>>107722529What's worse is they grew up in a time when TV had regulations that attempted to ensure quality and truthfulness in broadcasts, so boomers grew up blindly trusting anything said on TV. They never got the memo that you can spout bullshit on youtube and nobody gives a shit. Boomers unironically believe in these fake AI generated stories narrated by the same AI nigger and they're none the wiser.
>>107717251>>107725228>>107725244yet more proof of the dead internet theory right here
Why do people do this? Are they really just trolling youtube/google? Literally no one wants to watch this.
The other day I went on archive.org looking for a soundtrack and found a guy who uploads massive videos of spectrograms of his music collection. I can't think of a reason why anybody would need a video of an audio spectrogram when they could just make one with their own audio files, let alone why anybody would be interested in some random guy's spectrograms. And yet there he is uploading terabytes of that shit for free.

How do I make modern technology bearable and user friendly again?
>>107732466You couldn't even install XP on a SATA HDD without side loading drivers from an FDD or slip streaming it in the ISO. SP3 supports most SATA controllers out of the box, but that was not the case when back when the switch from PATA to SATA happened.
>>107729797Damn, are you me? I remember trying for days to get that fucking joystick to work on 98. Ended up going with some cheaper one with two buttons. XP was a breath of fresh air compared to it.

>>107729979No, you are implying there is some kind of bubble when the US wants this technology to advance. A bubble implies an uncontrolled economic situation.
>>107729998Its the only reason I can see for the insane pricing and the circular money that's going from nvidia to amd/Intel etc . The RAM chip shit as well I think we might be seeing actual economic war going on vs china.

Why did Microsoft get so much hate in the 90s?
Because they captured and consumed every facet of an emerging technology.Tech would be much better today if monopolies were hated today as they were 30 years ago

It's been 10 years and I still have not bothered to learn Photoshop or Kdenlive for that matter. An old tree you cannot replant, they say.
>>107730808'Learning software' is really cringe
There are anons that are unironically still using Windows XP 25 years later, they even backported Chromium instead of just learning to use Gnome or KDE.
A few months ago I could have a very good RAW editor and a decent video editor for free but I gave up on those because they would not work on linux. You see, I'm trying to learn how to use darktable. It hasn't been fun.
>>107732746how can they survive with just two or three gigs of RAM on the 2026 internet? That's 0.1% of /g/ just crazies. The number goes way up if you factor in people funking around in virtual box But thats not a daily driver
>Debian/Ubuntu: apt >Fedora/RHEL: dnf >Arch: pacman. >openSUSE: zypper>Snap >Flatpak>AppImage>Python >Nix/Guix ???>dpkg/rpm>compiling from sourceWhy can't linux come up with similar system as Apple Disk Image, something that just works without you learning entire new system on every distro? Is it bad to be user friendly and more centralized?
>why can these multiple operating systems I listed not use the same system as this other operating system I selected arbitrarily? You're right, that's why Apple computers should use dpkg. After all, having 1 unified system would be ideal instead of having to learn a million.>also implying you can't compile from source or install python pip packages on Mac OS
