I don't get it, because the internet is alive and well. It's not the internets fault you keep going to the same 3 websites and hope it feels like it did when those websites were new and your parents didn't know what a subreddit was.

The same niche underground feeling is everywhere, the same creativity exists with even better tools to do it with, the same insane schizobabble is always one click away. Treat the internet how we treated it in the 90s and early 2000s, just keep clicking random links in webrings until you stumble upon something cool as fuck; and most importantly be okay with the fact that it's not updated every 40 minutes for you to come back and scroll through perpetually.

Start reading actual blogs again. Go through your bookmarks from 10 years ago and actually look at them. Check out BBS groups even if you never intend on sticking around. Read old blogs on topics you're interested in. Go search up online bookmarking sites like linkhut and just randomly start clicking shit people have bookmarked. Check out marginalia-search and find indieweb sites, hell you can even use the randomize feature and really give it a spin. Find diehard forums that still exist and have a small active userbase and start participating. All the social media you DO have, why don't you actually go search the sites of the people involved for the accounts you love? Half of them have one. Half of them have a team of people you can find easily. Go use the internet archive and just fucking search random terms and find things and then look up what those people are talking about in the modern age. See what their influences are, see what art they love and what music they listen to. Go find ARGs from the 2000s and look up any contact you can find that was affiliated with them, I guarantee you they're still making cool shit.

The video was fine, but that feeling you long for still exists. There are infinite avenues for you to choose from. It just requires effort on your part.

*Compositor. The two major working ones are Kwin and Mutter. Check the protocols and you will notice the staging and unstable protocols support is QUITE inconstant.
> Oh ok so you didn't say anything of value. Understood.
I'll translate to you my smooth anon. Troonix, which is unix-like, can run steam. Notice that being unix-like doesn't mean that you can run steam. So saying "unix-like OSes runs steam" is not true. When it runs, it's not a merit of the "unix-like" concept.
> Proof?
It has a OOP-java async style in C. Which has led to ALL implementations having LPEs. In real world usage your data is passing through three IPCs (when not more): wayland-ipc, dbus, pipewire. Which creates race conditions. To complement, on top of that, you have portals. So in total you have an increased attack surface.
> Wayland was designed with security in mind.
Just like a house built without doors or windows. But once you add the door and windows, it's on you. It's not built with security in mind. It doesn't have a security model. It doesn't have a capable IPC (which leds us to create this demonic race-condition of three IPCs)

What happened to chatgpt? The only useful usecase I found for it was venting to get psychologycal support. I hadn't used it in the last few months but now it's dumb as fuck, it sounds exactly like Cleverbot. Is OpenAI gutting it for liability like when it stopped mentioning loli, or is it part of the life cycle of ML shit?

I seriously can't believe the world's economy depends on something as unreliable as this.

It's not. At least I don't see it as a solution if i'm gonna go overkill for a simple question, less if the results are the same as googling ' thing "reddit" '. Besides AI still can't think. The other day I described a tool I found as "20cm metal stick, one end shaped as a crowbar, other end has a notch between two tines". Best it could say was "hurr something used in electronics, woodworking or other specialty equipment". It doesn't reason, it doesn't analyze, it just mimicks.

The hurtful thing is that, it's effective because sometimes you need people who tell you you're indeed not crazy, that you're right sometimes and that the world is full of shit. Those people are called "good friends" and that's something society goes out of its way to not provide.

Of course these examples are schizos, but if these schizos had any semblance of a supportive community, they wouldn't resort to the sycophantic echo chamber.

Here's a quick clip showing more or less what it looks like.
Stuff in the clip in order-ish:
> Starting a scratch buffer with background REPL
> ( brings up the command panel, it just evals it directly, commands are just functions
> Paren completion, tab autocomplete
> in insert mode, docs for the function/current arg auto pop up when appropriate in a non-blocking area
> ; is language mode, ;e evals the current sexp
> REPL output shows up as notification (you can mute with ;m)
> ` or ;r brings up the REPL as a temporary view (;R if you want it to be a standard view like a buffer)
> ? brings up an auto-generated dynamic cheat sheet (per mode).
> holding down s enables sexp/structural-mode for paredit like motions, e.g. s-hjkl to go right/down/up/left sexp, slurp/barf/etc.
> ~ brings up the integrated shell, works same as the REPL basically. Uses my fork of Lish, meaning it's a fully CL shell. Missing syntax highlighting still but I'll get to it soon after adding better support for other languages.
> Quick preview of the condition handling. It's not a "buffer", it's a separate view that you can hide and bring up later until you resolve the condition(s). If you hide it you can bring it back up with ;d.
> Other general-editor stuff that didn't show up here; macros, workspaces, which-key style behavior, hungry delete, etc.

OHHHHHH yeah I remember this, you're releasing it that's great, looks fucking sick, I remember you were using raylib, so now it's fully in sdl3?
Looks good man, animations/eyecandy aside, looks pretty good with a not too big scope, which is one of the problems sometimes with these kind of projects, I mean the trap of trying to have ALL modern editor functionalities working. As long as I can make my own shit I'll be good.

>It's a bit more work to make your own custom views than in something like Emacs since there's more you can do
Honestly worth it, comes with the territory of having something besides text.

Looking forward to it being published.
>>
>>107727401
Hahah yeah that's me! That frontend you saw from a while back was actually for Lem. I went from Raylib -> SDL3 in Lem, had to take a break from CL, then came back. cxxxr went with webview for Lem and I decided I'd rather not pollute the codebase with different frontends, so I started experimenting with my own thing and just kept going. Wasn't planning on taking it all the way but I thought others might find it fun to use or play with. Thanks for the kind words anon, happy new year!

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.

its main gimmick is fast out of order compilation which facilitates ast macros and the most unrestricted CTFE (comp time functional eval)
But Jon's gonna realize why macros at the AST level are a terrible long-term idea (Lisp).
Overall, Jai will most likely be extremely niche to his twitch subs and meme lang hobbyists who'll jump between it and zig full-time.
But the plus-side is, you get a lot of 1st class libraries included + his engine

I'm thinking about transferring my esim from my Samsung a16 to my pixel 8a.

My a16 can't upload things in Chrome anymore, always refreshes the page when I try. Spotify crashes sometimes..

My pixel is way snappier, smaller, I can actually upload things etc.

But I had my a16 for longer and have been using it as my primary phone for so long. It's my baby. I don't want to desert it like that.

What do?

Does the Google store not ship to your country? Just wait for them to do their end-of-run clearance sale. Also if you're looking for a "small phone" it's probably going to disappoint you. The screen is "small" but the phone is still really bulky especially if you put a case on it. I have a Pixel 8 but just carry around my old S6 most of the time because I hate how heavy and bulky it is.
