Honestly, I don't even use scripts on 4chan besides the in-built "extension".I considered installing some 4chan sounds one, forgot to, didn't care.I've just never felt the need to.The closest I've gotten to editing the site is by making a grid-like layout for browsing threads very quickly, and largely ignoring tall posts, which is entirely CSS and ugly as fuck but I've also not cared to fix weird edge cases. I also made a hacky media-only viewing mode but I barely use it now.Oh and the bottom bar, which is also ugly but functional (also only CSS, horrible horrible CSS) for the most part. Ignore those 2 buttons at the top right, there are no buttons, you're a button. One day I might redo these as scripts instead of trying to hack my way around awful CSS abuses. What are THE scripts (and extensions) to install that all the COOL kids are using?

It's over for optical media on PC, isn't it?Buffalo promises to keep creating them for the American market, but it's only a matter of time.https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/storage/japanese-firm-stops-production-of-blu-ray-disc-drives-buffalo-says-there-will-be-no-successors-to-its-current-trio-of-portable-usb-attached-driveshttps://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/storage/another-major-japanese-electronics-firm-exits-the-blu-ray-market-elecom-publishes-notice-of-termination-of-nine-external-drives

I spent forty bucks on an LG M-Disc bluray burner back in like 2019, 5 inch bay version for my fat full tower rigI don't use it all that often but it's there when i need it, mostly for ripping movies and burning music for my mombut it's never failed me or given me problems, and i do plan on getting some m-discs and archiving my important data on themi already have it archived on a hard drive but it's good to have multiple copies in multiple locations you knowplus like, you could nuke a hard drive with a magnet but the m-disc isn't gonna careit's made of rocks
>>108497999>https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/storage/japanese-firm-stops-production-of-blu-ray-disc-drives-buffalo-says-there-will-be-no-successors-to-its-current-trio-of-portable-usb-attached-drivesThe market is consolidating. Demand is still there but low overall. In theory, with the proper firmware, you could turn a game console into a blu ray burner (they already are players) since the violet lasers are also capable of up to 100mW output. There is no real reason to worry too much about it, the lasers are contrary to popular believe extremely durable and it's much more likely that some cheap SMD component on the PCB fails. Also the mechanical parts are very durable but do need maintenance from time to time.
>digital cameras are such a technological dead end that Kodak brought back Ektachrome and swung some deal with Alaris and is now offering more film direct to stills consumers and Pentax and Lomo are putting out film cameras againI guess it shouldn't be a shocker when every "blockbuster" movie looks like ass now because it was shot on digital>what should I buyIt's like guns 30+ years ago. There's enough stuff on the used market that I'd just go buy a nikon or a canon from the 80s or 90s. There are a bunch of cameras with hipster tax on them, like how kar98ks and garands were over priced compared to thirdie country guns, but generally anything that's mostly electronic like those 90s SLRs are free from hispter tax because hipsters generally want>manual dial controls>compact bodies>mechanical film advance levers>muh dials >mechanical actions instead of chip based actions

But hey, if you think d3200 is outdone by a phone, you weren't born with an eye for good photography anyway so swipe away.
I have a film camera, an old point and shoot. I really like taking a pic and moving on, but at the end of the day I do phone + analog. >>108495705Nothing is immune to jeetification. I think people are... badly predicting the effects of AI but at the moment, operations work isn't as easy to just point a handful of Claude agents to churn out solutions. And maybe you're building the clusters running the AI models, etc. A I've had co-workers switch to SWE, also had one come to operations from development. He just liked the work better, was really into hardware and OS stuff. My advice for a long time has been to have some kind of "domain knowledge" beyond programming. You need to be an expert or at least competent in some field other than programming, whether it's banking or biology or law etc. Operations is just a very software-adjacent domain that's usually easy for CS types to get into. (It's often looked down on by "real" programmers nevermind it's a webshitter who can't deploy anything that isn't dockerized)
