are not only internet technology but tech that directly affects the daily routines of this site. This thread is /on topic/.

It depends on your CPU voltage/frequency curve. Most modern consumer hardware basically comes with a hefty factory overclock to win benchmarks, and preventing it from reaching at all the highest frequencies can do a lot for mitigating temperatures, power consumption, and even improving long-term longevity.

Consumer NVidia GPUs are like this too. The 3090 has insane voltage requirements at the maximum boost speed of 2100+MHz that most gaming models can reach; without limits it would burn itself down. Instead of just using lower power limits, users should limit the maximum frequency, as peak boost speeds are the main responsible for PSU-tripping (and possibly cable-melting for some cards) power spikes.
>>
>>107728497
For some reason default motherboard settings feed too much power which results in overheating. I think they compensate shitty voltage regulations that way. Professional motherboards/bioses are different but depends.
