>If I can access those functions from the home row, then having a dedicated key to perform that action is completely pointless.
Why do you have a bloated 60% board instead of going full chord, then?
>>
home, end, and delete are vim for based people. i never use page up and page down. insert is only useful when you accidentally click it and go into weird mode, so you have to click it again to go back to normal mode.

Yeah, insert is useless, the keyboard doesn't have it on the side. Just the most useful ones. I use Home, End, PgUp and PgDown a lot.

webgpu and wgpu / dawn seems like goyslop. opengl for life.
also runs on mac, windows and linux. the most multiplatform graphics api there is.

use Dynamic Mode and reimplement OpenGL in your own rendering backend so that you can get work done.
>>
>>106871116
>also runs on mac
not anymore. Apple's legacy implementation is extremely buggy and only getting worse.
But you can compile against ANGLE and get a reasonable metal implementation of OpenGL.
>>
>>106871744
>OpenGL
I started with Vulkan and have never written a single line of OpenGL, so I wouldn't really know what that looks like.

>>106870696
In my case I was using Vulkan so it was literally just >>106869023. Didn't handle compression though because I don't think I'll need it, but it shouldn't be too bad just import Zstd etc and do that.

>try macOS
Weird scaling since Big Sur, Settings menu has bipolar disorder, all the good widgets cost actual physical money
>try Windows
eleven different design languages in one, and they're not even trying to pretend that Windows Shell can work on anything slower than a quantum supercomputer (see NVIDIA documentation on Windows increasingly requiring more GPU resources just to idle), and the animations aren't even good enough to justify it
>try Xfce/LXQt/LXDE/Budgie/Cinnamon/Deepin/etc.
Dogshit Xorg DE is dogshit, anything without Wayland on a Unix-like system is a meme
>try GNOME
Inherently un-ergonomic design, GTK weirdness, it looks really good though - have to give them that
>Le window manager with a Waybar shell!!
They made five for Niri and not a single one allows you to adjust drawing tablet sensitivity without having to edit a .txt config (WMs don't come with text editors preinstalled and you have to manually set file extension associations)

I've tried them all, I've even tried ReactOS, yet I keep coming back to KDE Plasma, it is ergonomic, it is lightweight as fuck, it is so customizable I gave up on it halfway through because I couldn't decide how I wanted my desktop to look, it has proper fractional Wayland scaling support, it is the most mature with HDR thus far through Kwin, you can turn it into a tiling window manager with one script, how did the Germans do this? Is this the best desktop GUI in the history of desktop GUIs?

What? This isn't true.
If Wayland "isn't ready" explain why every distro and desktop environment worth using has already switched to it.

use an IDE. learn your IDE. watch update videos about your IDE to learn about new features and improvements

so often people do things manually (and many times with mistakes) that could've been done in three seconds with one or two keystrokes or a menu click, or switch between three different programs to do two things when they could've done it all from their IDE

I have an idea for cryptocurrency ledger. Instead of blockchain, we make two chains of transactions.
One is for mining blocks using Proof of work. Emission is infinite since there is coin destruction(see below).
The other is for sending coins. In order to prevent spam user must destroy some coins, and writing to chain is encouraged by fees to the first one who wrote it.
Questions: Can two chains be reconciled to show correct balance? Also, is fee necessary? Since there is destruction they can't keep sending the same coins back and forth. And miners still need second chain on the internet to transfer their coins.
