if you're watching live action you'll never see the difference even on slow.pics so it doesn't matter. If you're watching anything older than about 2008 then unless the encoder denoised the chroma it won't matter what you use because there's too much noise to get any signal. If you're watching a more recent cartoon with a native vertical resolution of at least 810 then you can start seeing the difference and will want to use the best meme scaler you can run because chroma scaling is anisotropic with respect to the color channels and red will always look the blurriest with naive kernels.

can yt-dlp rip spotify songs assuming i have a spotify account? or is there another foss tool?

spotify has drm so yt-dlp will never support it
you can use this but will need a wvd file as well

Anyone know of a hacked yt-dlp setup that can work on Windows 7? They only support 8 or above which pisses me off. I have to use a Win 10 machine to rip YouTube which is stupid.

Ok /g/, how would you explain the need for encryption to a idiot/normie and how it would effect them in a way they would understand?

Imagine encryption as your ability as a tranny to pass. Using encryption is the same as passing, while not using encryption means everyone can see that you're really a man (which they can anyways because trannies can't pass).

The following zsh snippet created a FS bookmarks widget accessible with ctrl-B. It runs commands listed in a file. The first command in the file should be "<editor> /path/to/file", as this is the only reliable way I have found to remove entries from the file by matching the pwd. Use 'ba' to add the pwd to the file. You will be prompted to provide a description, which means that this widget requires interactive comments to be enabled. Each bookmark reads like 'pushd "/path/to/dir" # Description of Bookmark'. Using 'bm' or pressing ctrl-b will open up a list of directories added to the list of bookmarks. "bl" will list bookmarks.
bm() {
cat "$HOME/.config/bkms/bm.zsh" | fzf | source /dev/stdin
}

bm-widget() {
bm
zle reset-prompt
}
zle -N bm-widget

ba() {
local bookmarks="$HOME/.config/bkms/bm.zsh"
local dir="$(pwd)"
local desc

I won't be low key, either. It's literally this easy to make a zle widget where you select arbitrary commands from a list, and bind it to a key. Whatever thing you want to have a bunch of a commands already hashed out for, you can basically make your own cheat.sh for it, but it's the specific commands you need.

some-function() {
cat some_file | fzf | source /dev/stdin
}

some-function-widget() {
some-function
zle reset-prompt
}
zle -N some-widget
bindkey -v <key> some-function-widget
>>
>>107706119
you could even have fzf select a match for a case statement which then selects the list of commands. So, you'd have categories. Make backspace feed the list back into fzf w/ reload-sync(...), and you can go back and forth between the list of categories and whatever list of commands

OBS can't deal with anything bigger than 16:9, so if you try to stream and record with an ultra wide you get back bars across the top and bottom. there is no way to get around it without destroying the quality of recording

I work as a freelance writer, and basically, it's going to make my skills priceless. I've been getting work through Upwork, and though the volume of work coming my way dropped significantly after ChatGPT worldwide release, the clients I do have are paying me more than ever because they appreciate the human touch.
In the future, the only surefire way to avoid AI slop articles will be to avoid Forbes, CNN, etc. to read an article; you will follow the writer you like and are interested in and read his work.

Also, why was my previous thread deleted? This is a software-based application explicitly engineered for operation within the computational and telecommunications framework of a handheld mobile device, ok? It is therefore unambiguously situated within the broader domain of contemporary technological systems, infrastructures, and applied digital sciences, and as such relevant to /g/.

Are people at Microsoft even aware that they just killed themselves with one simple move where people actively downgrade or switch to other OS just to NOT be at Win11? They think they hold monopoly or what?

>They think they hold monopoly or what?
Because they do. They have insane lock in. You don't realize how many people rely on adobe or office or some game with anti cheat or SOMETHING. It only takes one thing and then it's much easier to stay on win11 than to do anything else. MS has been shittifying windows for a long time now and nothing happened to their market share. Look at how they're acting, they don't care what you think.

3D works but only on a handful of 15 year old cards so far. But it's coming along.

It works transparently with BeOS, nothing needs to be rewritten if it adheres to the BeOS+3D APIs.

There is literally no reason to use Linux. Heck, there's no reason to use anything other than Mac OS™ and Windows™(10®). Why, the poorfag asks? Allow me to explain-

You use Mac for-
>showing cute videos to your friends
>sniggling up with your gf
>going hiking and casting to reddit
>just being a super relient go-to machine that'll have your back in a pinch

Windows you use for
>playing video games
>making expensive machines
>school computers

Linux, on the other hand, exists only for these principle reasons
>watching adult cartoons

Midi is a 90s audio format that works through reading instructions. Its completely dated and irrelevant in today's world. Last night I downloaded a zip on archive.org full of them. I was about to make a thread asking for a good midi player on Linux that didn't require a big ass UI for midi producers or cli only like mplayer, but then solved the problem.

To play midi on Linux simply install

vlc-plugin-fluidsynth.x86_64
fluidsynth.x86_64
fluidsynth-libs.x86_64

then just open VLC. Now you can play midi just as flawless as a Windows 95
