Python, one of the very few modern & popular programming languages not owned by big tech, is now begging hard for money at python.org (picrel), Wikipedia style.

This comes after the PSF rejected an US government grant because the PSF can't stop shilling for DEI: https://developers.slashdot.org/story/25/10/28/211237/python-foundation-rejects-government-grant-over-dei-restrictions
The same PSF then reported a surge of new donators following the above rejection: https://developers.slashdot.org/story/25/11/09/2017240/python-foundation-donations-surge-after-rejecting-grant---but-sponsorships-still-needed
Yet, they are now begging for money, using a big, intrusive and cringe banner at python.org, kek.

This is what your donated money is used for: https://www.python.org/psf/grants
>Conferences (e.g. PyCon Italia)
>Event site subscriptions (Meetup.com) (e.g. London Django Meetup)
>Django Girls Workshops (e.g. Django Girls Busan Workshop)
>PyLadies Workshops (e.g. All Day PyLadies Workshop)

These faggots have a whole page dedicated to their DEI philosophy: https://www.python.org/community/diversity
Their Libera Chat #python IRC channel is filled to the brim with trannies (they/them and she/her pronouns set as their IRC name).

What I see is that people make a simple VM like the WebAssembly guys and it's portable and great and you can bootstrap your thing with it but eventually the language wants GC support or tail call support or whatever to simplify code generation or to not have to pop/push so much data you're slower than Python. At which point you generate native code to get exactly what you want. So the noob traps just delay the inevitable.

I made a stack based very constrained bytecode spec for a project.
No branches, no jumps, no loops, just opcodes corresponding to boolean functions
I even went so far as to enforce that you have to consume the stack you create in it.
It's working very well, having it be so featureless is actually turning out to be a good thing.

You need to become the ruler of all linux packages to put some sense into those trannies
If everyone thought like that, like a sensible fucking adult, Linux could be a viable operating system
Torvalds always says "we do not break user space" in the kernel and thats why projects based on Linux have been able to stay viable the troons havent been able to Rustify it into oblivion
But the problem is that nobody else got the fucking memo thats why we got these retarded workarounds to library dependencies like docker which just cop(i)es everything basically make an entire new Linux installation to run a single application which is just unfathomably retarded
glibc is the only library which quite quickly somewhere in the early 00s got the memo and actually started properly versioning their shit but even still its not made immediately clear that what will be the requirement of glibc version be when you compile with what you have and theres no option gates to "only use feature set of version x.xx" either afaik

And yeah also absolutely if you are going to fucking change the entire UI of the program at very least change the major version number and leave the old around as an option or better yet change the name to something else if the change its so major its basicaly entirely different app

There is no other profession than programming where some tranny breaks into your house steals your hammers and screwdrivers because they're "deprecated" and replaces them with purple dildos

Design applications around a kind of server/client model, where heads can be swapped on the main body easily, like many applications used to do (OpenERP anyone?), is the way to go.

High res smartphone sensors are designed to bin down to at least 12MP which is supposed to bypass the individual pixels being tiny as fuck. Phone camera samples, at least ones from relatively large sensors, don't look too bad once you shoot in RAW and process yourself.
>>
>>107613104
eh, i've taken better photos on my oneplus 3t (2016, 16MP) than my galaxy s21 ultra ("108MP" which is binned to 12MP), mainly because the s21u doesn't allow for long exposure times. if you just use the ootb camera software with ootb post-processing, the s21u may look better, but if you actually try to manually plan out shots and take raws, it's debatable at best. i'm convinced most of the development in phone cameras are just down to how well they perform post-processing, not that the cameras are actually getting better

>At your exponentially increasing costs over time? Yeah. So jealous...
>Cheaper to not go that route initally. Especially as these things tend to take decade or so to RoI.
The anon you're responding to probably lives in one of the costal areas where they do petroleum refining in the US. The cost of natural gas in a lot of the US is mostly the distribution costs. I'm in the great lakes area and where I am the inflation adjusted price for natural gas has actually gone down a little over the last 25-30 years. Even if it went up by a factor of 5 or 6 times it'd still be the cheapest option. ROI on a quality gas water heater is something like 2-3 years vs the shittiest electric you can buy where I live.

The only reason I don't have a gas stove anymore is because a good induction stove can boil water in a fraction of the time, but it sounds like that anon is taking water that's already damn near boiling and using that.
>>107598966
It does sound like a bit of an insane setup, but if he built things a decade ago before good induction stoves were commonly available outside of commercial kitchen equipment, it was probably the best way to do it

Plus, I'm not sure cost is a real concern to them either because they're talking about heating their sidewalks so they don't have to shovel snow.
>>107599647

>Which really isn't the greater percentage of local buildings
Maybe in the UK, but here in the states subpanels are quite common. Even my moderate (by American standards) house has 2 subpanels. 3 if you count the 2 breaker panel by the pool, and of course there's also a main panel. Given the way that anon is talking they probably have a very large house. I've seen mid sized mansions with nearly a dozen large electrical panels. One of the first things that serious luxury builders do is they start running dedicated breakers to every other electrical outlet, and it's often to every single one in a large kitchen. Call it insane if you want, but it's how luxury homes are.

>muh global warming
Alright well we should start stop letting people migrate to White nations to consume so much don't you think? And definitely do something about the explosive growth of the population in the global south enabled by White nations feeding and medicating them which is retarded, the populations used to be stable when Whites didnt intervene
Africa used to have 0.33x the pop of Europe as recently as 1950, they have 2x the pop now, and 10x the pop in 2100
All because Whites go there and import food for them and medicate them so all the 11 kids they pop out survive which isnt natural for them
And of course now its spilling over into Europe too just visit the cities in Southern France and you can see it firsthand
>>
>>107613099
>Call it insane if you want
Actually due to how weak 120V power is and how quickly the amps get high with any load, you pretty much need to run dedicated circuit to each outlet otherwise the breakers start quickly tripping
If you have 120V with 20A wiring/fuse thats just 2400W which can be a single appliance but the same with 240V thats 4800W and no regular plug in appliances consume that much power except some power tools
So with 240V you can get away with less circuits often entire bedroom is just one circuit because realistically you wont draw 5kw of power in one ever
And kitchen you can make do with like 3 circuits you put microwave and fridge/freezer in one, dishwasher and a strip of outlets for appliances in one and some lamps and outlets in third. of course stove/oven goes into its own threephase circuit
Circuits tripping with 240V is never really a problem in fact it usually gives so much leeway that average people dont really understand power limits and amperages at all they can string along like 5 extension cords from a single outlet and plug in a million things but it doesnt matter because it just werks
>>
>>107613099
>petroleum refining in the US
you probably mean extracting, right?
from my understanding natural gas comes out of the extraction process as a "waste" product like the oil is mixed in with bunch of natural gas and in many of those sandniggerlands they just burn it off because no infrastructure to actually use it, although nowadays places like qatar have turned into manor LNG exporter so maybe wasting it is becoming a thing of the past but for most of history of oil refining in non-western countries thats what the flame you see in the pumps its the natural gas being burned off

If only we could implement IQ testing to vote. I say a Zscore of 1 should be a good minimum cutoff. Pass/fail should be silent, as in the voter takes the test which is on the back of the ballot in a proctored environment and then the ballot is just accepted. The machine tabulates the test mean and standard deviation, and once ballot acceptance is cut off all vote values of voters under the cutoff are thrown out of the pool. Another possibility could be weighting the vote based on IQ cohort. I could imagine a system which scored a ballot's weight as:

1*Ballot*EXP( Zscore*ScaleFactor )

where ScaleFactor is how much +1 or -1 standard deviations should give/take away from the weight the ballot has on the total vote (think of it as being mechanically similar to an interest rate in a loan). This way ballots can be taken of the most intelligent of the whole nation, or each district has its own intelligentsia represented, and not have to deal with certifying IQ. The intelligence of the mind casting the vote onto the sheet in person determines the ballot's weight.

This is not a drill, it's finally confirmed that China has a working EUV prototype since early 2025, it's just undergoing testing and verification right now, expected to enter large scale production by 2028-2030.

>In a high-security Shenzhen laboratory, Chinese scientists have built what Washington has spent years trying to prevent: a prototype of a machine capable of producing the cutting-edge semiconductor chips that power artificial intelligence, smartphones and weapons central to Western military dominance, Reuters has learned. Completed in early 2025 and now undergoing testing, the prototype fills nearly an entire factory floor.

>The availability of parts from older ASML machines on secondary markets has allowed China to build a domestic prototype, with the government setting a goal of producing working chips on the prototype by 2028, according to the two people. But those close to the project say a more realistic target is 2030, which is still years earlier than the decade that analysts believed it would take China to match the West on chips.

>The breakthrough marks the culmination of a six-year government initiative to achieve semiconductor self-sufficiency, one of President Xi Jinping's highest priorities. While China's semiconductor goals have been public, the Shenzhen EUV project has been conducted in secret, according to the people.
