Now that I have a HDR 1440p monitor... am I supposed to go back to MPC-HC with MadVR instead of using mpv?
No use mpv it just works with HDR
assuming your mpv is reasonably up to date it will default to libplacebo and vulkan and handle hdr and dv and reverse tonemapping gracefully by default. you might want to make sure it can see your icc profile though. just add a line to the config file much simpler than the literal russian spyware that madvr embeds to do the same

I have four drives in RAID 10 that I configured a few years ago. It's put together by a Terramaster enclosure and it has been humming pretty loud off and on lately and audio files playing through foobar2000 occasionally halt for a few seconds. The RAID Manager shows no signs of any problems in the S.M.A.R.T data. What is the solution here? I try to turn it off more often now but it's an important drive in my build.

Any anons into radio stuff? I just like to snoop into radio signals in my area from walkie talkies to police scanners very interestingI've been archiving telemetry data of airplanes in my area constantly hopefully it'll be of use some day or I could even sell it. I hear stuff like Walmart agents on walkie talkies to military codes I have no idea about
I’m sorry, this is the technology board, and I see no programming at all, just electronics. Probably /sci/ or even /b/ would be more appropriate.

>>107856537Another person FILTERED.
>>107856543I was able to make one that just used the built-in number formatter, but when I wanted to make a custom number formatter it turned out to be way too complex. I looked at the implementation source for the built-in one and it was pages and pages and pages of template metaprogramming and dependencies on other parts of the library implementation internals.Compared to making a std::ostream operator<< overload, which is trivially easy.
>>107856600A custom number formatter would be a bit more complicated sure, but it's disingenuous to pretend that you need to implement all the quintillion things the built-in standard library one does. It's also not really fair to compare the formatter string spec with overloading a single ostream operator: one happens partially at compile time, the other entirely at runtime. If you want to do all your logic at runtime you can always just write your own toString() method on your custom type and just pass the string to std::format
>>107856641>A custom number formatter would be a bit more complicated sureHave you tried it? It's way more complicated than you think if you want it to work with std::format.Sure you can write a toString function or method, but then why would you use std::format at that point when you could just use a std::stringstream or something. My point is that std::format / std::print don't need to exist. They don't solve any problem and they add a tremendous amount of complexity to the standard library and make builds take longer.
