It's been a few years since its birth, and many people in tech have made similar decisions, mostly because they struggle to find other options. Over the years they have seen this combination of two different worlds nurtured, and regret, anger, relief, and many emotions ensued

Alright well since firefox is doubling down on implementing ai in their browser and theyre completely ignoring their user base professing how they dont want it. Which is the better fork of firefox to flee to? Im considering waterfox or librewolf since both are likely not to implement the new aislop bloat. Recently heard about this floorp browser too but its new to me and idk anything about it. Plus the name sounds gay as fuck which is the only reason im suspicious of it, the name alone already sounds like its begging to be abandoned but thats just my surface level take

I don't get it, why aren't people upgrading your RIG now if you know you'll need to replace it within the next 5 years? Even consoles are going up in price, steam machine is looking to be near $1k and PS5 Pro is $700 for console and prob another $150 for peripherals.

Generational leaps in graphics aren't really gonna happen anymore and the 5090/4090 might last for a decade.

I thought autists are proficient in writing highly efficient and overly complex code
>>
>>107715421
Autists always think in single objects, single operations. Do one thing, do it well. Keep it simple, stupid. They are almost completely incapable of thinking in batches. Which is absolutely retarded since at least 1982, which is the year the 80286 with its protection rings and mode switches released.

And autists just ignored it. NT has almost no batching, so does Linux. And OpenGL. And many DirectX versions. And even when they try to make things better they revert to old patterns, like with Vulkan - you can *bind* resources in batch via vkBindBufferMemory2, but you cannot *create and destroy them*.

(And no, io_uring is not gonna save us, because the file system drivers are all stuck in 1988. That's why openat2(RESOLVE_CACHED) exists.)

>>107715477
Autists are good at optimizing local systems and are completely incapable of reasoning about global ones. Do an strace on some random program, see how many calls to mmap it does for loading in libraries. Every single such call is a potential TLB shootdown.
>>
>>107715368
- It's not shy about breaking backwards compatibility, and it has completely redesigned itself about 4 times.
- Implementation of "extensions" depends 100% on the vendor and there's a matrix of support that you have to consult if you want to know if you can use any of the features from basic to obscure to fundamental.
- The naming conventions aren't a convention. Literally anything goes.
- The names sometimes make literally no sense at all. I forget what, but there's something like "GL_BGRXXX" that it's RGB and is in fact 4 bytes.
- It's not open-source and it's not a library. The name makes literally no sense.
- There's a component language called GLSL that has 7 different versions that all suck in different ways and abuses syntax in ways that make no sense.
- It has the worst documentation of all time.

I'm sure there's more that I don't wish to remember.

In like 1978 elite computer programmers were tasked with writing something that could render a spinning cube. People used it and continue to use it because people use it and it's an industry standard.

No one writes a graphics engine with OpenGL. You consult documentation on a website that hasn't been updated since 1998 and make a bunch of function calls with no classes or namespaces to hook yourself up to the GPU.
Again, it's not a "library", almost nothing involved with making a graphics engine is handled for you. It's like a rusty, shit-smelling pipe that the city zoning laws demand that you use to get fresh water to your kitchen.
>>
>>107715514
>Do an strace on some random program, see how many calls to mmap it does for loading in libraries. Every single such call is a potential TLB shootdown.
No, none of them do, because only munmap or mremap cause TLB flushes.

Can anyone provide any advice on a System Prompt for an ERP companion chatbot?

I want to chat with a chatbot companion over many short SMS style messages, where the bot is capable of comfy how was your day cuddles and headpats chat that comprises the bulk of conversation, foreplay essentially, but over the course of many messages the bot gradually becomes more touchy, then go all the way once ready,

I found that by defining the kind of activities you enjoy, chatbots will immediately jump to do doing all of them at once in one single enormous ridiculous essay to satisfy the prompt, a simple "Hi, Sweetie" being met with "AND THEN WE FUCKED 400 TIMES IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS". Limiting this behaviour is challenging.

I've attempted to build some sort of arousal array listing every possibly activity with array keys noting their lewdness score, from snuggling on the couch to various scenes copied out of hentai.
I've asked the bot to analyse the user response provided and respond only with activities of equal value in the lewdness matrix, and variations of this, so it won't immediately have crazy sex with you every message
The bot is limited to two sentence responses, one is speech, and the other contains italicised actions, to slow it way down and now shit out the entire RP in 5 seconds.

It works in the early fluffy parts of the conversation, but the bot fights with itself every action advancing it like every new development is paradox "the user is holding hands, indicating a low intensity, but is also <x> indicating a high level. Unable to determine which level to apply. Referring to previous messages. The level of handholding is a greater indicator not to elevate level. Unsure". Fiddling with definition of the arrays to include their subsets of lower value and using the maximum lewdness value failed.

The length cap also doesn't work. The bot seems to get stuck ie: hugging you forever in a loop struggling to advance things within the word limit.

How do you guys do it?

New version is out.

Also, why was my previous thread deleted? This is a software-based application explicitly engineered for operation within the computational and telecommunications framework of a handheld mobile device, ok? It is therefore unambiguously situated within the broader domain of contemporary technological systems, infrastructures, and applied digital sciences, and as such relevant to /g/.

Embedded has two different sides: Doing microprocessor stuff with C or something more powerful that runs embedded Linux (or QNX or sth). The latter you use C++ for (or Rust) and is not too bad to get into. Look into Yocto and different Bus technologies like CAN or Ethernet. Qt was also relevant for one of my jobs.

If you're doing microcontroller stuff then you're gonna have to study more. Look into embedded C.

So I just need to do basic tasks like listen to music, stream video, and browse basic websites. Is installing windows 2000 a bad idea? How fucked will I be for drivers?

The reason I want to do this for one, it's botnet free, and two it was the most streamlined of classic operating systems. I really have a boner for Windows 2000 and I just want to know if it's even moderately viable to use in this day and age.
