What are /g/ approved drawing tablet brands? Jewcom is overpriced, and Xencelabs is trying to be Jewcom v2.0. What do you think about XP-Pen and Huion?

The real question is whether there's anything good for drawing on GNU/Linux. Krita exists but I literally don't see anyone using it at all on Windows, which implies that superior options exist.
>>
>>106491806
Unironically buy an iPad and apple pencil. It minimizes the barrier to drawing.

XP-pen is fine but I only have experience with their non-screen tablets. Good value for money. Huion's okay

Anyone notice how this doesn't happen anymore after Google/AI/Wikipedia? You can no longer be "the computer guy" or "the science guy" or "the guy who knows sports stats" or "the guy who told jokes he saw on The Simpsons". Because now everyone knows these things at all times.

if loli hentai is illegal then shooting, slashing people in games should be illegal too
if loli hentai is sexual activity with a fictional minor then any FPS game featuring humans as enemies is murder on fictional people
with that in mind both of these should be illegal or both of them shouldn't be illegal
by extensions books, movies and any type of entertainment featuring the same type of content should be treated the same way

I miss when most distros didn't have working wifi out of the box and you had to tool around finding the firmware for your adapter

Now a Debian install takes the better half of 10 minutes.
It should take an evening.

Has Arch been lobotomized the same way? should I switch?

Arch always had better hardware suppport.
Both newer kernel and lack of aversion from proprietary firmware. Debian's DFSG was the reason for most of the issues you mentioned but starting with debian 12 they made an exception for non-free firmware, separated it into a different repo, and now it's enabled by default.

I have never stopped seething at iphones from when I had one a long time ago. It was always such a pain in the ass to do the simplest of things like just transferring files inbetwen the iphone and computer. It was constantly telling me to get itunes to do that and whatnot, and don't even get me started on them dropping the headphone jack for their lightning crap.
It's probably not like that anymore, but I will never forgive them.

>>106501034
For me it's the unintuitive bad software for the most part and the overpriced hardware. And it's not that that it's so unusable or anything but the Apple ecosystem is just simply really cringe and finnicky.

Simply put, why should I pay two times as much money to cuck my time?

It has a detailed and well-organized docstring. Try doing simple things in the REPL, too. It'll help you get a feel for it.

ELISP> (setq p (rx "#" (group (= 2 hex)) (group (= 2 hex)) (group (= 2 hex))))
"#\\([[:xdigit:]]\\{2\\}\\)\\([[:xdigit:]]\\{2\\}\\)\\([[:xdigit:]]\\{2\\}\\)"

ELISP> (setq s "#655A7C")
"#655A7C"

ELISP> (string-match p s)

(#o0, #x0, ?\C-@)
ELISP> (match-string 1 s)

I hear you. I recently switched to a 42-key dactyl myself (36 + 3x2 thumbs), and to my surprise I found that using numbers and symbols on a layer via a modifier is not so bad. In a way, it's intuitive, and I learned the positions the minute I mapped them (since it was I who mapped them and they immediately made sense to me). Even though I am probably only a little faster with a dedicated number row, I felt more "confident" with a dedicated row as well, if that makes sense. I had to type a couple of regexes that looked like this today
>\"1.4\"
and it's just juggling with fucking modifiers, a pain in the ass. It's bad enough for me to want to make a seperate mapping for the backward slash + quote combo. Or maybe even make a toggle layer for numbers & symbols.
That said, in a certain way, typing symbols and numbers got easier somehow too, in ceratain situations. It's hard to explain. I put all the important symbols on the same split side as the modifier, and it's easier to type "occasionally" than when they were on separate sides. Even somehow better than having a dedicated pinkie. I think I just need to give it more time, as I have been on this only for like a month, to gain the confidence. Will be glad to hear from others of their experiences on symbols and numbers, especially from programmers and vim users.
People also shill homerow mods, but I kind of dislike those, I need my typing experience to be rubust, and hate even thinking about delays.
As for pinkies, I don't think I can survive without at least 4 outer buttons (enter/backspace/quote/tab).
Also check out Apiaster for inspiration, I haven't made it myself, but the docs are dope, and it has a splayed number row.
