What's so special about Arch? Why does it get memed on so hard? People say it has bleeding edge packages but why is that so important? Is it better for gaming or something? What makes it different from Mint?

the official repos are huge, chances are youll always find the stuff you need, besides, there are .rpms around, since its a distro used by professionals, same for ubuntu.
>codecs?
you can use fedora just fine without the codecs, and if you want it, its 1 command away, safe and effective, you cant possibly compare that to your malware infested aur.

As long as it is below 42V you don't need an electrician. A 24V system is sufficient for my needs. In any case, as a licensed ham I am permitted to build and operate transmitters that use thousands of volts so I am familiar with the dangers of high voltages.

Pulsemixer automatically starts in a scratchpad terminal on top of my status bar. It's is toggled with super-a. Because I'm using wezterm, I can open a new tab, press ctrl-b, select the "videos" bookmark or a more specific bookmark in my videos directory, press either ctrl-t or ctrl-f, and select the video I want. I can simply switch back to the other tab to mute/unmute the preview, or super+l or super+right over to mpv and set it to fullscreen.

>usually called direct dial
Yeah man me and a bro did that all the time after school in dialup era as the landline service gave free calls within local area. vs dialup pay per minute had to use it thoughtfully. I'd convinced parents for second phone line and had to pay the bill
>>
>>107721771
i wish i used it more often, but i only ended up doing that a handful of times. the main issue with that is as you probably found out given you went for the second line (which i didn't know you could do at the time, though i was too young to afford it anyhow), is that the only way you could communicate with someone outside of your house at the time was over the phone... the same phone you needed to use for the direct dial session, which made setting up a session a pain in the ass, especially if you were the only person who had an idea of what to do

I recall sending a couple of faxes with filled in bank cheques to buy software/games?? from magazines. One time some trolling of the school coz we could fax them for free. What were you doing?
"fax modem" being in the product name still makes me smile, most were unaware or skeptical of the Internet at that point.
Since that first taste of world wide open communication it was obviously clear to me it was gonna be massive & set my path to network engineering
>>107721841
Yeah I had to beg parents for a second phone line for a while for exactly that. My dialup bro he would join my quake server & we talk in chat. There was some primitive network broadcast chat thing we used at some point. Then everyone got broadband
>>
>>107717124
>indians and brazillians spamming shit is le good as long as they get out of poverty
This was the single worse point. How is that a consolation for the internet being permanently ruined? I don't give a shit if they're starving, I care if my experience online is ruined. I'd rather see them slave in factories than exploit some sort of international arbitrage from cheap cost of living and AI video Youtube ad revenue
>>
>>107717109
You know what? Scanners ARE complicated and I'm tired of pretending otherwise. The button layout is always ridiculous and it shits out nonsensical error messages that it never explains even though it has a screen it can explain shit on. Fuck copy machines.
>Filtered
Fuck you. They're archaic pieces of shit that were never designed right in the first place. If they were never invented and somebody pitched the idea of a copy machine today that works just like these ones do, he'd be laughed out of the engineering field and possibly honor killed.

3:2 would be a godsend for photographers, since most professional camera sensors are 3:2 ratio similar to the 35mm film.
>>

3:2 is also a fibonacci ratio :) just a softer approximation. But yes 16:10 is closer to geometric perfection and thus closer to the Godhead and the monad

While there are people with enough time (and money) in their hands to produce such videos, most of them are paid partnerships. >>107721041 in special seems to have a lot of product placement going on, especially judging from the amount of followers that guy (Colin Yurcisin) has. However, Yurcisin seems to be some kind of crypto grifter, and maintaining an appearance of being a successful alpha is imperative in this business, so it's very plausible that guy produced that video to advertise himself as such.
