/hsg/ is about learning and expanding your horizons. Know all about NAS? Learn virtualization. Spun up some VMs? Learn about networking by standing up a OPNsense/PFsense box and configuring some VLANs. There's always more to learn and chances to grow. Think you’re god-tier already? Setup OpenStack and report back.

>What software should I run?
Install Gentoo. Or whatever flavor of *nix is best for the job or most comfy for you. Jellyfin/Emby/Plex to replace Netflix, Nextcloud to replace Googlel, Ampache/Navidrome to replace Spotify, the list goes on. Look at the awesome self-hosted list and ask.

>Why should I have a home server?
De-botnet your life. Learn something new. Serving applications to yourself, your family, and your frens feels good. Put your tech skills to good use for yourself and those close to you. Store their data with proper availability redundancy and backups and serve it back to them with a /comfy/ easy to use interface.

HDDs, especially high capacity ones, have become pretty expensive. Just bought a bunch of 22TB drives, exact model that I bought ~one year ago from the same vendor is now almost 100€ more expensive per drive and they weren't cheap a year ago either.

I'm the guy who gave specifics. Idk how to do it without another node somewhere.
I don't use CF tunnels either because I don't want their binaries on my machine.

If you find a way, let me know!

Oh well, guess I will allocate some more of my fun budget to my server.
I still need to figure out how to configure it all though. Any flavor of Linux gender dysphoria can run avtdl, but I'm not sure how to include a proper NAS into it as well.

this is like saying you're schizophrenic for not wanting to use flatpaks, they're bloated as fuck and you have no need for them unless the program isn't available for your distro.
99% of people could switch to a different, more simpler, init system and not be able to tell the difference. Red hat shouldn't have as much influence over linux as they do with systemd and wayland.
And this thread is retarded anyway because people have written a lot about init systems through the years and you can just read what they have to say.
Personally I think arch in general is shit but I'd rather use artix since the people behind it seem more reasonable and the community seems to be less obnoxious too.

A friend of mine said: "fastman, fastgirl, fastmaid, fatgirl, fatmaid is a three michelinstar*** concept". I don't have an opinion about it myself and it's not something I would say myself, but this is what my friend said. I'm also not really sure about what he meant by it but it's what he said. I'm just explaining what my friend said, it's not something I have said or would say myself just to be clear. I hope this is clear, but just to clarify more: This is not something I would say; it's something that my friend said and I'm just repeating what my friend said. I hope everyone understand this and don't think that I would ever say or have said or will say this because it's not true. I'm just explaining what my friend said and I'm not even fully clear about what he meant with it. I would never say something like this myself; I'm just explaining what my friend said just to be clear. I also love everyone in the world just to be clear. I would never say something like this myself just to be clear. I hope this is clear. I love everyone in the entire world just to be clear. I just like to explain what my friend said, but I don't always agree with what my friend says just to be clear. I love everyone and I hope that we can get along. I hope this is clear. I don't have an opinion about it myself just to be clear. I hope this is clear. I love everyone.

>Technology platforms are to be compelled by law to proactively find and stop content promoting self-harm to adults as well as children, in a bid to boost online safety.

>The change to strengthen the Online Safety Act will make clear to social media companies that it is not optional as to whether to take quick action on protecting users from “toxic material”, the new Technology Secretary Liz Kendall said.

>She said such content is so harmful that it can be “the difference between life and death”.

>The change – legally requiring tech firms to prevent such content from appearing in the first place, rather than simply reacting to it – is expected to come into effect this autumn and will mean that encouraging or assisting serious self-harm will be treated as a priority offence.

>The Molly Rose Foundation – set up by bereaved father Ian Russell after his 14-year-old daughter Molly took her own life, having viewed harmful content on social media – welcomed the strengthening of the Act.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/ofcom-liz-kendall-samaritans-government-b2822293.html

The OSA is getting worse. So much worse. Now all Brits will be blocked from viewing "self-harm/suicide" content even if they are verified as 18+.

If they apply these laws liberally, then we could end up with a bizarre scenario where people in the UK can no longer listen to a song that romanticises suicide (so a significant portion of rock/alternative music), or watch a film/play a video game that features a suicide/self-harm scene.

It's simple. The conservatives pushed it through because it's popular and they wanted to be reelected, Labour enforced it because it's popular and they want to be reelected. It's a stupid retarded law but it's popular with tech illiterate boomers and parents who would rather stop everyone from having fun than learn how to set up a firewall through their ISP.

It's very democratic to let people vote for their own laws. It's just what happens if you import in millions of people with radically different cultures and views on the world into a system that actually allows people to vote on what they want.

Sometimes. There is ABI still exists in Pytorch, like torch.cuda._C. But even plain torch.cuda to torch.xpu conversion might look like an easy port on paper, but in practice there could be wrong output, out of memory errors, performance drops, etc.
It's still very raw, but Intel had polishing AI software stack goal in q3-q4 on their road map iirc.

American High School is an example of a "scenario" card. There's a lorebook that goes with it to fill out the rest, but I don't think it's actually required to run it.
