What's a good NAS if all I care about is data storage and streaming saved movies/shows to my TV or Laptop through Plex or Jellyfin (at home)? I was just gonna splurge on a Synology DS925+, but after doing some research I found that this particular model apparently sucks for transcoding. Bear in mind that I'm semi tech-illiterate, so I'd prefer something that just werks even if it costs me slightly more than the DIY alternatives.

I transformed my old gaming rig to a jellyfin NAS. And it was pointed out to me that the 4070S sitting in there is overkill and underutilized.
I was reading how to set up local models and figured docker is the best solution. The issue is jellyfin is on bare metal.
Should it be moved to docker? Or would being in bare metal be better because it has priority to the GPU?

Bought a ironwolf nas before they sold out, gonna get as much kino as possible. Fuck everyone.

I have always downloaded music, movies and tv-series and saved them on HDD's.
But i also ripped my CD collection back in the early 2000's
Music is strictly kept in .mp3. If possible i go for 320kbps.
Regarding music files, i haven't downloaded for the last 20years or so. I currently have like 120 GB of music.
Mostly stuff i listened to in the nineties and eighties.

TV series are strictly kept in .mkv format and i go for 1080p. If not available, i chose 720p or SD quality if it's a real classic worth keeping.
I am currently on about 160 TB of tv-series. So it's a well sorted collection.

I never had any streaming subs in my life. The only thing i have (but lost the login credentials to) is a lifetime premium account for Spotify, since i partook in their beta programme, but never used it after the beta phase were closed and Spotify hit the market.

I wish the doujin music sharing scene were through bittorrent or at least slsk.

Out of the box frequency response is much better than anything Hifiman, distortion is pretty low as well. There's a resonance near 4k but even at that point distortion is kept below 0.5% so not audible. It's indeed very impressive, you probably wouldn't even have to do much EQ if any. Build quality is certainly not up to par to anything Audeze, DCA or even FiiO's other planars like FT1 Pro, there's a lot more plastic here than in those models. Still probably better built than HE400SE, that thing uses the lowest quality materials known to man. Too fast to judge if there's any design flaws that could lead to them failing long term but I sure as shit would trust FiiO more than chinkfiman.
