Big search engines like Google and Bing are well known to track searchers activity and sell that data to advertisers — which is why many of us don’t feel comfortable searching freely anymore.
If you’re looking for more private alternatives, here are a few I’ve come across. I’d love to hear what others are using too!

DuckDuckGo – Great for simple, untracked searches
Startpage – Delivers Google results without the profiling
Brave Search – Strong privacy with its own independent index
MyAllSearch – Clean interface with a focus on user privacy
Qwant – GDPR-compliant, with servers based in Europe
Dogpile – A metasearch engine that pulls top results from Bing, Yandex, and more

Please share anymore Iv'e missed, I'm always curious to discover new ones.

Caveat: Not useful as a full-on DDG/Google/etc replacement. Useful for researching topics where you don't need cutting edge up to date info from Reddit and other epic platforms/metaverses.

I don't like google because of the toaster-sharted "people also ask" search suggestions that remind me of interacting with esl normies on Discord

You don't like google because you've gaslit yourself into thinking that there's some way forward to privacy.

Anyone here using a Robot Vacuum? I'm thinking of getting an X40 Ultra and flashing it with Valetudo. I can get it for $1,700 AUD now (~$1,100 USD) but I'm thinking it might get cheaper on Black Friday.

I rinse it first, but if I straight up scrubbed the dished beforehand, then I might as well wash them myself, which defeats the purpose.

is there a robot mop yet? small particles of dust which have not adhered to the surface can be cleaned in literally 30 seconds even for large spaces. the real problems are those which require a mop.

>crazy calculus and linear algebra
>how was i supposed to know what little indians and big indians are ffs
Je parie que ton prof l'a mentionné mais que t'as pas pris de notes parce que t'es prétentieux et que tu te crois trop bon pour devoir prendre des notes.

What? My course was full of webdev, first backend using .NET and then frontend with Angular. The classes were very good, and the prof also led advanced databases class.

nta but you people who act like the C standard is the only thing that defines the behavior of C programs in the entire world and call everyone else who disagrees retards are the real retards. Its the literal IQ bell curve meme. The C standard does not define the behavior when you cast a function pointer to a void pointer, but POSIX does, does that mean that every C program that casts a function pointer to a void pointer is invalid because the C standard specifically doesn't define the behavior? No. If that program targets a POSIX system, it's perfectly valid! The linux kernel relies on TONS and I mean TONS of behavior that isn't defined by the C standard, why? Because that behavior is defined by the C implementation they use: gcc. Are all linux kernel developers retards? Is Linus a retard?

But none of this really matters. Because the exam question being discussed here isn't testing your understanding of the C language or the various implementations thereof. It's testing your BASIC understanding of computer architectural fundamentals, it just happens to use a generic C program to try and test that, because specifying a hyper specific system where walking through a uint64_t with a char pointer is guaranteed to preserve endianess is just a pain in the ass, and most competent students will understand that the question is an endianness question. If you don't want to learn the fundamentals of computing what the fuck are you doing trying to get a university degree? If you just want to churn out non performent, half baked, shit apps that reimplements something that's already been implemented thousands of times, go play around with an LLM, you're not going to bring anything of value to the table with your half baked understanding of computer systems.

This. For some retarded reason, SSD/NVMe are the only pieces of hardware which apparently gotta last for thousands of years.

When GPU/CPU/RAM etc die nobody says anything. But when a nvme from someone's favorite brand dies, it's ALWAYS something else that killed it such as windows, bad cpu overclock, bad psu, bad electricity, anything but admitting their beloved brand cut some corners and used shitty components making the ssd die in just a few months.
>>
Give it to me straight: why are MacOS updates so slow compared to Windows?
>>
>>106524718
To be expected with the progressive enshittification of SSDs from SLC > MLC > TLC > QLC
