What's so special about Arch? Why does it get memed on so hard? People say it has bleeding edge packages but why is that so important? Is it better for gaming or something? What makes it different from Mint?

just werks, several years now and nothing ever breaks. choose good reliable software and you will have no issues
>>
>>107709451
Lightweight therefore easy to customize. Packages have the developer defaults.
Bleeding edge gives you the latest and greatest.
Because Arch has a reputation for being an "elite distro", it's easy to find scripts and support tailored to Arch
>>
I am not a pro and I tried arch and now I'm never going to use another os. I am a gamer as well and yes it is great for gaming. I avoided it for years thinking it was just for really advanced users but that is a lie anyone can use it. It has honestly changed everything for me no joke.

for me no. i remain using sdr even though i have oled hdr monitor on w11. i just like consistency, and not all content is native hdr. so little flicker when switching, hdr brightness, etc. bothers me without significant payoff imo (calibrated sdr looks great).
but w11 isn't that big a deal either imo so if there are also other reasons you have to switch may as well

My PSU died recently after ~11 years, I thought it was a bit strange given that a Gold Seasonic PSU shouldn't crap out right after the warranty is up and the other older components are still fine, but since 11 years is a long time I let it go

Then recently another PC in my building had a Gold Corsair PSU die after just 2 years, way before the warranty was up, I thought that was really strange, could it be that the fact my building started getting lots of power outages recently be wearing out these PSUs much faster than they'd usually last? Is a UPS the only way to get around it?

Something shorted on my HD and the partition data is gone. The data is all there. I normally use minitool for lightweight crap like formatting and changing letters or managing ext4 on windows, and it have a tool to do partition retrieval but I got paywalled. I'm failing to pirate it too. Can you guys point me the way for a free tool that if not rewrites the partition, at least retrieves the data? Preferable windows, but I can deal with linux too. Please and thank you, happy new year

No, you should say Nigger-word. It shows that you're trying.
>>
>>107716470
tbqh i'm not afraid of or against saying nigger. on the contrary i think everyone should say nigger once in a while just to prove they're not controlled. but "n word" has a quality in and of itself that is funny, sort of like how bleeping curse words is sometimes funnier than hearing them.
also, chatgpt would instantly shut the chat down and likely de-prioritize you across several different services if you typed nigger to it, so that's not very useful, especially since you're saying it to a robot, not a person to prove a point.
lastly, even as a racist, i can't lie that "nigger" sort of makes you winch to hear. when you lay it on too thick you just sound like a belligerent idiot (irl not on 4chan)

>I assume datacenter builds would slow down to some extent, but they'll still be needed
That's a big assumption. Datacenters already exist and sell AI compute to proompters and business clients, but the revenue is shit. Beyond AI, there's not enough demand for compute as a whole to justify the scale of proposed datacenter projects. All the render farms and digital panopticons of the world put together wouldn't be enough to make it profitable, it just doesn't add up in a reality where AI isn't an infinitely scalable magic box.
