99% of conferences and journals are useless due to dogshit reviewers who couldn't care less about your paper that will be read by 50 people max anyway. arXiv is better.

I once started a fork to slim it down to just being an ebook reader, database, and converter and it is so jeeted and spaghettied that it's just not worth it.

If you use the GNU Image Manipulation Program, there is something wrong with you mentally.

It is the only thing preventing me from using a Linux-based OS on a permanent basis. I need Photoshop to work and WINE is buggy as shit. The GIMP is a shit alternative.

Prove me wrong. Why would anyone deliberately use this garbage?

But by all means free yourself from Currysoft and install Linux (GNU).

>to create whatever software project I want
Requires less a mixture of assembly + high-level language and more knowledge about the kernel/user split and driver format/architecture. As long as you can output a proper module with the language it doesn't matter what it's called (for that purpose).

Assembly in userspace exists is mostly there to change the behavior of existing code (general assembly), or to *really* optimize algorithms (specifically SIMD instructions).

Bit of a haul today. A crimping tool for Ethernet cables, a tester to make sure it works before I plug it in, some pendrives (64gb) to install different distros without wiping one over and over, micro SD since I had to flash a camera firmware and of course, the rj45 to crimp into. Already did some cable routing, the tool is solid but it doesn't strip cables that well, I really like that it comes with T568A and B diagrams though, makes it easier to work with. Everything was about 25 bucks in Ali

>Your code is full of undefined behavior because you ignore these subtle details.
If you use a moved object or a dangling reference, the program will crash. It's theoretically UB if you're autistic, but in reality it will always crash, there will be nothing undefined about it. You will investigate the crash dump, and you will fix the issue. After the issue is fixed, it will remain fixed forever. You don't need to invent a new language that fucks you in the ass and slows you down only to prevent some rare types of crashes while introducing other types of crashes. You architect your programs in a way that makes it impossible to leave dangling references or reuse moved objects. It's very easy to do, trillions of lines of C++ code will never have a chance to run into any value category issues.

Microsoft should just hand windows over to a non-profit, goverment or some different non-commercial entity.
They aren't making any money from it, they don't care about copyright infringement either like here lithuanian feds went after some skiddies for being skiddies not for 'illegal activation of windows'.
It's not even an open secret at this point, it's just a common fact everyone is aware of.

It didn't, last I tried it. But I just checked the site and it apparently was just added.

The thing with Logseq is: Why use it when you can just use Obsidian? The only claim it has is that it's open-source and not proprietary (IIRC) but it's so much slower in getting features and competing with Obsidian that you're better off just using Obsidian unless you're a Stallman-type.

Cons: can't drag notes into each other to link them together; instead you have to select each note and type some shit to create a link. Extremely cumbersome and defeats the point of the app in the first place.
