“Most admired” isn’t what you seem to think it is
I like a lot of stuff written in Rust but I think its fan club has more crazies than all other programming languages, possibly combined

Rust is "admired" in the same way a 10yo who had his junk cut off is considered "brave".

Learn lisp.
>>
>>107609984
I feel like the best introduction (for me) was Norman Wildberger's video series on Linear Algebra, but probably because it did highlight some of the practical aspects of linear algebra, as applied to solving linear equations for the purposes of understanding computer graphics, but doing a bunch of exercises on eigenvectors and eigenvalues was really what helped hammer down those concepts for me, even though I'd already had some prior motivation for it.
>>107610040
There are a lot of ways of learning Lisp, some which don't even involve reading books.

Do racist, anti trans, alt right and MAGA actually contribute to FOSS in a valuable way, or do they just shitpost about how much they despise the deemed outgroups (trans, Indians, blacks)?

>>
>>107607524
Like 10 years ago, I did some prs on gnome. But they were such a bunch snob faggots, that they rejected and demanded the everything must be to their annoying snob faggot specifications. So I stopped. But some of my prs were accepted on KDE, keepassxc and qbittorrent. Also I maintain 3 packages on the AUR.
But ultimately it's not worth contributing. You don't get paid, and you have submit to the whims the maintainers. And if you not a part of the main clique. you are treated like shit.
Specially on big projects. They LARP as a S&P500 company, why acting like a group of highschool girls behind the scenes. Everything is so gay and retarded.

I wouldn't call myself a conservative. I share certain opinions that both them and liberals have. I do however despise trannies, kikes, zoomers and people associated with them. They do not want me to own, feel and enjoy, therefore they are my enemies, and they also happen to endorse FOSS, thats why I left it behind. I used to be a FOSS enthusiast, and at one point, I have even become a contributor to a few open source projects. Regardless, over time I started realising that people who are in charge of FOSS simply hate me and can handle contrasting opinions worse than 6th graders. Unlike Windows, linux as an operating system makes it very hard to actually use it without their interference, therefore I just came back to using old windows versions. As for competent chud contributors, you have people like Vaxry, however because they are ostracized from the rest of the community, they usually have little to no influence on FOSS as a whole, especially that trannies constantly attack everyone who refuses to boycott hyprland and associated projects.
>>
>>107607524
most chuds fall into three categories
>psychopathic rich upper class chad, lived life on easy mode, isnt happy despite being handsome, fit, rich, succesful with women, constantly wants to bully others and dominate people and never feels happy, high iq and high fitness, low eq
>brutechud, goes to gym and becomes gymcel, likely to act as a wigger, very fit and physically strong but a complete retard that works a dead end job or lucks out being a influencer or fucking milfs from rich betabuxxers while giving them yoga lessons, low eq, low iq, high fit
>incelchud, low eq, low iq, low fit. dropout, loser, deadend job or neet, contributes nothing to the world except shitposts and blackpills, is most likely to in a few years become a tranny/groomer and be a proud lgbt leftist folx
all three have no reason to be in foss or contribute, third one is very likely to be in foss and contribute but only after egg/mind cracking

Which laptop should I buy if I want to use it for programming and gaming while running Linux?

Probably want something that's a bit more capable than the traditional ThinkPad meme at least (but not writing off modern ThinkPads), but also not a bulky Windows gaming PC that weights a ton and an heros itself with fan usage after running MapleStory or some shite

So last time I've checked /g/ was around 2008. Now watched some youtube vids on this topic and seems like Fedora is one of the best? WTF how did it came to this? Noone talked about Fedora back then.

>Noone talked about Fedora back then.
that can't be true, it was one of the first distros i tried, fedora core 5, which i picked up in 2006. i bought it from a shop for iirrc $7. sounds funny now but two dvd's worth of software saved me many hours of dowloading to try out various software
>>
dnf improved massively. It's nowhere near as slow and shit as it used to be. KDE is now an official edition which doesn't krash anywhere near as much as it used to and GNOME (Fedora workstation default) is still GNOME but it's much less shit than it was when GNOME 3 first released. Fedora stays very up to date despite not being rolling release. It pushed hard for Wayland and the transition (haha). The growing pains are over and now things like Mint are pretty much just there for retards because Fedora is easy to use. KDE has GUI for fucking everything even enabling repos and third party codecs and Fedora is one of the best distros for using it.
>>
>>107610404
*the transition is complete
>>
>>107610404
The biggest annoyance with Fedora is that most non-repo distributed software is still .deb instead of .rpm
>>
>>107610404
discovery is kinda buggy and kde is still a DE with many problems, specially if you want to use it on any stable distro, but on fedora it is alright. i agree with mint being redundant for new users now, even tho fedora has its problems

The game is over, as I am fond of saying.

The women won. They are in control of the eugenics program and the multi-trillion-dollar pussy reward system — a highly symbolic fertility ritual. But they are in control of much more than the reproductive apparatus. They control not only the men and government of the United States of America but through the power of pussy and the susceptibility of men and government officials, fiat currency manipulation by the Witches of Fiat Currency at the Federal Reserve System, a large army of simps and "backers" (this is a technically incorrect use of the term) who are fighting to maintain control of the Frankenstein monster they created called Onlyfans (in a war I fear we are going to lose), and even the Republican form of government they created which inevitably—and I would argue by design—fosters centralized female matrilineal control and assures only a handful of "pre-selected" men must be sacralized to control an entire country, they control the entire world.

tried it to get a linux kernel module to install it didn't work. Copilot, Grok, gpt and gemini weren't better. Solution was that the distro downloads src and obj dir you just had to copy a couple files from the obj dir over to src dir and then it works without problems. Thats not written down anywhere however so it never understood it. So far I have found only google's search to be somewhat helpful because it doesn't spam you with words.

What would it take to manufacture CRTs on a commercial scale again in 2026 and the years to come?
Would it be more viable to buy existing IP/patent rights from the companies that used to be the leaders back in the day, or to re-develop the technology from scratch using modern means?

>CRTs are for retro gamers and... competetives shooters?
Even for competitive, these days even esports in their own setups prefer very high refresh rate panels instead of CRTs. Slight blurriness isn't worth losing latency over.
But for retro games, definitely.
>>
>>107610613
I'd rather have a "dogshit" 17" shadowmask for DOS games then a super crisp 22" aperture grille
>>
>>107608900
You are clearly some zoomer that never used a CRT because they don't actually flicker, they only do that on camera as the camera's refresh rate is out of sync with the screen, it doesnt happen to your eyes, so just like the average zoomzoom brown you dont even know what you're talking about yet you open your mouth.

What is it with browns that you always open your mouth, very confidently too, about things that you dont even know? Like why do you do it, I never got that as its very strange behaviour from my perspective as a human. Regular humans don't try to speak authoritavely about things they dont know about because that doesnt make any sense, why would anyone do that. But browns do it, constantly, its very very strange.

Everything has poor contrast under light, but yeah CRT is maybe not very useful as an outdoor display not what you'd want to use it for

Flicker isn't a thing at all that only happens on camera so apparently you havent actually ever even seen one in person but act like you know based on watching youtube videos

Coil whine is indeed a thing but its very faint and after you turn 20-25 years old it disappears

Giant, heavy
Okay those are actually valid arguments but its not like you need to be moving it all the time. How often do have you moved your television in last year? If its more than once you're doing something wrong
So this one, not really an issue either

The only problem is that they can be unsightly in a living room if you're one of those feng shui faggots that everything needs to be in harmony or whatever
But even that could be alleviated by building a nice cabinet for it, or sometimes even building walls to have a recess for the television

China knows the way. they make cheap tech that solves every days' problems. The west has lost the mandate of heaven and china has been granted the mandate of heaven. The west will no longer make anything worth purchasing as it is all trash. China will grow larger.
