Ads that show up in phone apps just dont show up anymore, its actually made grindr somewhat usable due to zero ads.
But whatever you pick, you have to also make it the primary DNS server on the network, and possible even block any outgoing connections for DNS (i dont do this) just to drill what you want into devices that like to stray away from your control.

That being said i set it as the primary DNS in my firewall/router and I havent had to block DNS requests going outbound on WAN, most normal devices like cell phones or laptops when guests bring them dont mind using what my network advertises as the primary DNS and ive been told by people who dont use adblocker extensions that they just dont get most ads when they visit. I've done some testing on browsers with no adblockers on websites specifically for adblock testing and it wont block some super weird JS ads but, i think it does a good job for something thats passive and doesnt require extensions for every device on the network

does anyone have sata hdds in a netapp ds4246? is it well behaved or a pain in the ass? i replaced my sas drives with sata drives i got at a good price in my shelf and its been a near nonstop headache what with flooding the console with one single mpt3sas error about 20 times every couple minutes, disks sometimes randomly losing power and/or the entire shelf resetting at boot time necessitating rebooting so the pools will actually import and some other random shit.
the thing is, ive had the shelf for over a year and have had literally 0 issues, the hba is the exact same with 0 issues, and i had the sata drives (which are all 100% healthy) in a regular pc case connected to the same hba with 0 issues, it was only the instant i put the sata drives into the shelf that this bullshit started happening. not using interposers btw, i thought about getting some to try but apparently they are only for allowing multipathing (cant do in truenas) and can cause more issues like with smart and also randomly and silently go bad.

the kika keyboard it comes with being shit is an indictment of the lack of polish it's not really a usability issue because you can just use any keyboard you want off the play store. plus said argentinian did an extremely good job on the pastiera keyboard, including touchpad gestures. its just not on the play store yet and probably wont be for a while

i've been using blackberry androids since 2017. the keyboard software had crazy insane polish because blackberry. the titan 2 is a better replacement than i ever hoped for but you just need to have realistic expectations. it doesn't have the polish but it's a modern phone, that's worth more than the polish. the key2 can't download a lot of apps on the play store anymore.

they literally just announced a render of the titan 2 pro, with no specs or even a confirmation of basic features like the watch face. it's going to be like six months until the kickstarter happens and the phone is probably going to ship early next year. it just looks like they're chasing the cosmo communicator going viral. It was a very nice design concept but it was not executed all that well. The screen half of the device was phenomenal (i love the curved screen with the battery indicator. kino) but the body half was definitely half baked. the keyboard was super tiny and the buttons didnt have any travel - it was kind of a bad introduction to keyboards on phones. it was hamstrung by the absolute worst smartphone SOC of all time, the snapdragon 808. ridiculously underpowered for a 1440p screen, ridiculously hot, ridiculously slow. They die eventually because the cpu delaminates or something (my nexus 5x did the same thing!)

it was absolutely fucking decrepit by 2021 and i was glad to get rid of it even though i loved the physical interface. It lagged just browsing the internet and you were lucky to get 30 fps anywhere. the key2 never got slow like the priv did. mine still works fine. it's just using an old enough version of android that's starting to get annoying.
