Decades ago Asrock released this. This is the AM2CPU board that you could put on certain Asrock Socket 754 and Socket 939 motherboards that included the Asrock Future CPU port. You could then upgrade those motherboards into AM2 motherboards with this add in card that has the new AM2 cpu socket and new ddr2 slots.Imagine if we had an AM4 motherboard like this. And then once AM5 came out you would just put in your AM5 add in card and now your AM4 motherboard supports AM5.

There were lots of interesting upgrade paths in the past. Pic related is one Microsoft made for the Apple MacIntosh.>The MacEnhancer came out in 1985 and was a small beige box that connected to the Apple Macintosh 128K's modem or printer ports, expanding the computer's connectivity with an IBM PC-compatible parallel and serial ports. This, as contemporary magazines reported at the time, allowed Macintosh owners to create graphics and then send the images to be printed on IBM PC-compatible printers. Why was this necessary? Apple essentially only had one printer out at the time, the LaserWriter, while PC users had a ton to choose from.>MacEnhancer owners could also connect to modems and other serial or parallel port accessories designed for the IBM PC, opening up a whole world of peripherals that would otherwise have been closed off to Mac owners. In fact, you could say that the MacEnhancer was a very early predecessor to all the MacBook docking stations available on the market now. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Why are ""people"" (gamers) still so anti-VA? Modern VA panels have absurdly fast response times on par with IPS (faster actually except for black to black). On the plus side you get the blackest blacks, whitest whites and no backglow messing up everything. I understand OLED is superior to both and TN is the competitive choice but it's weird seeing how many people still tell each other to steer clear of VA when your average $200 VA panel is almost certainly better than a $200 IPS one.
>>107656700everything smearing every time you move, the gamers preferencegamers used to buy TN but they got downgraded to VA for the poorfag category and got doghsit instead, only paying a bit more gets you an IPSit's like you get downgraded all the timethis used to be common knowledge until brainrot kicked in howevernow you got zoomies and browns buying VAcrazy>>107656695use your panel correctly
>>107656955VA is faster
>>107655967what's weird is how much you care
>>107656254agreed, and what's crazy is it's become really affordable with chink companies selling their own monitors instead of letting western brands use their panels for double the priceI got a 250€ mini led 27 inch 1440p monitor off amazon that completely moggs every western brand va model at that price rang Crossing my fingers for cheng ram and gpu's

I have always downloaded music, movies and tv-series and saved them on HDD's.But i also ripped my CD collection back in the early 2000'sMusic is strictly kept in .mp3. If possible i go for 320kbps.Regarding music files, i haven't downloaded for the last 20years or so. I currently have like 120 GB of music.Mostly stuff i listened to in the nineties and eighties.TV series are strictly kept in .mkv format and i go for 1080p. If not available, i chose 720p or SD quality if it's a real classic worth keeping.I am currently on about 160 TB of tv-series. So it's a well sorted collection.I never had any streaming subs in my life. The only thing i have (but lost the login credentials to) is a lifetime premium account for Spotify, since i partook in their beta programme, but never used it after the beta phase were closed and Spotify hit the market.

>Microsoft plans to eliminate every line of C and C++ from the company by 2030.>Microsoft plans to translate the largest C and C++ systems to Rust. The rise of Rust and the downward trend of code quality are directly correlated. As populations become less intelligent, they rely more on the crutches built by previous generations. Using Rust is basically admitting that you are incapable of writing memory safe code without a crutch.
