Theoretically, can you completely de-India your computer by only using software without any Indian commits? Linus removed all Russian code from the Linux kernel, so something like this is certainly doable.

What's a good base to start with for building a non-Indian OS under a free licence? Arch?

I miss when most distros didn't have working wifi out of the box and you had to tool around finding the firmware for your adapter

Now a Debian install takes the better half of 10 minutes.
It should take an evening.

Has Arch been lobotomized the same way? should I switch?

Install Gentoo
>>
>>106497862
Arch always had better hardware suppport.
Both newer kernel and lack of aversion from proprietary firmware. Debian's DFSG was the reason for most of the issues you mentioned but starting with debian 12 they made an exception for non-free firmware, separated it into a different repo, and now it's enabled by default.
>>
>>106500325
>>106500876
Gentoo gives you everything just like any other linux distro does. People just mystify it without even trying it once.

I feel bad for the plebs who will never experience the joy of listening to their favorite dad rock records through the McIntosh, it's a superlative experience, only rivalled by the time I bought my CD shaver for superior light transmission, or installing a new electricity pole to reduce background hum, or switching to digital inputs and outputs on everything, or that 10 grand I spent on bags of magic rocks from that shifty guy behind the pub.

No, I want _more_ fancy gizmos and not less behind-the-scenes crap that'd make my experience worse. CD-text capable display, spectrum/levels indicators, tracks diagram, track quick access keyboard, play order programmer, repeat button, headphone amp with volume control, display dimmer, VFD display and more.
I want to feel like Premium User again.

Everything is already from China, but here we discuss the cheap chink shit you see on various sites.
1st rule of /csg/: If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

It's very much a combination of playing the games, stacking various different boni (coins, credits, coupons, sales, bundles) and a bit of luck. Trust me when I say that the 0$ items on ali and temu aren't worth it.

The goldilocks zone, if you want to actually enjoy /csg/, is in the middle, where you pay exceedingly little for the relatively high quality you get.
You don't want those 2$ TWS, because they'll have connection issues, bad battery life, and be a hassle to pair.
You don't want those 200$ TWS, because they'll never come close to justifying their price and you'll have to baby them so as to not lose or damage them.
But those 20$ TWS that offer you 95% of the experience of the exensive ones? Those are just right.
This logic applies to basically all items discussed here, and learning where that goldilocks zone lies for each category of item and being able to tell so from the listing is the skill that the more advanced csg-wizards have mastered.

I update them but, the vector of attack are broken plugins, or even worse broken themes.

There are some website that are made to look a certain way and I cannot change them without breaking them and they would use like 7 years old theme that are un-updatable.

This is a list of some of them

>>
>>106499959
Huh, I had seen quite a few Wordpress sites get hacked before, but I had no idea about the causes. Thanks for the info. I don't know if there's any way to fix it though if you can't change the themes.

Security starts at the user - and if the user is some autistic child whose existence has always been funded by the government, and has no idea how reality works, he's going to be fucked no matter what OS he runs.

I was a wikipedia editor for 5 years. Not to sound smug about it, but the general article quality in my field of expertise (that I have a phd for) was abysmal and I was bringing it up to current academic standards. I've quit this year though after beeing the victim of admin abuse. There was an ideologically driven other author doing an edit war, I called him out and reported him. A first admin basically agreed with me but refused to do anything about it. Then the other user got his friends involved to gang up on me and insult me, including another admin. That's when I quit. I did some research after that though and found out that the hostile author keeps getting temporary bans every year for a decade now for insults and edit wars, but is protected because he's a tranny.
