>>107597666>is this the power of paying a fair price for labour?in fact the bug bounty programs are incredibly cheap you get the best of best hacking your stuff and submitting fixes for few thousands which for big companies might as well be pennieslike remember they're paying h1b jeets hundreds of thousands per year to pretend to be working or vibecode some retarded broken shit because the big companies have been turned into h1b scam pipelines where jeet HRs recruit their own from india and get kickbacks from the salary, they're looting the companies for millions and millions in salariesmeanwhile some actually mega skilled coder from eastern europ doesnt get paid any salary but only for results and he gets paid few thousand per some critical bug and does more for the company than 10 salaried jeets do for fraction the price
>>107595503well no shit dumbass. GPL is based on the correct principle that NOT distributing the source along with the binary requires either social or technical hacks or both that do not need to be tolerated. GPL assumes no distinction between source and binary except possible user convenience and distribution pattern. there is no technical difference, they are both "the software" so they by all reason should both be distributed to anyone the software is available to. NOTHING in GPL prevents you from closed betas, only collabing with a small group, only releasing to a small group of users. and says nothing about keeping secrets. you can keep all the secrets you want. but to whomever you give the software out, DO NOT use slimy tricks against them to restrict their access to only a side-effect of your code (compiled binary). you are doing them a disservice.

I might be an idiot and I don't know why. I just spent a good while making a bash script to compare two video files to see which one is better quality.Pretty simple right? Just use ffmpeg to measure PSNR or SSIM or VMAF.Well for some reason I decided fuck that I'll do it my own ass backwards way.My way consists of extracting individual frames from each video at specified timestamps (let's say every 10% of the duration) and then comparing each one using imagemagick to compare with rmse and generate a report with the score for each compared frame and a final average score across all extracted frames. If the current frames have a large discrepancy in their scores it creates an A/B image for manual inspection. If the average scores is good the report says keep the new version, otherwise keep the old. What the fuck was my problem? Why didn't I just use the normal methods?I knew about VMAF etc beforehand but I didn't use it.There was a reason and I can't remember at all why.Anyone here know their shit about ffmpeg and imagemagick who can shed some light on why I wouldn't have used ffmpeg and whether or not my method is a complete waste of time that doesn't produce useful data?

A few threads back I was looking for nice silicone USB C cables capable of 240w.I even bought a tester too just to verify them. It all arrived recently and here's my verdict.Unfortunately I'm unable to test any relevant metrics for whether they're good or not lol. I don't have anything that draws 240w via USB and I don't have the means to test transfer rate.I bought three cables, two are unbranded from ZUIDID store and the other is by Orico. I had high hopes for the Orico because while it's an unknown brand in general their reputation amongst certain niche groups like data hoarders is that they're decent quality for low cost. What actually happened though is the two unbranded cables seem way better in my opinion. Unbranded are made from real silicone, nice and soft and flexible. The end fittings seem good quality too. One of these cables is half the price of the Orico. The Orico on the other hand I'm almost certain is not silicone. It's a weird halfway material that's softer than regular plastic sheathing but much rougher and less flexible than silicone. Fittings are okay but bulky, you might run into issues with ports that have housings around them. The Orico one is supposedly capable of 20gbps transfer speed but again I can't test this so who knows. All cables claim 240w support but I can only confirm 45-50w. Not because they can't do more, I just can't test any higher. All cables were supposed to be 2m long but they're all a bit shorter.Tl;dr: if you want nice silicone cables that are a decent length and can probably do high wattage then search for liquid silicone USB C cables and buy from ZUIDID. Avoid Orico unless you need good transfer speeds too and are willing to gamble.ZUIDID also offers cool colors so if you need your dose you can get it.
