Most KWin/Plasma crashes and graphical artifacts on Debian are also coming from old ass shit kernel+graphic drivers stack. It's very rare to see some plasma/kwin crash that is originating inside KDE code and that persists across minor releases.

Devs by own admission dont know how to use pgp anymore. They also go against the grain of the Tor Project and include ublock origin in TBB when that is stupidly fucking retarded

It isn't compromised in the sense its ran by feds, its compromised in the sense its ran by morons who unironically have no background or experience or respect for what tails is supposed to be or who the target audiance is fof a real, secure, system, they even go out of their way to make fun of the so called "privacy enthusiast", while trying at the same time trying to cite that the main usage of Tor is by domestic violence victims, like some 20 year old woman is going to boot up tails to avoid the network stalking on her boyfriend's wifi network. Just asininely insane stupid motherfuckers. The document on their wiki is called personas. It's stupid. The privacy enthusiast autist is the one who has no life but yet has the time to devot to making the product good, don't alienate him/her, and further, dont alienate anyone from Tor.

I second the suggestion to use whonix, also of note is QubesOS, as well as Knoppix, perhaps also you might find a virtual machine to fit your threat model.

I might start a fork of tails, but nobody wants to trust the new guy. But honestly this might have just pissed me off enough. I'll start rebase at the last point PGP keys were on the site, cherry pick up to master, remove ublock origin, match TBB to stock tor browser exactly by default, with heavy encouragment to set javascript.enabled to false, maybe add toggle to disable WASM, maybe add option to disable SVG, harden the network stack, ship a hardened genkernel. Does /g/ like this idea?

Basically, that.
Never lose sight of the fact it started as a US Navy SigInt project to provision plausible deniability. Giving someone else that sort of weapon isn't the sort of thing navies tend to like doing.
Companies like Akamai Technologies operate a large percentage of the high speed nodes, giving them a unique insight complimented by a global sniffer network attached to backbones everywhere but north korea, and now china.
Those telecoms backdoors being used for/by 'SaltTyphoon'? They're intended for Akamai.

Does anyone know of a way of transcoding mp4 to an APNG without writing the cICP chunk to it?
It's the default behavior of ffmpeg <6.0, but everything afterwards seems to always write this chunk, and that confuses some websites.

Conversely, if there's no built-in way of skipping and/or removing it using ffmpeg, are there any third-party tools that can remove it from the end file?
exiftool can't overwrite CICodePoints because that's a read-only tag it seems.

AI suggests manually setting
>-color_primaries
>-color_trc
>-colorspace
>-color_range
to "unknown", to the equivalent of sRGB and to all the other things, but while ffmpeg doesn't error out when those flags are provided, they never have any effect on the resulting file.

Make sure to use something like Windows 7 Updated v5 to have built in NVMe and USB3 drivers.

yes but it's safe to just schedule it and forget about it unless you have some specific need to defrag

Everytime I gotta set | like clockwork. It's very annoying. I can understand if it picks comma, at least I can say that it's consistent, but it isn't. It gives the impression that it can detect which delimiter I use but refused to check for pipe because it's too sane to work with text.

>The development comes a little over a year after the tech giant [Google] disclosed that its transition to Rust led to a decline in memory safety vulnerabilities from 223 in 2019 to less than 50 in 2024.

>The company pointed out that Rust code requires fewer revisions, necessitating about 20% fewer revisions than their C++ counterparts, and has contributed to a decreased rollback rate, thereby improving overall development throughput.

>We adopted Rust for its security and are seeing a 1000x reduction in memory safety vulnerability density compared to Android's C and C++ code. But the biggest surprise was Rust's impact on software delivery," Google's Jeff Vander Stoep said. "With Rust changes having a 4x lower rollback rate and spending 25% less time in code review, the safer path is now also the faster one

>With roughly 5 million lines of Rust in the Android platform and one potential memory safety vulnerability found (and fixed pre-release), our estimated vulnerability density for Rust is 0.2 vuln per 1 million lines (MLOC).

>Our historical data for C and C++ shows a density of closer to 1,000 memory safety vulnerabilities per MLOC. Our Rust code is currently tracking at a density orders of magnitude lower: a more than 1000x reduction.

Is what you are suggesting scalable?
If not well that's not what the corps want.
>>
>>107691560
> can't read
Google primarily uses Rust on new projects. The studies explicitly state that they don't typically convert projects from one language to another as the payoff isn't as great because many of the bugs have already been found.
>>
>>107691754
> Is what you are suggesting scalable?
It's just a #pragma line in front of functions for each pointer they get via arguments.
This is all you need to make Rust obsolete.

I interpret this to mean that Golang is a complete failure. Yet another retarded language solving a problem that didn't exist bites the dust.

Can i request some help please?
I would like to elevate my keyboard

I’ve been looking for a very specific keyboard and struggling to find it or even a place to custom add the features i want. I want to completely remove the need for a mouse.
I just want one device that can do everything i need, primarily playing the Sims and basic office related computer tasks.
It’s like i want a mash up of the following:
> https://sealshield.com/product/s108pg/

I have the Lenovo, and love it, but the trackpoint is only good for excel related things and is not enough for Sims and certainly doesn’t negate a mouse all together..
Thanks to anyone with some advice!

That C++ is very naive though. The C++ could also be generic over the key and remain just as fast where the Java cannot.

Reminder of the following:

1. Google will merge ChromeOS and Android to form a FOSS Linux-based desktop OS that will be 100% free to download and use.

https://www.androidauthority.com/aluminium-os-android-for-pcs-3619092/

2. Windows will be severely affected by this new, totally free competitor and will bleed marketshare.

3. All existing Linux desktop environments will be totally outclassed by Google's top secret desktop UI and underlying OS. Even Linux users will give up on shit like Mint and just use Google's desktop for their daily driver OS.

2026 will finally be the year of the Linux desktop, and it will be because Google will do to desktops what they did to phones.

You know it's coming. Don't act like this was a surprise.

How easy is that to use? My parents use youtube a lot on the TV. While I already have a mini PC set up connected to the TV they still refuse to use it. I guess they don't like using mouse and keyboard.
I have a Samsung TV so that means I would need to get an Amazon Firestick to use it. I don't mind setting it up but if it's too complicated for a 60 year old boomer to use then I might not even bother.
