Make it run exes so you can run windows apps.
Allow it to have compatibility with all old exes so you get the entire backwards compatibility for all DOS, winx.x games out of the box.
Make it have Aero capabilities with browser windows.
Make .lnk files natively compatible.

Remove all package managers and app stores for normal software (npm allowed, niggerfuckcurl -yourmom is not)
Instead have a few recommended websites where you can download recommended software.
Otherwise you are going to go directly to that software's page to download it for use.

Blackball anyone supporting anything other than Fedora or Debian.
Come up with non-retarded names for specific task versions, such as Fedora Server, Debian Server, or Fedora Server Terminal, Debian Server Terminal.
Updates are rolled out on a quarterly basis bringing back waterfall rather than fuck retard agile dogshit sprints.

Every copy of Linux sold (its no longer free) comes with a free bag of frito lays and a diet mt. dew.

Allow me to use any desktop environment I want with both HDR and VRR support
2 features related to display shouldn't tie me to Plasma or GNOME. I want my desktop to look like Ubuntu 6.10
Also add file grouping to all file managers, I think only Dolphin is capable of doing this (pic related)
Also extra effort on reducing input latency as much as physically possible

This year's Debian Project Leadership election has only ONE candidate and it's a Pajeeta (Sruthi Chandran):
>She is inactive on the mailing lists, and her Salsa profile is private so we can't even see what her coding contributions are.
>She's run for DPL 4 times before; lost each time
>Her entire platform is just about diversity and bitching about cis males
>She intends to formally incorporate Debian in the US, which would force Debian to introduce age verification
Her only claim to fame is organizing DebConf23, an event where a Debian developer literally fucking DIED because basic health & safety measures were not followed.

A much more qualified candidate was hospitalized during the nomination window and couldn't apply in time, yet she has refused to reopen nominations.

Debian is FUCKED unless the Debian developers all vote NOTA (None of the above).

You are bob, I find out everything you know and put it into a bob.md, and commit that to the repo so that claude code can imitate you. I hope this means the CEO will fire you and not me since you can be replaced, but I can't. But you fight back by subtly editing bob.md and replacing information with stuff that looks plausible, but is useless, so the AI couldn't do your job.
Not sure if this is actually happening in China, but funny to think about.

ADHD isn't real and telling kids they have it teaches them that self control is literally impossible for them by nature. It's the tyranny of low expectations.
I was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid because I was normal and couldn't sit still in a classroom all day. I quit taking my pills when I was 12 or so and have literally never had any issues. I would say if anything I have much more ability to focus than my peers. I don't want to dox myself but I'm very successful in life and I work in several fields that require a lot of focus.
If I had to guess, I would say that ADHD is just another racket to sell extremely overpriced drugs to Americans who don't need them, similar to the opioid crisis.
>>
>>108510014
I'm a zoomer and I've bought a few cheap devices meant for singlular tasks. I have an mp3 player to listen to podcasts while I fall asleep so I don't go on the Internet in bed. I don't "need" podcasts to fall asleep but sometimes my ears are ringing pretty bad in silence. I bought a used Kindle to read eBooks. I could just read PDFs on my computer but it strains my eyes after a while and I'm not a consumerist willing to spend thousands on dollars on expensive books. I bought a used ThinkPad specifically for writing that I sometimes use, but I write a lot on my desktop as well. Do I "need" these devices to get stuff done? No, and I don't use TikTok and Instagram on my phone. Me getting distracted is spending 30min on here or YouTube or reading Reuters. But I want to avoid that and these are a low cost option to make it a bit easier by increasing friction between productive/healthy tech use and time wasting. I hate the trademark disposition of this site where millennial losers LARP as 130 IQ super productive "autists" (using it as a costume like a teenage girl on tiktok btw) that don't fall victim to peasant behavior like wasting time online, as if they don't spend hours on here. There is nothing wrong with being realistic about the possibility for distraction when using devices and websites that have billions of dollars invested in maximizing user retention. The mindset for most people buying these things isn't "this cute iPod will cure my ADHD", it's "this could be a quick and cheap method to help kickstart me to be more productive". Which is ironically a much more honest and mature perspective than the millennial supergenius 4chan larpers who have the classic "all or nothing" perfectionist approach to life that plagues the hobby boards of this site. Grow up
>>

>>
>>108517995
I really didn't. Also they are trained to want the quick content this is just how it is. Has nothing to do with adhd at all. Clearly by your lack of understand of what actual adhd is.

The training is just that training it doesn't even need a dopamine hit besides just viewing content any kind of content desu because it can be slightly amusing and engaging. That is how they are training you to constantly want QUICK engaging content.
>>108520097
It is extremely real its just that the average person has fuck all idea how horrible adhd is and they just assume its simply not being able to focus. Every aspect of my life personally suffers from adhd.

Is pen and paper obsolete? I see a some college students taking notes on iPad with a stylus, but most people still take notes by typing. Rarely does anyone take paper notes. Are there advantages to using a stylus and does anybody actually have a use case for this techs?

Dude, I just like being able to remember things I'd otherwise forget. It's not a hobby or lifestyle for some of us. I'm just using the technology we have. Yes, some of those videos are nuts, and some people take it way too seriously (usually girls and fags) but if we have the tech to keep track of information better, it's silly not to.
>>
>>108522187
>can’t ctrl+f pen&paper

I boughted an ipad and it’s actually pretty good for writing
shame that the ipad OS is such locked down trash, I’d really enjoy a full blown mac with the option of detaching the display and using the pen on it
physical notebooks take up too much space
>>
>>108522547
I actually use Obsidian to take notes for most of my college classes, but I pretty much only use folders, markdown, and adding images. I have never gotten into the linking or mind-map stuff. Most of the stuff online seems like "productivity porn" where they are just making themselves busy through note-taking software.

>>108522621
Yeah the hardware seems amazing on the newer ipads but after using an iphone there is no way I could stomach the software limitations. I have a very old Microsoft Surface Pro 3 that I want to try throwing Linux/Gnome on.

it was over a decade now but we still had computers then...i just used paper and I think most people did too

Why does everyone hate Copilot? It lacks some of the breadth of knowledge that ChatGPT has, but makes up for it with problem solving. It works great at solving complex edge case issues in Linux and open source software where there is no chance of getting a real human to help. It also excels at cross domain problems.

People say Copilot is like having HR in the room, but it has no problem recommending extremely violent and sexual films. It will gladly help you setup local AI for what it calls "spicy" RP. One can write or paste sexual and violent material, but it won't respond with any, it can only work around the issue.

It will tell you how it works, help you figure out how other services work, and even give you prompts to determine the capabilities and models of other LLM services and how to replicate that locally. What it won't do is give you internal details of itself.
>>
>>108522768
Back in the old Bing chat days I used to get it to reveal all kinds of internal details. When it was just free unlimited GPT-4 with shitty prompts I used to spend hours fucking with it, coming up with way to do prompt injection etc. I got so much use out of it. But now it's really only good for quick answers to basic questions. It's a relic of the past.
>>
>>108522760
It's a help prompt with a funny character. While the funny character is kinda silly, getting help on using office is serious and you can be certain everything he says is accurate and not "entertaining" gaslighting.

What are people doing for manga? Looking through the archives, I saw people talk about Suwayomi as a downloader, then pointing Komga at the download folder. I might have to stick to 24.04 for a while longer.
There's no monitor or keyboard/mouse connected to the server, just a dummy HDMI output, I can't click the option to allow screen sharing that pops up in a Wayland session.
Unless I can get it to automatically approve my incoming requests for remote desktop and support a shared clipboard, it's going to be a pain in the ass to use.

I wouldnt want to talk to a stupid person who has dementia if I was suicidal but I also wouldn't spill my guts to a chatbot with zero expectation of privacy.
I'll chat to an AI about my problems when it has sonnet 4.6 level accuracy + memory and it's running offline on a computer sitting next to me. Until then I prefer to write my problems down on a piece of paper and talk to myself. But that's just me.
