>>107736156They spoke of the process a little, so basically they're just shilling their own and I shouldn't worry about whatever woes WAI, JANKU, Hassaku, or whatever else has? At the very least, the rate of horror hands wasn't any lower (or higher for that matter) between WAI v12 and richyrichMixIXL-v1.fp16. Granted, I suspect you'd need to prompt something especially elaborate involving hands for that to happen these days. Hands clasped together in prayer invokes images of spaghetti.
>>107736187i would have to have seen the full convo to know for sure. i barely check the server nowdays though. something like interlocked fingers giving spaghetti is an SDXL limitation i believe due to the VAE. NAI doesn't do it very well either honestly. thats something youll either need to draw over manually and inpaint the area with a low denoise or ask a big model like nano banana to fix assuming the image is sfw
>>107736017
>>107736237Rather not dox myself, so no screencaps. Hell, even their faq channel ends with it saying that if any issue is encountered and WAI is the checkpoint, then ditch WAI. Not a good selling point but I have been sticking with the CFG at 5 and steps at 25, which makes batch gens come out a little faster. Though while I'm here, I'd like a second opinion on prompt order and prompt mixing. They say the former has no bearing on the final result, while the latter varies. "short black hair" in lieu of "short hair, black hair" is bad while replacing "pleated skirt, white skirt" with "white pleated skirt" sometimes works but my experiences tell me it radically depends more on the LoRA. Without any character LoRA and relying solely on the checkpoint, I can gen miniskirts true micro skirts without issue. Throw in a character LoRA and even "sling bikini top" is a crapshoot with most character LoRAs, which is a pet peeve considering what I'm trying to do.
>>107736353i believe it depends solely on how the data was captioned. i remember that angel (illustrious creator) said they condensed redundant tags for illustrious, so black hair and long hair would be long black hair or black long hair (cant remember which). the lora creator probably just used a danbooru auto tagger and didnt condense the tags

Where did Microsoft go wrong /g/?People used to love Windows.
>>107718234They never were good good, that's the problem.Microsoft became powerhouse because they made few okayish tools when there was little to no alternatives and then maintained that position with OEM deals making them de facto the default option.
>>107730589It doesn't reflect actual users.
>>107728887How do you not understand the incentives to making these videos? The goal of any AI video is to appeal to someone's interests and get them to watch long enough for it to generate ad revenue. Obviously there is a crowd of retarded linux users that watch the videos, so they will continue to be produced. Even if there was no audience, they would still be produced because it is slop. Slop does not need an audience, it is just dumped into the trough for anyone to stick their head into.
>>107718234Windows was always shit. The last tolerable release was Windows 7. Bill Gates is cancer. Microsoft is a shit company filled with aliens. Their OS spys on you. Every change to the UI is looks worse.
>>107718234>People used to love Windows.bullshit. I would still be using DOS if I could. but you can't do anything without windows. IDGAF about linux. I've used it, it's not better, it's just sucks in different ways.
yeah, i just hacked a smudge tool into ms paint because i felt like it
the only other thing i could want would be like a slider below the brush palette to determine the smudge strength, right now it's 50/50 blend between the sampled color and the destination color. i am doing my color blending in linear gamma color space like that anon suggested
maybe i can just have a little 3 notch slider to go low(25/75) mid (50/50 what is is now) and high (75/25)
>>107736079Paint was never intended to be a professional image editor. Smudge might not seem like a big deal now, but paint dates back to 1995 where the bar was much lower for a basic image editor. After initial release paint basically got no further features, and actually lost a few over the years.
>>107736079>why didnt PAINT have a smudge tool, blows my mindIt was made in a time when most peoples graphics cards were still using 16 or 256 colors.
Glad you're enjoying yourself extending the features of a classic tool. Good thread. Makes me wish someone would make a reverse-engineered version like the 3D Pinball source ports.

>>107731379>1 Wikipedia article page saved as ASCII text takes up 25KB at the lowest. There's a reason compression programs like pkzip were popular back then. Deflate compression doesn't need much CPU or RAM, and squeezes ASCII prose text down to 10-20% of the space it normally takes up.

>>107735248USA academia is a joke. I started down the AI path and quit after I got my bachelor's.
>>107735248There are more Chinese then all westerners combined. If you took just US research alone by numbers chinks should be innovating 4x+ faster. Also westerners are older, chinks are about decade away from their own much worse population decline because they developed later. And finally US society rewards jewish money tricks over producing products, which results in business being number 1 most popular major as opposed to engineering like in China, so the percentage of Chinese in AI research is higher.

these sff-8088/8643 to sff-8482 cables worth with sata as well as sas correct?

>>107735290I know about external disk shelf type devices, but I strongly doubt I could come out cheaper with one of those than with buying a regular PC case with more bays. I also don't have a rack to mount such a thing in, I don't think it would work out well in terms of form factor either, which is why I wasn't really considering one.I should stress I'm looking for something economical. The drives are quite small, old and well-used. There's no point spending large amounts of money to use them again if I can spend that same money on a brand new 20TB external drive for example. If I can't find something quite cheap to put these drives to use again then I'd rather leave them be, or indeed use them via some desktop HDD dock, one at a time for some data that isn't going to be changing.
>>107736057I think the SFF-8482 SAS socket can also interface with the whole SATA interface (data+power)which is why power still has to be "passed through"
