So the options are either fnirsi or 200$+ for something decent.
And fnirsi GC-01 requires DIY modifications, like drilling some holes in the back cover so it works better for detecting beta particles, and maybe even replacing the tube itself.

They also seem to have three different detectors available, with GC-03 being a combo detector that works for EMF as well, and judging by its back cover, the tube is already well-exposed and should work better than GC-01.
Seems good, if the other functions work well.

You missed the chance to invest in electronics, computers, software, and IT. All of these industries were whole eras which they dominated. What can be learned from them? Initially they were commercial failures and not profitable.

But now you have a chance. You can invest in emerging AI. Investing in AI now would be like investing in Microsoft in the 1980s

We have to do something about AI generated video.

We can't just have any average person able to create videos and put them on the internet. Think of all the misinformation and harm that could be done.

Now more than ever we have to rally behind trusted creators like Linus from Linus Tech Tips.

I don't mean to start a conspiracy theory here but is it possible that 4chan's dev team members have shit for brains?

How can these technical merits be ignored?
>dual encoding modes (lossy and lossless)
>alpha transparency in both lossy and lossless modes
>20-30% lower file size for similar quality compared to older JPG encoders still used today
>lossy encoding mode restricted to 4:2:0 ensuring 50% less RAM is used compared to 4:4:4 JPG
>supports animations also in dual encoding modes (lossy and lossless)
>operates in both RGB and YUV, no weird in-between conversions required
>90% of web browsers, image editors, image viewer support
>Open source and royalty free
>VERY GOOD replacement for GIF
>GOOD replacement for PNG
>OK replacement for JPG (cannot operate in 4:4:4 in lossy mode)

I found the OG video explaining it further but from my puny level of understanding I webp images should use 50% less RAM than 4:4:4 JPG images since brutally speaking a webp image is nothing more than a fucking VP8 keyframe being looped infinitely. The only scenario where webp would not use 50% less RAM than a 4:4:4 JPG is if the device itself lacked a VP8 video decoder.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP68rCjSSjM

And to be fair nobody would care about this if computers came with like 16GB of RAM but sadly you can still find a lot of 4GB e-waste still being sold today...

After release, we discovered instances where the tool was used in ways inconsistent with the stated intent. Just because people fuck with shit doesn't mean it needed to be fucked with
I have probably the most ridiculous thing you'd call a "NAS" but I otherwise have full confidence that if I stopped doing anything, it would run indefinity and only stopped because of hardware failure.

There is otherwise no magic pixie dust in Synologys and IDK where people get the idea that if you build something you are guaranteed a problem and something prebuilt is immune from everything.
>>
I'm in Canada so the price of these NAS are already bonkers.
I want to build a "poor man" NAS that supports:
- one SSD for OS boot and at least 2 HDD.
- hardware transcoding for Jellyfin
Which old prebuilts from Dell, Thinkpad, HP should I buy?
If not too pricy, which N100 (or better) PC should I buy instead of the prebuilts?
Thanks in advance
