Adobe Illustrator CS (the original.)

I had a copy of Illustrator 8 which worked fine on my old Macs, but I just bought my first OSX machine and it was a little buggy there. Bought the student edition of Illustrator then proceeded to use it for well over a decade until I did a major system update and it no longer supported PPC applications.
I've since switched over to Inkscape. Though I feel like I operate less efficiently, and can only do maybe 80% of what I used to do in Illustrator.

>Use KDE gayland, everything is slow, low fps, input lag, weird frame pacing that doesnt feel smooth even with a smooth frametime graph in games

>Use X11 with Xmonad Tiling window manager, It just werks, everything werks, no latency or input lag
>High FPS, gaming just werks and I get 20fps+ more than gayland for some reason and its buttery smooth
>Fast with zero bloat, Configure everything to my liking

At this point, I wont even use any desktop environment on linux if it isn't X11. Even XFCE is dead to me because it has wayland support. I will never support anything wayland based on linux.
I'm X11 pilled.

KDE Plasma and GNOME under Wayland support:
HDR
Multi-display VRR
Proper mixed-refresh rate displays
Fractional scaling
There are no X11 DE/WMs with those features.
There are at least 2 Wayland DE/WMs with those features.

Using X11 for GNOME / KDE Plasma means the below features do not work:
HDR
Multi-display VRR
Proper mixed-refresh rate displays
Fractional scaling

if you see dark spots between colors in that post you replied to, it could just be that i was picking up the black background when i blended. i will admit there is a bug you can see here >>107729949 where the "first" click of the tool puts down a dark spot, im not sure why this is happening exactly, but i havent fixed it. however if i burn a click on an empty part of the canvas, then i dont get that dark spot at all and it works as you would expect

I tweaked my Markov text generator a bit, but by far the most interesting thing is how unstructured the output becomes depending on the preference for higher-order context. In pic related, the left and right sides have identical training and generation parameters, other than the function I use to update the probability to use higher-order statistics (e.g. using P('d' | "Lor") vs. P('d' | "or") vs. P('d' | "o") vs. P('d')) when sampling a character.

The left side uses this:
// no preference for higher vs lower order sampling
// if they're equal it's 50/50, chance to fire is proportional to the difference in probability
p_target = 0.5f * (p_fire_correct - p_hold_correct) + 0.5f;

While the right side uses:
// always prefer higher order sampling unless lower order is more accurate
// if they're equal always use higher order
p_target = min(1.f, 1.f + (p_fire_correct - p_hold_correct));

p_fire_correct is the probability that "firing" (using higher-order sampling) will produce the observed character, and where p_hold_correct is the probability that using this-order context will produce the correct character.

The firing probability is basically a moving average of prior target probabilities:

That sentence is mostly about nvidia drivers. On old nvidia gpus the drivers are proprietary and directly linked to the xorg server, it's not possible to make it work in another x11 server or wayland without copying the xorg server code

I didn't even mind paying few grand. Why? Because it's clear it's going to get really bad with the GPU market.
Would I be surprised if the 5090 cost 7 grand in a year from now? Not one fucking bit.
All of the other cards are going to be expensive as shit too.
If you need to buy a card then do it now, because you're going to see elevated prices until the 6000 series launches.
I bet it's going to launch in small supply, then gets scalped to shit and now you're once again stuck waiting for a better situation and the prices didn't come down at all.

I think you'll have a decent time with the Wimius. A lot of the projectors I tested were random ass no name brands but Wimius were one of the few who are semi established and actually seem to be trying to make it as a projector manufacturer/seller.
I gave one of theirs to a family member who loves it. I couldn't use it because of the input lag.
Some of the issues I mentioned in previous posts with input lag and motion will persist however. On some models they're OK until you get into software adjustments and start adjusting the keystone correction digitally, which can introduce the lag. Also even across the same brand like Wimius, some of their models can randomly not have basic software features like changing the tint colour or audio settings. Autofocus is handy. 450 ANSI is fine but still preferable for dark. You should still be able to see the picture in the light though but not in an ideal way.

Wimius are also the brand that offered me a chance to shill for them in exchange for free products. I turned it down. I use Projectors way less now. A lot of the ones I got during that time sit around unused. The one I do use now is the GooDee YG600 (maybe plus?). It's under advertised weirdly because it supports HDR on my PS5 but that isn't listed in the specs anywhere. Still has input lag tho

well if they are at least only pretending to use tubes, it may not be that bad

i find funny that even if you for some reason wants to use tubes, people that claim they do for their quality are using the old style crystal ones instead of the minituarized metallic more modern ones.

It just werks. Wayland is close to just werking also nowadays but it spent something like a decade being pushed as "close to ready!!" while the most basic shit would not work because of its absolutely inane design.
Over the years by sheer brute force they finally seem to have gotten most stuff working in spite of the design's retardation so now it's fine. There's no real reason to specifically use X11 if Wayland works for you and your usecases.

The numbers before_p0 are the ID, you just add it to a link.
_p(n) is just the number of the page of the gallery, exapmple _p1 is page 2, p_3 is page 3 and so on.
For example:
For 139404738_p0 the link would be www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/139404738
