I think you'll have a decent time with the Wimius. A lot of the projectors I tested were random ass no name brands but Wimius were one of the few who are semi established and actually seem to be trying to make it as a projector manufacturer/seller.
I gave one of theirs to a family member who loves it. I couldn't use it because of the input lag.
Some of the issues I mentioned in previous posts with input lag and motion will persist however. On some models they're OK until you get into software adjustments and start adjusting the keystone correction digitally, which can introduce the lag. Also even across the same brand like Wimius, some of their models can randomly not have basic software features like changing the tint colour or audio settings. Autofocus is handy. 450 ANSI is fine but still preferable for dark. You should still be able to see the picture in the light though but not in an ideal way.

Wimius are also the brand that offered me a chance to shill for them in exchange for free products. I turned it down. I use Projectors way less now. A lot of the ones I got during that time sit around unused. The one I do use now is the GooDee YG600 (maybe plus?). It's under advertised weirdly because it supports HDR on my PS5 but that isn't listed in the specs anywhere. Still has input lag tho

they are bad from a technical perspective, but if you want looks, i am not going to lie, it has it
>>107734308
well if they are at least only pretending to use tubes, it may not be that bad

i find funny that even if you for some reason wants to use tubes, people that claim they do for their quality are using the old style crystal ones instead of the minituarized metallic more modern ones.

Does anyone know of any economical way to use a bunch of older / smaller HDDs on a system that can't fit more internal HDDs (as in, no more physical space and no more ports)?

I'm going to remove 9 3TB HDDs from my server since I replaced this old array with a new one using 16TB drives instead. Still these HDDs are all working perfectly fine, so it would be nice to use them for backup storage instead. Problem is that my backup PC is already full of drives.

I've looked for multi-bay USB enclosures but these seem to be so expensive that buying one for 3TB drives isn't worth it really. Like I can get a new 10TB+ external drive for the money a 5-bay enclosure costs. Doesn't seem worth it to pay that much to use old and relatively small drives. The alternative would be to get a bigger case and put in a HBA into my backup PC, but a case with a lot of 3.5" HDD bays also seems to be pretty spicy nowadays.

How the hell do my fellow /hsg/ anons make use of old, lower capacity drives?

I'm torn here. I quite like reading simonw's stuff, but he does overwhelmingly use HN to promote his site and that's supposed to be against the guidelines.
dang is clearly bending the rules for him, but I think it's less because of a pro-AI bias and more because his content is well-liked and HN regulars wouldn't want him to stop posting there.

>>
>>107729443
I did enable multimedia codecs during installation. I checked to see if I had mint-meta-codecs and I did. I'm gonna give up and say its probably an issue with my CPU not being able to handle these high bitrate videos. The videos only played smoothly in mpv with my laptop plugged in. VLC refused to play the video, only displaying a black screen, though the audio was playing. Though I could've sworn that Fedora was able to play the video in VLC without needing to be plugged in...I'll check. I appreciate you even taking the time to help.
>>
>>107734721
When you're dealing with a very convoluted list generation that can't be done with find or a bash one liner, you either can't use parallel or don't care about parallelism or tracking errors, and you also have GNU xargs, because every other implementation is cancer.

Another one down! My fellow Americans, we are winning the long battle.
Stauton VA is another on the list of cancelling Flock contracts and getting AI surveilance cameras out of their city and allowing the people to "get a breath of fresh air without us knowing".
There is still hope and still good in people realizing this is transforming the nation into another CCP or N Korea state. The trial for the Instutite for Justice v. City of Norfolk Va is imminent. There is a way out of this hell.
