Hello
Is China building alternative tech?
>>107652467What kind of cool Chinese tech can you buy? Just curious. I have some of their handhelds and mini PCs. Some controllers too. But what else can you get that's fairly decent and won't fall apart in a month?

>>107644827This shit is old as time. Back in the early 2000s boomers would use Word, select text, and highlight it with a black highlighter, then send the "censored" file as an attachment.Of course these days it's zoomers who do this shit as their tech knowledge is nonexistent. This is why you "need to learn how things work", kids, so you don't end up committing a massive fuckup due to fundamental gaps in knowledge or understanding.
>>107651139The DOJ is apparently already in damage-control mode putting out tweets stating that you can have charges pressed against you for not just spreading the unredacted documents, but even doing the CTRL+C/V just to read them. Trying to dissuade as much people as possible from obtaining eyes on what's hidden under the black bars.If this were an intentional act masquerading as a fuck-up, then it's probably not one orchestrated centrally by the Trump administration, but one of a few very brave colluding individuals wanting to get the word out to the world.

why are so many programming "help" groups like this? like, somebody will specifically opt into helping people, and then get frustrated when they dont do exactly what they expect. it constantly feels like im testing everyone's patience whenever i ask for help and its even harder trying to just learn everything myself, especially considering all the weird semantic differences in both the language itself and guides.like i can imagine a full script in my head but i wouldnt know how to translate it into the language im currently using. and on the offchance that i *do* get the help needed, usually its just "oh just use the blah function", so its not like i just Dont Know How To Code or anything i just dont know the shit thats specific to the engine, and its not like i can just look it up in a glossary or something because the words can be totally different from language to language, like how "object" in one language can be "entity" in another, and object in *that* language refers to an object in an array or something, so theres just a huge language gap that i cant really cross without the help of others, which sucks because working with others sucks

Hello everyone, I have an old desktop PC sitting right there doing nothing. I'm trying to give it a reason to exist and evaluating the idea to install Windows 7 on it.So, can you use Windows 7 in these days? How much do you have to debloat it and uninstall things? And, more important, there's a way to not have it becoming a SECURITY NIGHTMARE?

Posting it again because tranny janny removed it>>107647565Yes, you absolutely can. First things first, start with a working web browser.https://eclipse.cx/projects/r3dfoxcheck out this survival guide as wellhttps://github.com/sunryze-git/guides/blob/main/ultimate_win7_guide.mdand take a look at vxkexhttps://github.com/i486/VxKexconsider using a firewall just to be safe, especially if you pirate a lothttps://github.com/tnodir/fort>b-b-b-but muh hackersthis is not true. Its actually a common lie repeated very often by linux trannies to groom people into transitioning to troonix (you probably shouldn't do that). You will not get hacked as long as you keep your PC behind NAT (which is done by default by your ISP) and you don't download malicious executable like a retard (same as on new windows).>b-b-b-but muh compatibilityAll the good old software made for 7 still works and absolutely mogs troonix. check out 1337x and internet archive for that.

We have to go back. You might not like it, but this was peak performance.>Windows was fast and snappy, before the bloat and spying came in Windows 10 and 11>Metro tiles allowed for a quick fullscreen app selection which is much faster and more customizable and convenient than a small start menu>bottom left mouse brings up fullscreen start menu>same with windows button>bottom right mouse brings up desktopIt was so clean, fast and elegant. I miss it. No Microsoft One drive constantly trying to steal and save your data in a data center, no integrated AI, it was a pure new Windows experience, and we need to go back.
>>107653699that image doesn't even make sense, in w8 you have to move the cursor way futher to even reach the first tile in the menu.
>>1076528418.1 was the fastest version of Windows, no matter how much you/anyone hates it it's just factual, it was a debloated & upgraded version of Windows 7, despite the shitty start menu.
>>10765282432-bit sure is not fast or responsive but eventually it responds until browser tab limit stalls browser
>>107653720the tiles are bigger. they require less precision which allows you to move the cursor faster.
>>107652824what the hell is this? Computer for kids?

Do any comfybros in here use FaceDetailer? Left is the best result I was able to get and it took 41s. Right is a custom node based on a workflow that crops, upscales, samples, downscales, and uncrops with a bbox detector and took 5s. Why is FaceDetailer so horrendously slow? I'm using default settings, I just changed the sampler to euler a and lowered the cfg.
>>107652419just badly implemented i guessright one looks better to me, left is a bit too fried
>>107652419share right workflow pretty please
>>107652531Here's the workflow: https://files.catbox.moe/gbvms2.pngIt has some annoying limitations, like not being able to iterate over detected SEGS and failing when nothing is detected. The latter can be fixed with logic nodes like ImpactConditionalBranch, but it's a pain.I have it as a node here with those problems fixed as FastDetailer: https://github.com/mudknight/comfyui-mudknight-utils
