Yes and they want the cheapest they can get which, sadly, is 16:9. All the tooling has been optimised for that so it'd take a major disruption to get the market out of its local optimum.

I tried to embed QuickJS to use javascript as scripting language for my game. Building it was trivial, but the documentation was extremely lacking. I could navigate my way around the code, but it didn't really make between the public API and the internal one so I wasted too much time before realizing some function was just not meant to be used by the user. I got everything set up and running at the end, but then I realized javascript is just too bloated for my use case lol. I went back to lua. The syntax is crappy but I can always just transpile it.

I use lua for my rpg engine and I never had problems except with one thing when I have a luadrawable and accept a callback which I call from C code to render a tilemap, this one causes CPU usage to rise from 0.5 to 1.5%

Should elon musk buy reddit? He bought twitter for $44 billion, and reddit is only worth $37 billion. In 3 years, his net worth has increased by 200 billion. Reddit is one of the biggest site on the web, and certainly profitable.

How can he convince the reddit owners to sell their site?

Couldn't he have just taken the $1b loss? I remember that being available obviously a lot to lose regardless, but it's not like he paid the whole $44b in the first place. He took a lot of investments from billionaires including Arabs
>>
he should. most the "main" or general subreddits are subverted and controlled by a small group of mods that manipulate narratives and prevent genuine conversation. the smaller subreddits are generally fine. the rest of reddit is largely spammed by shill/karma bots pushing political narratives. It's obnoxious when you aren't logged into an account and see what the general populace would see.

i imagine the reaction would be similar to what happened to the protest over the reddit API stuff - those opposed would close their subreddits and make it impossible to find information. That would probably go on for a month. As before, it would be incredibly aggravating, as the centralization of information and the enshittification of internet search results with AI slop has made information harder to find. Links would go to reddit posts that are locked behind closed forums.

This would either force the denizens of reddit to find places elsewhere - possibly decentralizing the internet further (lessening the centralized hold of information and political shilling that comes with it). Or, it would lead to a more balanced reddit which is actually usable - especially if he finds a way to counter the shillbots or corrupt moderation. People might try to make a new reddit - similar to what happened with Twitter and BlueSky. It probably wouldn't take hold, and the result would just be a lukewarm boycott that never amounts to people leaving the platform.

The removal of the corrupt, biased moderators and decentralization of the internet would be better than what reddit is now. The fact that all the smaller forums on the internet were killed off and have now ended up on reddit has led to a large issue with information retention and archiving. However, it would just get further shilled by all sides - but that could unlock a revenue stream for him.

Mark Bussler from Classic Game Room is a creator that I really enjoy from way back in the day. He's expressed a lot of discontent with the current state of things, and he said in a podcast, his words, not mine: "The only way left to make money anymore is to make physical, tangible goods and selling them online".

So yes, sell something online with a site, but the software itself is a solved problem and has been for aeons upon aeons upon aeons. You can use Wix, or Shopify, or stand something up yourself (but why though?); actually focus on the product to sell, and it has to be something tangible and physical and that people actually want to buy.

But making money off of the software only is just a flat out no. It's a way too oversaturated market, even more with the AI being around.

I cannot believe I spent hours earlier today trying to find sauce, just to find out she was the most common of whores. That sounds misleading. We all know she's a generic e-whore. Her face is very familiar, but I did not think it was *that* blondie. Yet it's her. Difficult to find sauce because it's a crop from the last few frames of a TikTok and I take pride in the fact that after all these years I still only spent a total of maybe 5 minutes on that shit site.

On the topic: While trying to reverse search the reaction image, I also turned to grok for assistance. It kept hallucinating people and URLs. Every single link I clicked 404'd - they were most likely hallucinated and made up. God, and that fucker sounded so confident of himself on the first reply. And from there, the AI was caught in a perpetual loop of "okay I'm sorry, this time for real..!". Each consecutive attempt worse than the last. So much about that. Bubbles? Ain't much of a finance person, idk how that would ever affect me.
