I've found my CD ROM collection from the 90s. I am in awe at what software used to be like. I can't explain it... can anyone put it into words?

It's strange that all the aesthetics and stuff came back to me, almost instantly. I don't even know where I'm going with this post. Computers used to be fun.

A lot of good games back then you had to shut off windows and run it in dos. I'll never forget you EMS memory warning for the x-wing and tie fighter collectors cd's.

Do we have at least one weirdo on this board doing an MS-DOS project for run?

Wrote a shitty Forth in C using djgpp. Writing a Forth in assembly is so much nicer so that's what I might do next. I also messed around in dxforth which is quite nice. Wrote a test project to see how graphics output works and set up packet drivers to see how one would do network programming.

MSDOS is unironically a great platform for running single applications.

anyone screeching like a vegan about privacy on 4Chitwood is a hypocritical nigger
if you actually gave a shit about your privacy then you wouldn't be here voluntarily begging the NSA to analyze and track every post you make on the biggest fake anonymity honeypot on earth
if you preach about privacy on 4Chitwood you've already proven you don't give a single fuck about privacy
i bet you preach about privacy while posting all day on facebook too you virtue signaling nigger
if you care about privacy then prove it and fuck off and don't come back
or just keep proving in this thread with every post you make that you don't give a single fuck about privacy and are just a virtue signaling nigger

> be me, Nepali expat
> wake up Sept 4, apps gone: FB, IG, WhatsApp, YT, X, Reddit, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Pinterest, Signal, Clubhouse, Rumble +14 more
Actual scoop:
- Supreme Court ordered social platforms to register locally by Aug 28 or face shutdown
- 26 platforms blacked out; only TikTok & Viber complied
Gov’t stance on VPNs:
- Official decree labels VPNs “unregistered tunnels” and “cyberthreats”
- State media warns: using VPN is unsafe, illegal, may lead to fines or arrest
Why it matters:
1. Freedom of speech wiped out for 30M Nepalis
2. Creators & small businesses lose income overnight
3. People forced to VPN risk legal trouble on top of surveillance
