Brick walls are only strong under proper vertical load, the wall at the top of the building is weaker at the top than bottom, if you lay bricks randomly, now you cannot even load it because it will collapse because of shear forces, so it's weak everywhere if you even get to the point where it looks like a house

Don't buy anything OTHER THAN IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T, X, and W/P Series if you want the Real Business Experience™
>Other business laptops are welcome in /tpg/ (Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook)

Why ThinkPad?
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap
>Excellent keyboards, tactile feel and quiet + the TrackPoint
>Great durability: magnesium roll cage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop
>Easy to repair (most models), upgrade & maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model, spare parts easy & cheap to obtain
>Excellent Linux & *BSD support

>T1G Gen8
Its a piece of paper. Get a T16G Gen3 instead, its basically a P16 Gen3 without the ISV Certification which you will never need unless you're a highly paid engineer on an oil rig.
>Both of these have the exact same specs except the legion is around $800 cheaper. Do any of you fags have experience with the Legion series and the quality of them?
They're solid, but don't expect it to last like a ThinkPad does.

Get another open back pair with similar sound signature. I like FiiO FT1 but I don't remember how it's compare to HD650. If you can, try some headphones before you buy. Or just fix your's with new pads and electrical tape.

Chinks managed to copy the headband properly so you can get it on Ali for 4$ but unfortunately not the earpads so this still is going to be 39$. Although if they are not completely fucked you can stretch them back to the original shape with a hairdryer a few times before the foam totally disintegrates.

Why isn't there a unixlike environment that uses lisp as a shell scripting environment?
I guess Guix is kinda like that I suppose but it'd be really cool if it was like Emacs and every tool is a lisp program you can look at, is there any system like that?

you can use gash, a shell written in guile. guix uses it for full-source bootstrapping

This anime girl has built4bbc tech that's for sure

Early 2020s: China enacts laws severely crippling the internet for people unless they show ID

Jul 2025 (Online Safety Act): UK enacts laws neutering the internet for people unless they show ID; remains in effect despite initial outcry

Dec 2025 (Online Safety Amendment): Australia enacts laws neutering the internet for people unless they show ID; likely to remain in effect despite current outcry

Apr 2026? (KOSA, made it into the House recently): US enacts laws neutering the internet for people unless they show their IDs

EU has similar shit on the table iirc, they're the fucking EU they love regulation

This will get worse, and this won't go away, at least not in the way you want it to - it'll be an impossibly difficult sell because "THINK OF THE CHILDREN!" Security theater is notoriously difficult to reverse, just compare flying pre and post 9/11. This'll probably be more of the same. Again, UK already had a petition, the gov there just laughed in everyone's faces. Only way any of this is really "going away" is, like, the internet itself going extinct.

Not just this btw, also got countries banning Chinese social media (which in many cases can ironically be less restrictive), Android banning sideloading, etc.

This won't get kids playing outside again. They'll just watch only the government-OK kid-friendly TV, YouTube Shorts, and AI. Sheeple will still use a heavily policed internet and talk to Amanda the AI HR Lady because "brain need dopamine". China's still full of internet addicts despite having long had one of the world's most censored internets.

lol, they can't put ID verification at the IP protocol layer, even if they try.
best they could do is ask for id to connect to the internet, but even then, the IP layer would stay the same and thus they couldn't have full control of what's happening.
>>
>>107535058
that's not doable with current technology, at most you block normies.
you could always go on a public wifi, copy the mac of another user in the network and there you go.
>>
>>107535047
The boomers in gov have no idea how technology works. During the hearings for the bill in Australia someone asked a governor about 4chan and he went "what's 4chan?"

Yeah, just find the 1%.
I am not saying it as someone who didn't find anyone. I found someone but even though she isn't an NPC, her female nature is overpowering any logic sense or intellect when it comes to day to day. She is self absorbed like all others and retroactively justify everything she does with the lies she tells to herself.

just a reminder that white women are sluts because white men are weak simps who enable their sluttiness

slutiness is not a big problem in developing countries. the downfall of normal healthy relationships in the western world is entirely the fault of stupid men with no standards. reading some crybaby betacuck write a piece about how no whore thinks he is even worth extracting money from is a waste of everyones time, white guys are just going to keep simping and getting cucked and will always be there waiting for some roastie who says she is ready to settle down
