Oh, and the motherboard had no AGP or PCIe slot, so you were absolutely fucked in terms of being able to put a decent graphics card in there.Zoomers are so fucking delusional about their childhood Windows XP shitboxes. Linux Mint's user base is all boomers who want an old version of Windows and would be better off actually using an old version of Windows but they bought into "muh security" or another vague belief about why Linux is better even though they have no interest in actually learning the Linux way of doing things and just want everything to work as it did in Windows XP. At least with Ubuntu you learn the Linux way of doing things and the OS is grounded in the Linux philosophy even though it holds your hands through a lot of things. Half of Mint's user base, on the other hands, would be terrified of doing as little as the most basic of stuff in the terminal. Mint has no purpose of existence rather than cater to people who would probably be better off using Windows XP because that's what they actually want.

>>107660519anon... did you try reading the article?>agreement will not alleviate consumer shortage, supply earmarked for server clients>Sources say the NCNR's price is expected to exceed $20 per 16GB DDR4 module, but Samsung is still evaluating the market and may increase it further. Still, this is only a third of prevailing spot market prices for short-term contracts. Unfortunately, the client said to be gunning for the NCNR contract mainly focuses on server applications, and no consumer-facing company has signaled its intent to secure a long-term contract for DDR4 chips. This means that end-users should not expect any relief from the ongoing memory shortage.it says right there in the article that this is for SERVERS.
>>107660683>the client said to be gunning for the NCNR contract>said to beyes anon, i did read the article. 'said to be' means the same as 'rumoured'.but anon, valve's core business, would you believe...concentrates on servers. or do you think it's bunch of guys with desktops making games, and not a global tech infrastructure company.
>>107660788>concentrates on servers. or do you think it's bunch of guys with desktops making games, and not a global tech infrastructure company.sure, but that's not what you said in the OP:>what's the bet this is where steam deck is getting its memory fromeither that or my ESL ass completely misunderstood what you said. but I clearly see "STEAM DECK" there, and nothing related to servers.
>>107660847fucking hell. here's how reality works.1. steam deck is a product to be made by valve2. the client is said to concetrate on servers3. as a company, valve, because of steam, concentrates on servers. their core business is server-based infrastructure.can you work out the next step for yourself or do i have to hold your fucking hand some more.
>>107660932ok, maybe. the article doesn't actually say anything about server memory or some cloud company or whatever.valve does concentrate on making gaymes, though (or used to, I guess kek). running game servers is not difficult at all AFAIK.

I'm officially washing my hands of the Wikimedia Foundation (aka Wokemedia Foundation) and Wikipedia. I've already been banned for years for doing protest vandalism but I won't even try to edit anymore as its not worth the effort as admins are always lurking recent changes to revert shit. Wikipedia has been taken over by mentally ill admins and a clique of "extended confirmed" users who anonymously label prominent figures as Nazis with paraphrased "reliable sources" (with a shitlist of sources they don't like) and push constant woke "facts" in the did you know section of the main page. They even broke the online safety act (and their own terms of use) a few days ago by showing a flashing image on the main page.I looked at the financial reports and Wikimedia has scammed people out of almost $1 billion dollars over 25 years, when they only need a million a year to host mostly static pages from cache and minimal javascript like search suggestions.Wikipedia needs to be investigated and admins forced to explain themselves. People are literally getting hurt because of Wikipedia. Jimmy Wales is the ultimate loser of the internet.

>>107658119> Jewwy WalesEvery. Single. Time.
>>107658119>admins are always lurking recent changes to revert shitThey have software to revert shit. It just takes a click. Vandalism is a waste of time.
I remember years ago I set up an account to fix a spelling error in an article, it got reverted immediately and I got banned for something of the like "fixing minor errors is wasting admin's time to verify it", then some hours later an admin made the same change but my account never got unbanned. Fuck Wikipedia and all its tranny admins.

>>107659515Literally every engineering exec is joining Nvidia. This is basically an acquisition where Nvidia gets everything it wants then leaves the parts that it doesn't want, and it's cheaper because regular employees don't get the full acquisition windfall. Same shit Meta pulled when they "invested but didn't acquire" Scale AI, and Scale AI's execs all moved to Meta.
What's wrong with that? Nvidia has to protect their bottom line you know! They're not a charity!!!If you want cheap inference, access an API endpoint. What's the matter? You're not doing anything illegal, right? You're not a terrorist right? Why are you so against safety!!!!!
