I just tried every one and only cosmic works. The others show a full black screen with lines of code for a few seconds and then just go back to the login screen. I even tested them both with dynamic mode and discrete GPU only mode set in the bios. should I just go back to windows lol

My work PC has 16GB RAM and somehow has a page file of 16GB. Meanwhile, my home PC has 32GB RAM and only a 2GB page file. It's automatic in both cases, and my work PC doesn't really have any full RAM or any serious amount of background processes from what I can tell. So what's going on?

this is normal for a default windows install. the page file size is by default automatically managed and will grow if more pagefile space is needed. so at some point your work pc needed more page space and grew the pagefile. your home pc has not (yet) needed to page RAM to disk so the pagefile is at the default size.

also possible that your corporate system is customized to have the bigger pagefile.

Tried upscaling some old hazy Anything V3 era gens, grainy DVDrip stills, hazy art style, but I guess they require proper upsampling, not this. Must have been my mistake after all, clean pics are restored nicely.

I do admit that I was overreacting am probably still am since I don't know if I should try to get the FHD 48gib ram, no SSD P53 with a bit of minor damage--I would make an offer and its buy it now price is $350 so maybe $325? But that is still annoying because I could have gotten that $20 off...

Is that sarcasm or sincerity? I am just upset since I don't buy stuff often so buying someone so expensive is worrying and stressful. 3D never takes off because it's a fundamentally shit idea that only existed as a gimmick from day one. It does nothing to enhance movie watching experience, on the contrary it only hurts it.
It makes movies feel like ass and any movies specifically tailored for 3D, use shots that are blatantly there just to appeal to the 3D factor.

VR is an entirely different subject, even when very limited it's still immersive. It will absolutely get more adoption once the hardware is good enough and when the prices come down considerably.
There was no chance in hell for VR to take off when it was basically in alpha and that was the biggest issue.
You buy the goggles that are bulky as fuck for couple of grand.
Then you realize the tracking is shit and you need to buy additional lighthouses which are extra grand at least.
Then you realize you want a full body tracking and need to buy the trackers and it's another grand. Oh hey you want eye tracking? That's even more money spent.
Soon you'll have spent like 5k on the damn thing and you can't even wear it for that long, because you're going to be sweating like crazy and it's uncomfortable.
Oh yeah and you need America tier home space for the fucker to begin with, meaning you can't even use it in most European homes unless it's in the fucking living room.
So far it's been a niche at best due to a lot of limitations.
