This, only time I ever encountered an SELinux issue was TF2 AAC playback library failing because it required heap execution permission which is sketchy as fuck in and of itself but overlooking that, the solution was readily available online
>>
>>107830291
If you do it while the OS is running then the backup will probably be invalid anyway, so no change there.
If you do it from a live environment or disk attached to another computer then SELinux won't be active anyway, so no change there either.

>>107830029
That's one of the reasons I prefer AppArmor. Most users will never notice it's there, and those who do are more likely to look up how to adjust it rather than disable entirely.

READ THE (temp)WIKI! & help by contributing:

/hsg/ is about learning and expanding your horizons. Know all about NAS? Learn virtualization. Spun up some VMs? Learn about networking by standing up a OPNsense/PFsense box and configuring some VLANs. There's always more to learn and chances to grow. Think you’re god-tier already? Setup OpenStack and report back.

>What software should I run?
Install Gentoo. Or whatever flavor of *nix is best for the job or most comfy for you. Jellyfin/Emby/Plex to replace Netflix, Nextcloud to replace Googlel, Ampache/Navidrome to replace Spotify, the list goes on. Look at the awesome self-hosted list and ask.

>Why should I have a home server?
De-botnet your life. Learn something new. Serving applications to yourself, your family, and your frens feels good. Put your tech skills to good use for yourself and those close to you. Store their data with proper availability redundancy and backups and serve it back to them with a /comfy/ easy to use interface.

In that case, I'm sorry to break it to you, but your anecdotal experience in your country does not reflect the reality of the situation in either Anon's country or my country. As it stands, CGNAT is a fairly common stopgap, while IPv6 is still rare to the point where you won't get it unless you explicitly look for it.

Is it possible to learn to draw and do it well if you're an autistic retarded software engineer and honestly not THAT interesting in the process of drawing (but hoping to somehow develop the interest)?
>>
>>107833216
>interesting
*interested
>>
>>107833216
Anyone can learn how to draw. Its a subject they teach in childrens school bro. You have like a year to practice amongst the teacher and students.
>>
>>107833216
It is possible to learn most skills by taking an interest in them, or by being autistic enough about it.
I don't know why you would bother if you're not interested, but I guess that's how autists work.

Doing it "well" or "well enough" iis subjective.

That's the source code too. No higher level abstraction of the code exists in hands of humans or in nature. If I write a program in machine code in a hex editor and publish it, that's the source code for it.

Even 576i on a CRT looked sharper and more vivid than 1080p YouTube today
You have to watch 4k video on a 1080p display now for it to look any good

Yes, CRTs have no native res so they're sharper.
>You have to watch 4k video on a 1080p display now

Nobody watches 720p content now because everything that was filmed in 720p is old as fuck. My guess is that even if the original was filmed in 720p and uploaded in quality 720p the lack of attention has probably led to youtube at some point throwing it through a heavier compression to save space. Not to mention that compression back in the day was shit and the smaller the resolution the less the compression algorithm has to work with. Go though 15 years of sitting on a shelf collecting dust just for you to pull it out of the youtube museum and take a look at it. A 4k 60hrz video is going to be easier to compress into quality 720p than a 720p video is going to be with heavy compression to save space.
>>
>what is actual resolution

I remember the first time I downloaded a 1080p youtube video back when that druggie Avenged sevenfold drummer died of overdose. I felt like it looked better than real life. Now 1080p video looks so pixelated it's insane.

Buy some spare PCBs, or get a case that’s compatible with common and widely used PCBs. They can fail just like any Model F or Model M, but this way you’ll have an effectively unlimited supply in the future and not ending up with a paperweight because there’s no replacement PCB available for you

Genuine question: use case?

>space
Unless you live in a capsule hotel having this vs a small laptop or even a small desktop PC like a dell optiplex SFF is pointless. Might as well go for a dell optiplex SFF.
>price
Nigger, these things cost like what 200$ new and as low as 30$ used ok. I can get 10x better performance from any old stock ebay dell office desktop PC for 30$. For 200$ I can get an amazing hp Z440 with 128GB of DDR4 (currently what I have)
>energy
Unless energy is like 5$/kwh we're talking about maybe 10$ per year electricity savings, and you're sacrificing performance.

Honestly at this point why not just by a USB-C dongle and use your android phone as a desktop computer ?

Let's get a BSD thread going. Are you using BSD on any of your machines and why did you choose it over linux? I installed FreeBSD on my thinkpad last night and it seems to work well, but what can I do with this that I cannot do on linux? So far the only interesting feature I've found is ZFS. Don't get me wrong, it feels almost like linux and the pkg-package manager is nice and fast. I guess I might as well keep using this as my OS on my laptop, but I fail to see any benefits when compared to linux. Maybe if you like jails more than VM's and containers, then that's one interesting feature for sure because AFAIK jails can be way more secure than containers. Oh and the IceWM package seems to be nicely themed for FreeBSD, so points for that too, overall packages feel more precisely tailored than on most linux distros.

also the huion kamvas 13 gen 3 (with stand) is okay. i calibrated the cursor and pressure with it's drivers (latest) and managed to draw fine on my old version of Clip Studio Paint (i did not calibrate on the software itself). im most likely going to try and get a custom stand (pic related). i will post future updates like if the dial dies lol
