One day when I was really bored I did this with hundreds of newsletters. I made a simple bash script that would sign a person up for all of them at once. Any time some person annoyed me really bad I'd just stick their email in there and let it rip.

Is there a reason for me to use a different terminal emulator than the default on my system? I've just been using Konsole from KDE.
>>
>>107653185
Not much. You could probably get by still with 1GB or 2GB even like on the cheapo NVIDIA GPU's you can still buy "brand new" today.

The biggest issue is the lack of video decoding acceleration but that's not an issue if the CPU is good (which it is because it has my old 3950X in it which is still an absolute beast and blew up the cheap power supply that was in the system initially until it was replaced with a good EVGA one)

Bazzite is bad because its based on Fedora atomic ostree rather than A/B like steamOS does.

Everything is a flatpak even system kcalc and dolphin, so everything is slow and loads slower and its noticeable vs snappy fast loading in arch KDE.

Flatpaks are fine with GUI desktop apps like a browser, GIMP, OBS but system utils should load instantly, like the file manager or a calculator.

The best "windows 11" like distro is arch+KDE using flatpaks through discover but normies wont install that. That is essentially what SteamOS is. Yet nobody has recreated a steamOS like experience.

Valve is still dragging their ass with creating a desktop ISO for steamOS, despite nvidia support being well supported with wayland/KDE enough to be implemented.

CachyOS exists but its jeeted, Same with endeavorOS.
They expect new users to use octopi, so great another failure on the linux desktop.

I was about to get a tablet, then I thought it's useless, my flagship smartphone has way more power.

What am I going to do with a tablet? Have a slightly bigger screen?

I can use the Android Desktop mode(or Samsung's), a terminal emulator, and I can run a Desktop Environment and everything.

What do you think? One is a portable monitor with a battery and a wireless display, the other ones are glasses that supposedly give you a 4k screen. Has anyone tried the glasses? Do you have advice and recommendations, with prices too? Regards.

Finally, somebody will make a good Linux desktop. No more of these shitty hobbyist distros like CachyOS, Mint, and MX Linux.

We will leave Windows and even some of those Linux distros for Google's desktop OS in 2026.

The one thing that ultimately defines a desktop OS is good multimedia support, which troonix wasn't designed for, but even if it was, hardware manufacturers still wouldn't provide good drivers due to Micropozz and FagOS binopolies.

Not happening now, not happening ever.

It's OpenBSD without the ideological autism. I highly recommend it.
>Journaling FFSv2ea that supports extended attributes and simple snapshots
>ZFS available too, if you deem it necessary. Not OpenZFS.
>Excellent in-house software: NVMM, NPF, pkgsrc
>In-kernel sound server straight from Solaris
>Supports Bluetooth, Nvidia with nouveau, WINE
>pkgin package manager is friendly and also fast like apt
Regarding security, it has ASLR, KASLR, SMAP/SMEP, PaX Segvguard, PIEs, Veriexec, kauth, among others.
The drawbacks are the worst consumer hardware support among all BSDs (except DragonFly and Midnight) and lower software availability. It has Chromium and Firefox though.
>>
>>107653159
Everything in NetBSD has excellent code quality and documentation. You can literally start working on kernel hacking day one.

There is at least one feature that is unique to NetBSD: rumpkernels. It lets you reuse kernel modules in userspace. Thanks to rump kernels on netbsd mounting an external drive will be done in userspace with exactly the same code used in kernel space. Same could be done with drivers. This is a huge security improvement and I’m surprised openbsd didn’t adopt the technology

god I love this language. like saying "fuck the constraints of good design and sound logic, how fucking weird can we *really* get with a programming language?". wrote a few shitty webapps with mojolicious in it. even got paid for some of them
could only recommend picking it up these days if you're doing a lot of awk/sed/grep-style data-munging on a linix or bsd system. it's based af for one-off scripts
re: perl or php, they're both perfectly capable of doing backend work. most turing-complete languages are these days. just pick any one and get good at the concepts instead of getting bogged down with the particular language.

I use it for virtually all scripts. The built in regex is super intuitive and top of the line. It's C but you can be up and running in 1/1000 the time.

Far better would be to require someone to show up to a physical location to drop their resume off, or else require a referral.

The whole point is to reduce the quantity of random applicants shitting in your inbox. Add some kind of a cost for someone applying to your company. Adding an application fee is trying to accomplish this, but has the obvious problem of perverse incentives (the company now benefits from large numbers of applications). So a more appropriate way to do this is to require the applicant to commit some other kind of resource, like time or connections, or to just restrict based on location.

It might be cheaper for a company past a certain size to run job fairs than to suffer the costs of random resume spammers.
