will wearable monitors be a thing starting with the steam frame?

It will definitely be nice to have a usable lower power PC as the headset instead of needing to use it as a peripheral for a PC like the Quest 3.
>>107734654
Unless you really want to go 2K or 4K, the PPD is probably going to be good enough for virtual monitors unless you make them really tiny.
>>107735246
No, that's just propaganda from the HDMI forum trying to keep their stranglehold on the market as the large flat panel TV (and thus their core income source for HDMI sloppa) goes obsolete due to space and electricity concerns, as well as a shift to more individualized media consumption. The resolution is good enough to replace most common monitors that aren't enthusiast high resolution displays.
>>
>>107734616
not a chance. taking into account VR distortions the Steam Frame will be like having two 1080p monitors very close to your eyes. text looks like ass and if you arent a VR veteran you'll get tired and uncomfy with wearing it within an hour.

Pixmax have a better model than that, the pixmax crystal super. the resolution is 7680 x 3840.

Fixed focal basically makes this useless for any text reading/writing usage.
You will have to put the screen in the absolute sweet spot to have the sharpest text, and any movement will make it blurry, or you need to make it fuckhuge.
I keep spamming it, but varifocal is a mandatory major tech unlock.

Really? People selling snake oil hate a project that refuses to leave users at risk of exploitation by holding off on pushing security updates? I'm shocked!

Everyone "roasting" us in the comments is parroting the same things. Which consist of;
>repeating Linus's old email about everyone involved in the project being a "masturbating monkey"
>crying that we've somehow broken the Rust language (which we don't use anywhere in base system) which itself has been proven to be snake oil multiple times
>"These mitigations are stupid and useless" followed by "actually these mitigations were implemented elsewhere first" without any proof of course
>quotes from random "rockstars" on twitter that are famous for claiming to exploit gaming consoles and phones. Which they never publish of course because they always report them privately to vendors first instead of dumping them like everyone did in the 90s

Half those quotes are just the author stroking his own cock because someone else re-tweeted his original tweet.

Are you seriously trying to argue that Red Hat, Microsoft, Apple and grsecurity are people that should be trusted or respected? These are the same people that laughed when we disabled hyperthreading for good reason. They're the same people willfully cooperating with the likes of the NSA when it comes to selling consumers CPUs with known back doors in them. All for "national security" purposes of course.

I don't care what some spook cock sucker presented at a spook con. He's a liar.

>People selling snake oil
they supposedly lead the linux (and other OSes) security front by implementing ASLR and couple other mitigations first. Im not saying PaX/Grsecurity doesnt sell snake oil but they sure do understand about exploits and mitigations
>refuses to leave users at risk
good faith isnt enough to develop a sound project
>Everyone "roasting" us in the comments
I didnt even read the comments, it might just be one thing that openbsd is in the right
>Are you seriously trying to argue that Red Hat, Microsoft, Apple and grsecurity are people that should be trusted or respected
I didnt say I trust them
>Since the kernels you're attempting to run them on can't do half of the stuff the OpenBSD kernel can
eh?
>You're shipping sudo and systemd then trying to lecture other people about security? Really?
I almost never used those two in my systems and I do not even use barebones linux on my pc. you should stop treating security like it's about which team is the best.
btw im not even meaning I wont ever use openbsd again because I have inconclusive opinion on it. maybe it's the only non-honeypot OS despite lacking in technicalities and essentially being a multimillion LoC ordinary OS kernel with huge attack surface / so many things that can go wrong. give me formally verified EAL7 kernel with per app virtualization.

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.

why would you need to learn about RAID to program with c++
>The issue with Cpp is that you need to read Bjarne book which is 1200 pages
god forbid!
>then you need to read a 900 pages of Cpp98
what are you talking about
>then read a modern book of Cpp 2013, then a pragmatic book of Cpp 2017, and then a best practice modern programming book
you're vaguely referring to effective modern c++ which is a small book.

>>107711740
It is the language of straight white men. It is easy to fuck thing up in C++ if you are less intelligent so it must be erradicated and replaced with a LGBQBBWQWTFBANFHJLHDGAUGLGJGAJLFHKLSFAMCNNOIROUIR friendly language like Rust which has no problems every and everything it makes is error free and memory safe!
>>
>>107711740
> why is C++ hated
It is one of the worst fucking programming languages I can think of. It's so fucking god awful, looking at almost any of it makes me want to gouge my eyes out, and that's not even when trying to fucking program in it

These two things alone make the syntax of the language itself imo completely invalid as anything to be taken seriously as a language: the preprocessor, particularly #ifdef #endif conditional compilation shit (note: these don't have to come right after a newline but C++ programmers are retarded and do it anyway); and namespace referencing using `::`, which makes things so fucking verbose and hard to parse that I genuinely just want to kill whenever I see it
>>
>>107711744
The best part about coding in C++ is knowing that jeets don't know how to. And it's important to code in C++ so that you can remind saars that they aren't allowed to have anything good in life. They're allowed to have Java and designated shitting streets. And that's, you know, pretty much it.
>Hey, that's a pretty good C++ function - not that a jeet would know.
