>OpenGL calls to DirectX first? Then how to use WARP?
For desktop GL you can use mesa3d, just put the DLL's beside your executable.
https://github.com/pal1000/mesa-dist-win
By default mesa3d will use DX12.
To set DX to warp, I used dxcpl.exe
To test llvmpipe, I set GALLIUM_DRIVER to llvmpipe (not sure if there is an alternative way).
Zink is the vulkan driver, it's slower than the d3d12 backend and Angle with Vulkan/dx11, but it has mesh shaders, and vulkan has had mesh shaders on AMD for a while (but if you were using mesh shaders, you would still use Nvidia's GL extension for speed, assuming the AMD mesh shader extension is similar enough).
But on a old PC, you might not have DX12 installed, and you might not have the instructions on your CPU to run it, and you might prefer having GPU support if possible, which in that case you should use Angle with GL es 2.0, which is annoying because it's difficult to support both es 2.0 and modern Desktop GL at the same time (GL debugging tools neglect GL es, big glsl changes).
Also I ran GL es 2.0 for dx9 on a core 2 duo intel IGPU many years ago on win7, and it was buggy (but it ran better then GL 2.1).
But there is no prebuilt binary for Angle (maybe there is) other than copying the DLL from chrome/edge.
Mesa3D has a neat built in FPS frame counter (it has a frame time graph) you can set using a gallium environment variable if you read the docs.
On Angle, I configure it with EGL variables (maybe there is another way?). It's very tricky, this might help (I use SDL, which uses EGL callbacks):
https://github.com/google/angle/blob/main/util/EGLWindow.cpp
There is also SwiftShader (all I know is that the old version for opengl had a watermark but there is also a open source version for vulkan?)

I'm thinking of building a computer with this... is it a good choice? I need something extremely fast and cheap. I'm opening an office and need a relatively powerful computer with Linux Mint...

I didn't know these things about Mint; when I read about it, it seemed perfect and safe.

Regarding motherboards, I intend to use one of these MACHINIST MR9A PRO X99 or Qiyida x99 LGA2011-3.
For the video card, I would use a very simple one... maybe a 1030TI.
It was great to hear about the 2650; is there anything else you'd like to share about it? Is it worth getting the 2680/90 just because they're almost the same price?

I have some ECC RAM at home; maybe I'll use that.

xruns probably.
increase the number of buffer samples.
>>
>>107582270
I increased buffers with PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC to 120 and that seems to have worked kinda, but it seems that sound effects are kinda delayed now, or at least it seems to me that sound effects are now delayed, I didn't really test it for long. I guess when I get a chance to test it for longer I'll look into xruns, unless you have any insights into that.
>>
>>107582203
Because you're using pulseaudio, nigga
>>
>>107582560
Well I don't really have a lot of experience with the sound system of Linux, I generally don't even have to think about it because "it just werks" most of the time.
>>
>>107582542
well when you increase buffers it's normal that everything gets increasingly delayed.

if you need no latency, using wine is probably never going to work. you need to go native, not sure what you're after but midi works fine with something like jack2/jack-pipewire with qjackctl for graph and patchbay overview + carla for vst's.

I'm not sure what you are asking.
If you're self-hosting, then you are the only that can acess it.
If it's encrypted and you host on another platform, then that platform has access to the encrypted data.

I changed my career in 2019 and managed to ride the defensive hiring wave that happened before and during the pandemic. At the time, it was really easy to get a decently paid job without knowing much.

After the bubble burst in 2022–2023, I completely lost my sense of direction. I was unemployed for six months, living off my savings, and even after changing jobs, my earnings barely recovered to previous levels.

I’ve since completed a postgraduate degree in AI, but it hasn’t helped much. I’m currently doing far more than I did back then—working on everything from systems integration to data science projects—and my compensation is a joke.

I’ve thought about creating a SaaS, but that feels like another joke. Maybe I should make some kind of AI whorefluencer for OF/JFF instead?

How are you guys doing?
