>>
What about it is hard to understand? It's dynamic dispatch. Like interfaces in OOP (the only good part of OOP)
>>
It says everything in plain English. dyn Trait has a pointer that points to the data and another that points to the type basically. This is obviously an oversimplification but that’s about it. The same data can provide different types of information with this.
>>
>>108518910
you know how Java has interfaces and how you can cast implementations of a interface to it? same shit. it's not complex
struct fatptr { data: *mut Data, vtable: *const Fns }

real basic shit.

The one labeled os is my original script and the one labeled ai is the script written by the ai. The first few versions of the script did well and I kept those. However I wanted to see what it would do and just kept letting it make all the changes it wanted and would tell it everything that broke. It seems to get tunnel vision really easy.

All that ``tweet'' says is they weren't at the time able to remove that stuff from the binary. I don't see how that means they won't make what they are now able to remove for a fee, more permanent in the free version.
He is gonna do it, I can feel it. That man has a big chip on his shoulder and although I don't blame him for having it there; he could do well to just knock it off himself. I am more than sure there are investors who are not malicious in spirit, more than willing to keep him and his family & the families of those he has hired fed while allowing the world to use a browser that isn't backed by satan and his synagogue.

I've been trying a bunch of switches and boards for a few years now, yet somehow a relatively simple/unexciting combo I've cobbled together on a whim has far and away become my preferred daily driver board. It's not a fancy magnetic/optical board. It's not a sturdy buckling spring board (I love my Model FSSK but it's not a daily-driver board for me). It's just Kailh BOX Ice Cream Pro Max switches in a Keychron V6, with KSA keycaps. What the fuck.

Also: rough but loving consensual babymaking sex with racist foxes.

>>
>>108514566
I have two boxes and one spare motherboard in another case. All three of them the caps still look new on the motherboard. Even though the x5690 pulls 40w more than the board was rated 80w it has done so for years without complaint. It has been a great desktop for a long time and will live on even after I build another machine. Probably be a VM server or a shitpost box. No idea yet.

They really overbuilt them. The case feels like a tank.

This is mine back in the heady days of covid when I put a 1650S in there. Eventually I'd change to the high perf air cooler, add more drives, add more ram, add a big intake fan, and swap GPUs a few times. At the moment there's an RX 590 in there.

What's funny is even though I put a x5690 and still use the stock cooler, it has never gotten hot. At full load the CPU still sits in the 60c range.
How did you supply enough power to the video card with the stock power supply? I swapped mine out with a 700w one and made a custom adapter because HP just couldn't use the stock pinout.

do people like authenticator apps?

i broke my phone and got locked out of my bank, steam, post office and other things.
everysingle one needed an authenticator or some app i didn't have access to anymore.

i had to take out my sim and plug it into another phone to end up using the sms verification stuff, if i didn't have another phone, i'd be screwed.

do people enjoy this? like are jobs made solely for this so they won't go away?
I'm honestly so lost why things need to be so complex now, where just not having a single device causes so many issues

TOTP is vulnerable to phishing, you type the code and the attacker relays it instantly.
Passkeys are tied to domains, so they won't work on fake sites and need zero manual codes.

I may be late to the party on this but my alphoomer nephew just showed me a locked thread of the Scratch Director of Technology losing his cool at 10 year olds and and being moderated by his own moderation team due to his "impolite" remarks while arguing over TOS changes that trains AI on user projects and adds an AI assistant. I guess not all gen alphababies got oneshotted by LLMs. Where's his PR guy to tell him a grown man throwing redditisms like "ad hominem" and "false narrative" at users he acknowledges in the same thread are statistically 80% under the age of 12 comes across incredibly retarded and tactless?

It's a very extreme example of why arguing on the internet in general is pointless. It's like the screencap of the guy who argued about wine with someone then read their profile and saw they drank their own piss. You could've spent that time coding but you waste it letting people who aren't worth it get the better of you.

shopping guide in op lists these as the cheapest general recomendations

Tangzu Wan'er S.G 2 (mild V) - $20
Tanchjim Bunny DSP (mild V~) - $20
EPZ Q1 Pro (Harman) - $35
Simgot SuperMix 4 (Harman) - $150

my budget is 100 so im wondering if there is anything worth buying for more than 35$? how big of a difference is between say epz and simgot? worth 120 bucks?

at what point did hardware manufacturers give up on making really fast HDDs (like picrel) and let SSDs take over? my first desktop from 2009 or so had a 7200rpm drive, and then the Xbox One i got later used a 5400rpm one.

i just find it strange because (to me) things were all over the place. my older sister's laptop from ~2019 still came with a mechanical drive, but it was during the era where they tried to cope with Optane (which afaik didn't work out well for consumers). i'm sorry if this is really incoherent and dumb but just a simple outline would be nice
4 replies omitted. Click here to view.
>>
>>108517375
The only reason HDDs are still around is because of the sheer amount of data they can hold and the fact that the bits you save don't magically go *poof* if you leave it in cold storage for more than a year.

SSDs are already unbeatable for them in terms of speed so they focus on size and reliability.
>>
I just got flashbacks from that dark era where they sold drives that were hard disk with a bit of ssd in it
>>
>>108517375
Around win8, when everything was moving towards laptops and small tech. You could have used og win10 on hdd but it was slow.
>>
>>108517375
SSDs started to take over around 2014 or so but HDD speed never really went over 7200rpm, there were some models that were faster for consumers but most people always went for the 7200rpm.

If you wanted faster speeds then raid was needed.
>>
>>108517375
high speed HDD are considered inferior for consumer use now because they're loud and annoying, and anybody who cares about speed isn't buying a HDD. high speed HDD are still around for businesses who need it.
