there's more. a computer is not just about the instruction set of the CPU. a computer is also, if not more importantly, about the compatibility (both backwards and forwards) of the hardware. the playstation is a good example. it has an x86 cpu but the hardware is custom. you can't remove the northbridge from a ps4 and put it in another machine. that's why it's not a PC.

Idk when this was made but 401k contributions maximums are at $23.5k. They should be focus on capping it. Then they need to make a backdoor Roth. They got wiggle room. The only thing they need to do left is create a bridge account until they can access their retirement funds.

So yea they are in fact doing better than fine. The house gives them access to HELOCs down the line.

There alot of shit here they can cut like the date nights every two week, childcare costs are short-term in nature and will give them a 42k buffer when the kids get old enough. They could drive a beater instead of a BMW and the Misc buckets is too generic.

>>106526078
This anon gets it.

Hall effect are better in every way and no mechanical keyboard on the market is worth more than 60 bucks USD.
>>
>>106526606
They don't even know the common points of failure on mechanical switches.

Truthfully I love mechanical switch zealots and people who shit on full sized keyboards because they keep the prices down on full sized hall effect.

I got my k70 max for 175USD on sale and I'll still be using it 15 years from now. My cherry MX red keyboard is fine for typing but it's still not as good as my hall effect on any metric... except price, it was cheap af.
>>
>>106526685
Dude, there are still hall effect keyboards from the 70s that still work.

DoD has been using hall effect buttons and switches for decades. Everything in jet fighters is hall effect you mouthbreathing moron.

DoD uses them BECAUSE they're exponentially more reliable than mechanical switches.
>>
>>106526709
Every time you greentext me you add something I didn't say, because the thing I said is unassailable: that it's impossible to promise people a 4-year-old product will "outlast them". We just don't know yet.

I know you think it's unacceptable that people still like a proven keyboard technology when today's cool new thing might be superior. In 10 years' time when everyone's Wooting 60HEs are still working like brand-new it will be safe to say that it's a proven design. Right now, it's not.

>>106526774
Show me a DoD-spec hall effect keyboard currently on the market, or one with an identical switch design.

An alternate solution is to download "Portacle" which is an Emacs already configured with Slime, Swank, SBCL, Quicklisp, and Paredit. It works out of the box.

In that way you don't need to lose time configuring or troubleshooting things.

Unless you meant 4 vs 3.7 (both Sonnets), then yeah, the IQ and variety gains are miniscule, but 4 likes to skirt around the subject, be vague and de-escalate things rather than push on.
