is A.I. video editing really a thing? I don't care if it's not truly A.I., I mean processes that are at least partially automated

this is one of the things it's impossible to find an answer online

you google it and all you can find are r_ddit threads where broke bitter video editors who aren't getting clients shaming OP for even wondering, or anti-aifags seething telling you to learn to edit yourself

also they always assume you can't just download the AI-edited video and make a few adjustments later

as for youtube, it's all sponsored videos and the lowest of the low slop spam

literally it seems like it's impossible to find an unbiased opinion that doesn't involve people making money to shill a service

no one is truly discussing even the concept and all i see is seething

Hmm, they must all be seething because they're getting replaced. Definitely not annoyed at the countless retards that insist AI can do something despite that clearly not being the case

>is A.I. video editing really a thing?
Depends on the level of editing you need, its good for short reels and shit but nothing much beyond that currently. Maybe in a year or two capabilities increase

If you use a good OS it will drop the RAM usage on everything when you open a process that requires actual ram usage eg a video game (even something as shit as w11 knows how to do this)
Don't buy RAM if you don't want to see it in use homie, we are in 2025, software is not THAT shit, it just knows how to utilize shit now

WTF are they doing? Why do they hate C and C++???
13 replies and 2 images omitted. Click here to view.

>>107655665

No. None of these businessfags understand that at all. This has been the major paradigm shift of tech in the past 15 years. Businessfags and mbas took over from original founders/engineers and shifted from quality first to quantity first. They see code as a quantitative product, a commodity, like anything else. Something to be produced in bulk, with more being better.
>>
>>107655158
is not that they hate c and c++, it is that you can't find young people who can work in c and c++ codebases without generating bugs that can lead to the death of thousands of people.

it takes decades upon decades for these companies to truly fail, even if they make nothing but retarded decisions. they have so much money in government and enterprise contracts that are very slow moving processes.

ibm went all indian as early as like 2005 and they are still a very large company, though largely irrelevant now.

even better is these are companies often started with explicit government funds. oracle and google were literally started by the cia, both are now indian companies. it takes a lot of money and manpower to generate companies like these. even if you had the best possible product to outperform microsoft in some area, they will just buy you out for insane payout.

situation is truly broken. not a "le late stage capitalism" guy but our government is corrupt in allowing these things to happen
>>
>>107655743

I've been thinking about IBM a lot lately. I remember back when I started in software they were the original "fully jeeted" tech giant, Indian Business Machines. And then became permanently irrelevant even though they're still a huge dinosaur clunking around staying involved in things. It does feel like Microsoft is going the same way.

Indians are truly like squatters. Just good enough to do the bare minimum and secure jobs, especially when they offer to do it for 25% of the pay. But simply no excellence or ambition anywhere, the company immediately freezes in time. Sucks cause I'm a .NET/C# developer and I'll be on this stack until I retire, it was one of the few bright spots of MS over the past decade. I'm sure it's going to get fucked now.

I forced AI to break circular definitions in physics and act as a Game Designer for reality.
It ended up writing a "Universe Engine" technical doc and actual code.

We tested a 128x128x128 slice. Newtonian gravity emerged automatically from base constants.
It's not perfect, but it works.

I don't have the compute power to run a larger simulation.
Need someone with hardware to compile and test this properly.

It's a Python prototype using Pygame, obviously it casts to float for rendering and intermediate math.
The model is discrete (grid-based). The space is integer coordinates.

Stop nitpicking syntax and look at the behavior.
If you want pure bitwise integer physics, rewrite it in C or Rust.
I'm waiting for your Pull Request. Do it.

Why doesn't MS get enough credit for DirectX?

Every GPU innovation ever only exist because Microsoft kickstarted it through DirectX. Remember when GPU went from the separated Vertex and Pixel shaders paradigm to the unified shaders paradigm around 2006 ? That was because Microsoft rewrote their graphical API stack for WIndows Vista and the Xbox 360. NVidia and ATI only created GPUs that would work with the new API.

>DirectX 8 wasn't an explosive update, but it completely altered the way modern rendering works. Every single device we use right now, from phones to consoles to computers, they wouldn't work the way they do without employing DX8's fundamental principle of control
>DirectX 9 was first released in 2002, games are still made for it and in some cases only for DX9
>Xbox 360 went significantly beyond Direct3D 9 / DX9 / Shader Model
>DirectX12 brought us a ton of new stuff, such as low level access to hardware, better CPU parallelization, ray-tracing, async computing, mesh shaders, autohdr
>DX11 and DX12/Vulkan are designed to solve very different problems
>DX12 unifies Windows PC and Xbox Console development with one API, making it easier for game devs
>Your GPU is built for DirectX

If you want spaciousness for music just add some light reverb, from your room made with a measurement mic, not in-ear mic, with the IR EQd to be reasonably flat to decouple reverb from tonality. Speakers without reverb sound in your head too so HRTF is not the important part, HRTF only matters when playing native surround content.
