I think that standard 2.0 instead of 1.4 doesn't matter that much. It sounds like it's broken or something

I fixed the sound issue myself. It's so weird that youtube tutorials will consistently fix odd tech issues better than forums

it's not that weird, youtube has a lot more users than 4chan and the users with the knowledge you seek don't need to be here live to answer you on youtube.

There's probably good guides or forums but the general internet algorithm just doesn't connect dots well anymore between written text and usefulness or variety of material that comes up. Youtube outclasses specifics somehow. And earlier I was thinking that the algorithm or someone had dropped some of my favorite content.

Install Gentoo. Or whatever flavor of *nix is best for the job or most comfy for you. Jellyfin/Emby/Plex to replace Netflix, Nextcloud to replace Googlel, Ampache/Navidrome to replace Spotify, the list goes on. Look at the awesome self-hosted list and ask.

Reading from it is totally fine, it maxes out the nic on my desktop. I had an issue for a long time of large copy's hanging off and on in about 1 minute intervals, but now it seems that it's just never coming back after it hangs the first time.
>>
>>107660284
drive model and how it's connected to the computer? it's likely just busy and has the command queue full so other shit has to wait on it. also i'm not sure what share vm means in this case.
>>
>>107660303
7x 20TB exos connected to the onboard sata on my h12ssl-i.
I guess I'll lay it out. The pool is fine, I have two virtual machines that host smb shares. All of these disks are from different datasets and different proxmox storage's, but from the same zfs pool.

VM 1
Disk A

VM 2
Disk B
Disk C

If I do a large copy to Disk C, itself, and Disk B will "lock up" until that operation is killed. Disk A will be just fine. Though to make this even more annoying, the boot disk, which is on a different pool, doesn't get affected at all. The behavior is the same on VM 1.
>>
>>107660388
probably has to do with the cache mode of disk writing for the guest. maybe disable it to let the guest handle all caching.
>>
>>107660388
also, not clear but are you using zfs zvols or qcow2 for the disk images?
you're doing a lot of unnecessary abstraction running file shares in a guest that doesn't have direct access to the disk controller itself.

AI can sum the dice, so in combination with a good unrestricted computer use model it could probably solve the captcha.
At this point the only value in captchas is to force high resource usage for each attempt, since these models are still expensive to run. But they'll get cheaper and cheaper with time.

>/g/ makes a 19th album
Theme: [Accepting suggestions]

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.

lazy and greedy manufacturers. you can do anything if you really put your mind to it.
what you want to say is it's not as easy/straightforward for them. as in they cannot do it through the cheapest and simplest manufacturing process that maximizes their gains on a sale for such a set. like they did with that GMK golden hen, cheap shit plastic that wears out for a fuckload of money because "pretty".
also there's plenty backlit keysets that look just fine, as long as legends are up/down depending on led position.

Fucking LOL. That model came out in 2005 and had a PresHot Celeron D inside it, which was absolute dog shit even for the time. Not to mention 512MB of RAM, which was bare minimum stuff for XP, paired with shitty Intel integrated graphics. Oh, and the motherboard had no AGP or PCIe slot, so you were absolutely fucked in terms of being able to put a decent graphics card in there.

Zoomers are so fucking delusional about their childhood Windows XP shitboxes. They were FAR worse than a modern budget system.

to make neat little projects in your free time? go for it
programming is fun when you can just fuck around making things with no risk of being fired if it takes you a week to figure a problem out instead of an hour

Go for it, as long as you're realistic about your prospects of getting hired as an SWE.

>>107659603
I would probably leave SICP for much later. Although theoretically aimed at beginners, it was written in the 80s and it was a different time when it came to learning how computers work/how to program. It's rather abstract and uses a programming language that's rarely used today outside of uni courses. Most programmers haven't read it and have never written any lisp/scheme.
CS50 looks good.
>>
>>107660068

I think CODING will go away but PROGRAMMING is here to stay.
And CODING is currently the best way to practice PROGRAMMING.

I'm capitalizing the words not because I'm shouting but because I want to emphasize that these two are only synonymous today in the pre-AI-coder era. I say it's "pre-" because there isn't an enterprise software product/service out there that was developed using LLMs/AI.
