Installed this bad boy today locally on my laptop (i dont care about network wide adblocking), it's better than simply putting the public servers on control panel because i have this dashboard where i can view statistics and easily block sites with a toggle switch.>inb4 ublock is betterIt is better in some cases, but i dont like to use browser extensions.>inb4 shillim not, it's just comfy, anons
>>107691839Does it actually work?Because I have used things like pyhole before and it sucks.
>>107691850Yes, but dns ad blocking is weaker than ublock. It doesnt blocks yt ads, for example.
>>107691859why can a browser like brave block pretty much every ad, but dedicated adblockers can't

>>107691454>Windows 7/8.1 would be fast and responsive running from the same driveNo they wouldn't.
>>107690459look up the issue. you'll need to disable windows defender and some other shit.
>>107691488>waah you're a poor, brown and a tranny incelCompelling argument, retard. Go ahead list them. >>107690681It's not just windows. Chrome does that too, scans whole drive every single day trashing the drive and uploads log to jeet mothership.
>>107691619>Yes they would I've used every major Windows version since 3.11.You have to be over 18 to post here.>7 is snappy running from a period correct 7200 RPM HDD.No it's not. With a 7200rpm drive they will, at best, manage to boot up on a fresh new install. If you use any modern application or even just an antivirus, they will slow down to a barely useable crawl. One of the first things we used to do when servicing Windows 7 machines was to change the boot drive to an SSD, fortunately they all use at most 500GB HDDs inside so it's easy to just do an image copy to a same size SSD, then run from that and have everything be 1000x faster.Shit, I have an old Turion laptop somewhere that took ten minutes to boot Win7 from a HDD, then I swapped one of my old spares in and now it's snappy as Speedy Gonzalez, I mean as long as you don't do anything that would require CPU calculations or use more than 2GB of RAM (so basically one browser tab only).
Every single influential streamer and content creator is now anti-AI.Fuck yeah.

>>107691722but muh low quality goonslop
What has changed in the last 20 years?Image formats, audio formats, video formats, codecs, etc. all are basically the same. No new software that really requires a new computer. Everything you can do today can be done on a 15 year old computer. What has even changed in operating systems? Shiny buttons, fancy graphics, and more fluff just so people have something to feel good about when they post their lame ricing screenshots. After so many years, we still don't even have an open design of a CPU, Motherboard, RAM or any component. Forget current generation, if that's too much to ask, but even the ones from a decade ago don't have an open design. At least that would've been good reason to upgrade.Otherwise, what even is the point of upgrading the computer so often? Just to play stupid video games?
>>107691738Local AI is the only reason right now to scale up.It's going to take what maybe 5 more years when you actually need to upgrade if not more.It depends also what cpu type you have AM4 or AM5 if AVX512 will become important in the future then I at least need to upgrade.
you can't probably even move around your browser without at least 8gb ram
A few of you may have discovered today that thumbnails suddenly stopped loading in Firefox. I did.Checking the browser console, I found errors for each thumbnail in the catalog which said "A resource is blocked by OpaqueResponseBlocking, please check browser console for details."After disabling browser.opaqueResponseBlocking in about:config, those error messages turned into 403's and the images would still not load.I did a desuarchive search for Firefox and found a post in /trash/ saying "I figured it out. 4chan is now asking for referrers when requesting images from 4cdn... TL:DR; 4chan wants to know where you were before loading an image." along with a screenshot of all about:config settings with the word "referer" in them. With the help of that screenshot, I pinpointed the issue to network.http.referer.XOriginPolicy in about:config, which I had set to 2 for whatever reason, I don't know. Setting it to 0 fixed the problem. Most of you on Firefox probably won't experience this since 0 is the default setting. So, for those of you also experiencing this issue, there's the fix, and now the fix is on desuarchive for others to find.Feel free to discuss the technological/privacy ramifications of this change by 4chan, or if the /trash/ poster's analysis is correct.
>>107669497>Don't just let any faggot know where you're coming from, install referrer spoofer addonModern browsers use the strict-origin-when-cross-origin referrer policy by default, and common extensions like uBlock Origin already can and do override Referrer-Policy header values on network responses to tear out any more privileged value. This means only the origin (i.e. domain/hostname) will be sent, not the resource you were actually looking at.If that's not good enough for you, you can override to no-referrer by default and white-list certain domains that need it to allow for strict-origin-when-cross-origin.You don't need separate additional extensions.
>>107674247>can detect all of the websites you were visited beforeReferrer header only contains the one previous website you came from. It cannot see the whole chain. There is intentionally no browser API that allows for this.
Maybe one of you can help me fix my shitI'm on Firefox and the "please verify that you're human" cloudflare check doesn't work on 4chan specifically (and not in incognito either). I press verify and it keeps looping and nothing happens. I can visit other sites just fine. I've had this issue a week ago >>107611158 and >>107612219 and since then I've just been posting normally because it fixed itself out of nowhere. if this gonna keep happening I'd like an actual way to fix it
>>107691419Whitelisting is clearly necessary. How do you use that in uBlockOrigin?

>>107690843yeah but the only thing I ever see audiophiles talk about is music
>>107691840just use decent speakers if you want to listen to podcasts/games/movies w/e.good used speakers are free-$100 used because the shear volume of boomers getting rid of them doesn't match how many people want them. Anything super high end is still $1k+ but good quality ones are still absurdly cheapget a decent receiver/amp and basically any speaker from mirage, paradigm, energy, athena(less so), klispch, roland, mission etc. It's sort of country based so you'll have to see whats around in your country, anyways loads are from golden years of canadian speaker manufacturing or the ukhaving a decent set of speakers for games or movies is beyond kino anon i highly recommend it.

>>107691807>windows is better for cad software and gaming only- Backwards compatibility- Standardized (most the people in world use it)- The platform actual developers target not ("hackers")Mac has less reasons to use it.- Ecosystem- Music production and maybe adobe products run better on it

Not to mention that particular expression is mostly used by pRedditors. You can't blame FAGMAN for having gone full retard when you yourself buy into the very kike behavior they're promoting you buffoon. As for the intentional degradation of internet indexing it's all part of the jew order agenda. I get your frustration but there's no solution in sight. Read Brzezinski's book Between Two Ages , Americas role in the Technetronic Era.It was published in the 70s by Carters security guy who formed the Trilateral Commission. It describes how they're gonna architect these digital solutions (the internet) along with social media (yes it was planned way ahead of time like all other things) to condition the stupid goyim, with the end goal being transhumanism. So if you think this gen-AI nonsense is disturbing you ain't seen nothing yet.Within 10+ years tech will be obsolete for non-conformists who refuse to accept the BMI (brain machine interface) they'll be selling to cure/fix the next currentThang, ID2030 along with the rest of Agenda 21. You'll be given the choice to either A. Take it like a good goy (judging by your childish opening statement it sounds like you will). B. RESIST like the based, White, Christian men of history.
