New version is out.

Also, why was my previous thread deleted? This is a software-based application explicitly engineered for operation within the computational and telecommunications framework of a handheld mobile device, ok? It is therefore unambiguously situated within the broader domain of contemporary technological systems, infrastructures, and applied digital sciences, and as such relevant to /g/.

Your phone is unironically much more secure than desktop Linux, so it's better to use that for banking. GrapheneOS community and devs are in agreement on this
>>
You can make it safe by never updating any of those random sketchy utility programs that bloat your OS
that filters almost all troonixers though

>Windows 11 more secure than Debain
I kinda get the point. If you are focused on a full attack chain specifically designed for Debian, it's probably easier than W11. In the real world, W11 is by far the biggest target for such activities and that tips the scale.

Its security by obscurity in action no matter how much people claim that's not security

Let's not start about region locked disks.
>4K dropped region locks
>but unplayable on PC
I hate them so much for locking the physical movies.
I can rip them but then I have 50GB folders. I need to delete them once I watch them.
Maybe rewrite them on empty BD disks and put all my movies in a folder portfolio, like we did with music CDs.
And gave the nice boxes and collector's editions on the bookcase, since I am into some boutique stuff that looks nice and have books and stuff.
>>
>>107710722
Some of them can get custom firmware and make them region free.
>>
>>107708757
Irrational boomerism. Data is safer in bittorrent swarms than optical discs.
>>
>>107710691
>As someone who has been pirating since the 90's, the benefit I saw in optical drives was the possibility to write them. Everything from sharing files/games/movies, making backups, OS installers, etc.
same, but i haven't done so in some time as they haven't been developed in a long time. like in the 90's/early '00s, cd's was a lot of storage for a cheap price, then soon after that was true for dvd's. once hdd's got big enough and cheap enough i stopped getting optical media however, as they are more convenient.
it's like, two stacks of 100 dvd's gave you close to 500GiB worth of storage/media for less than the cost of a 40GiB hdd at one point in time. they made perfect sense for bulk storage, now though... i'm happy with my 45TiB NAS

>The development comes a little over a year after the tech giant [Google] disclosed that its transition to Rust led to a decline in memory safety vulnerabilities from 223 in 2019 to less than 50 in 2024.

>The company pointed out that Rust code requires fewer revisions, necessitating about 20% fewer revisions than their C++ counterparts, and has contributed to a decreased rollback rate, thereby improving overall development throughput.

>We adopted Rust for its security and are seeing a 1000x reduction in memory safety vulnerability density compared to Android's C and C++ code. But the biggest surprise was Rust's impact on software delivery," Google's Jeff Vander Stoep said. "With Rust changes having a 4x lower rollback rate and spending 25% less time in code review, the safer path is now also the faster one

>With roughly 5 million lines of Rust in the Android platform and one potential memory safety vulnerability found (and fixed pre-release), our estimated vulnerability density for Rust is 0.2 vuln per 1 million lines (MLOC).

>Our historical data for C and C++ shows a density of closer to 1,000 memory safety vulnerabilities per MLOC. Our Rust code is currently tracking at a density orders of magnitude lower: a more than 1000x reduction.

There is nothing wild about it if you think about how 90% of people use a compromised operating system that spies on you and also 90% of people use a compromised browser made by an advertisement company that also spies on you. People love being spied on it's like they have a fetish or something.

A few days ago, I had some free time and decided to revisit an old favorite from my teenage years: GTA San Andreas. I figured that a game from 2004 would run perfectly on Linux via Proton, so I installed Steam through Flatpak and gave it a shot. Instead, I ended up spending the entire fucking evening messing with different Proton versions and launch options, trying to get it to work. In the end, I couldn't even play it since it crashed right after the loading screen. A GAME FROM FUCKING 2004! This is the state of this joke of an operating system. Nobody will ever use it, no matter how bad macOS or Windows becomes.

Hacky way to edit metadata
Install hxd and open the file
Locate the tag frequency in the __metadata__ json header block
Replace what you dont want inside the "{tags}" with spaces (do not delete text as the size of the header is a fixed value before the metadata block, and this will cause the offsets to be wrong)

Yeah, it's just that unfortunately the ratio of building : destroying on 4chan makes destroying something way easier.
I used to post here but now I only lurk, it bores me to build something knowing that some schizos can come today or tomorrow and break up a general with just a couple weeks of shitposting, which is basically what happened here.

If the schizos taught me anything it's that 4chan moderation is shit and that building something on this website is too.

Segas MMO is the only game I know that specifically requires a NTFS drive. Trying to play it on another filesystem results in massive stutters related to I/O. It's a documented issue on Proton github.
