Dado Banatao, the filipino you never knew was important to computers, died today. He was 79.

>From his humble beginnings in the farming town of Iguig in Cagayan province, Banatao went on to develop landmark technologies. These include the first 10-Mbit Ethernet CMOS chip and system logic chipsets for the IBM PC-XT and PC-AT. There were also the first graphics accelerator chip and the pioneering local bus architecture that sped up computer performance.

Banatao earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology. He then earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science at Stanford University in California.

He co-founded the chipset company Mostron in 1984 and, a year later, Chips and Technologies. The latter was a graphics adapter company that was eventually acquired by Intel for approximately $430 million. Most Intel (and possibly all) Accelerated Graphics Cards all rely on his contributions today.
>In 1989, he founded S3 Graphics, which pioneered the local bus concept and developed Windows accelerator chips. S3 Graphics became the third-most profitable technology company in 1993.
>Shifting to venture capital, Banatao founded Tallwood Venture in 2000. It is a firm focused on investing in semiconductor technology, where he served as managing partner.

I am a gardaworld federal black ops unarmed security special forces operator and I need a P.P.E.D. (Personal Portable Entertainment Device) in the form of a smartphone. I need it to be IP waterproof or whatever it's called and tough and rugged. The cheaper the better. I was thinking the Honor x9D or the Oppo Pro 6. What are your thots? Stop giving bad advice, retard. gorhill himself does not suggest enabling additional filter lists unless you specifically need one of them for a specific site or issue. The more filter lists you enable the more problems you'll have.
>Filter lists that are not enabled by default might have lower quality standards of filters and might overlap and on sites disable higher quality filters and give you worse ad/tracking blocking in the end.
>Additional filter lists will hurt performance.
>Additional filter lists will hurt site compatibility.

My favourite feature about the about the MX Master series of mice is not the side side scroll wheel but the automatic maglock on the primary scroll wheel. When you scroll slowly you get normal tactile steps but when you scroll fast the maglock automatically disengages and you get free rolling momentum scrolling.
It's very nice for scrolling through long documents like source code or 4chan pages.

"organized in categories" is what phones do, and especially "automatically organized" is wrong. that's real idiocracy combined with petting the baby ducks

with a start screen you can group shit however you want. it's actually like desktop icons but better, since it goes temporarily over open windows, instead of having to minimize windows to get to it
>>
>>107671637
>no way to pirate
that's not true, though piracy was quite different then. i'm not old enough to have seen that first hand (i was 5 in 1995) but i have since learned of what people did (ftp servers, bbs's, sneakernets, mailing floppies, etc). it's certainly more accessible now but people absolutely pirated software well before 1995. many groups you've heard of like razor1911 started in the '80s

that's like saying "just use your phone" when you have a nice, physical keyboard. A dedicated calculator with its tactile feedback and being purpose built have its advantages.
