Lintards were no less annoying then. They'd tell you that "all the games I need are on linux" and it would always be FreeCiv or SuperTuxKart.
>>
>>108516608
yeah it really does. Forever linux people have said that the only reason people don't use linux is because it's not preinstalled. the only tenable solution to that is an easy-to-use installer. ubuntu has had this for 15 fucking years or longer but somehow arch didn't get the hint and hacked together archinstall which is straight up broken most of the time

arch with an installer would easily be the most popular disto, given the success of Antergos, EndeavourOS, Manjaro, Garuda, and now cachyOS...
>>
>>108518739
99% of the new releases on steam were either rated as functional or verified on protondb. I don’t even know why you’d say something to blatantly untrue.

>just get things done

Okay first off why are you trying to act like you aren’t the same poster? Second off that’s utter bullshit, windows 11 is barely functional slop that breaks constantly. Microsoft has released 6 security patches in the last year alone that bricked windows 11 systems, they replaced system apps with webapp rewrites that perform worse and and they fill the OS with unwanted AI garbage. Even if you removed the jeetnigger AIDs from windows 11 the OS is just a worse windows 10 with more resource usage and more ads. The fucking sheer volume of ads in every part of the windows UI is downright insulting. There is NO excuse for ads being in the start menu, there is NO excuse for fake email style ads in my outlook, there is NO excuse for ads in the fucking settings menu. If you defend this garbage at all you are either retarded or you get a paycheck from Microsoft.

>Okay first off why are you trying to act like you aren’t the same poster?
I'm not him.
>Second off that’s utter bullshit, windows 11 is barely functional slop that breaks constantly.
I've used it for 3 years now, not one single breakage on update.
>Microsoft has released 6 security patches in the last year alone that bricked windows 11 systems, they replaced system apps with webapp rewrites that perform worse and and they fill the OS with unwanted AI garbage. What are these fucking ads you retards always go on about? Is it just ads for 365? I have a subscription so I suppose they don't need to sell me harder. I'm also running Pro, does that turn them off? I've seen some claim it's recommended applications, but that's just a simple toggle that you can turn off. As for webUI, they are annoying in that they use way too much ram, but they're not even slow to open, which I suppose is how this got out the door in the first place.

None of the common complaints about Windows 11 actually get in my way of doing of what I need. I'm not going to suffer some shoddy hobbyware just because someone spams "jeetnigger" at me.

Let me rephrase it for you:
1. OP fell for one of the infinite gotchas of ASM programming, which is why you should really just stick to C unless you know what you are doing. C has fewer footguns.
2. OP could just call execve() and look! 1 syscall versus 1 syscall! Wangblows BTFO!

>Our goal was to construct a fully-fledged general-purpose OS supporting a wide range of applications using multiple OS personalities on (potentially) very large multiprocessors. In the end, K42 was POSIX compliant and Linux ABI compatible, but the quest to make fork perform for the Linux personality caused fork semantics to subvert the OS design to the detriment of other personalities.

This year's Debian Project Leadership election has only ONE candidate and it's a Pajeeta (Sruthi Chandran):
>She is inactive on the mailing lists, and her Salsa profile is private so we can't even see what her coding contributions are.
>She's run for DPL 4 times before; lost each time
>Her entire platform is just about diversity and bitching about cis males
>She intends to formally incorporate Debian in the US, which would force Debian to introduce age verification
Her only claim to fame is organizing DebConf23, an event where a Debian developer literally fucking DIED because basic health & safety measures were not followed.

A much more qualified candidate was hospitalized during the nomination window and couldn't apply in time, yet she has refused to reopen nominations.

Debian is FUCKED unless the Debian developers all vote NOTA (None of the above).

banks and gouv, phones today are the best way to get data on your population, giving privacy away is a loss for them
>>
>>108518279
imagine linux on x86 but with orders of magnitude smaller community due to ARM and the whole hardware ecosystem being more closed (so similar situation as nvidia drivers).
Another problem is that many killer apps on phones inherently have strong network effects and thus are impossible to replicate as FOSS programs (most instant messengers, banking) so users won't switch and these companies won't support linux without the users being there.
touchscreen program on linux are grim in general, but this might actually improve in the next few years with affordable tablet laptops
power managemant is also a much bigger issue on phones, and you will never can kill programs as aggressively on linux as on android as the assumptions are much different

If you are willing to buy a supported phone, check youtube for reviews. It will work, especially for things like simple telephony, but the experience will be noticeably worse than android
>>
>>108517730
lol. try it. i don't think it even does calling or sms well.
>>
>>108517730
depends on what device and what shell you're using
both phosh and plasma mobile are okay on oneplus 6, it is quite fast, you can use calls, sms, mobile internet, etc
the downside is that battery will not last a long time, and things like camera support are present but can require some workarounds as they're still WIP

Have you ever gone outside? The majority of human beings barely qualify as sentient. They have a hard time figuring out the semantics of a propositional implication and struggle with already dumbed down undergraduate level math as adults, if they can even manage high school level content at all. The average code monkey is no exception. Optimizing readability, or anything else for that matter, while including this lowest common denominator is a great way to hold back progress.
