>Nvidia plans to start its cuts by targeting its RTX 5060 Ti 16GB and RTX 5070 Ti. Targeting the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB makes sense, as this GPU has the same amount of memory as an RTX 5080, a much more expensive GPU. The same is true for the RTX 5070 Ti. It’s memory could also be used for more profitable RTX 5080 GPUs.

this can't be fucking real, wtf

I'm officially washing my hands of the Wikimedia Foundation (aka Wokemedia Foundation) and Wikipedia. I've already been banned for years for doing protest vandalism but I won't even try to edit anymore as its not worth the effort as admins are always lurking recent changes to revert shit. Wikipedia has been taken over by mentally ill admins and a clique of "extended confirmed" users who anonymously label prominent figures as Nazis with paraphrased "reliable sources" (with a shitlist of sources they don't like) and push constant woke "facts" in the did you know section of the main page. They even broke the online safety act (and their own terms of use) a few days ago by showing a flashing image on the main page.

I looked at the financial reports and Wikimedia has scammed people out of almost $1 billion dollars over 25 years, when they only need a million a year to host mostly static pages from cache and minimal javascript like search suggestions.

Wikipedia needs to be investigated and admins forced to explain themselves. People are literally getting hurt because of Wikipedia. Jimmy Wales is the ultimate loser of the internet.

It's to create artificial work for programmers and managers that would otherwise be fired since new operating system versions generally don't require complete rewrites.

Windows 8 was a downgrade, Windows 10 was terrible, Windows 11 is a massive fucking turd.
If they actually start creating proper Rust tooling for Windows, we might actually start seeing fast applications that are light on RAM use. This is a real chance for things to improve.

It's clear that the Jeets in charge of MS code now can't deal with 30 year old legact C++ shit and it's not even their fault. It's C++, if you weren't there when it was written, you have no idea what insane invariants the code implicitly has.

As a security paradigm have we transcended this as genuinely being secure in this day and age?

OP 13 on Android 16 here. Can anyone tell me why this is stuck on my lock screen? This just happened at random and clearing cache and deleting/reinstalling Spotify doesn't get rid of it. Swiping on it gets rid of it at first but it eventually comes back. Tapping on the media player itself or any of the buttons does nothing either.

The tide is turning. Microsoft just announced they are going to turn their OS into AI slop in order to rewrite everything.
Valve is about to entrench Linux as a solid choice for gaming with their upcoming Steam machine.

ARM, Android, and even simple hobbyist Linux devices like the raspberry pi have been chipping away at Windows + x86 dominance for many years now. Many people who don't currently use Linux are familiar with it enough now and could tolerate using it if they had to.

Valve is going to usher in the next era. Laptops and even custom desktop PCs will be built without x86. Apple is promoting the processor transition right now. Consumers want efficient, low power, low heat processors that don't drain battery life. Have you used a new MacBook lately?

Windows only games will be made for a little longer but Linux compatibility through Wine will be made increasingly official and reliable. Finally, the end result is going to be a Unix future. Tech illiterates will own a Mac. Serious PC gamers will run Linux. This future will be made possible by Valve and Apple enabling consumers to walk away from Microsoft without turning back.

I made a website with some educational tools, like an interactive periodic table and charts with basic formulas for different areas of physics, scientific resources like that, a coin toss simulator, and other curiosities. It's public, but I did not share it anywhere yet. I feel it's not ready for launch, so it barely gets any views.

I'm a total amateur. I come from graphic design and learned HTML/CSS/JS on my own, which was all I really needed. While I started the project for fun, now I think it's genuinely useful for students. I want to know what the next steps are here, perhaps a way to make some money out of it, even if just a little. So far, all I have is a donation button just in case, but none so far. Is ad revenue from regular websites still a thing? Should I make it into a downloadable app instead?

The website is not revolutionary or anything, but the idea is to pack a lot of useful basic-level stuff into a nice, clean design. I'm not sure if there is space for this or if I am wasting my time on a dead project.

I just redid a single-page site to use @scope instead of BEM like I normally do. I'm not sure if I like it yet. I'm worried I'm going to miss being able to select a long-ass BEM class name and have it be unique across an entire site (so find-and-replace for anything with it is guaranteed to be exhaustive).
Pic related used to have more classes and also way longer classes
but now I can get away with selectors like ` ` (the descendant selector) and just have a dumbass div or aside
