crazy to think most people run 6 bit + frc panels these days and don't have true 8 bit or 10 bit color

>they all have 12bit by default?
Nope. Depends entirely on the display generation and DAC. It can vary. I'm sure some ass ones have less than 8-bit. You'd have to measure it on your display to really know. with a colorimeter.
>>
>>107571102
CRTs are analog and their bit depth only depends on the DAC on the other side of the VGA cable
>>
>>107571112
Yes but it depends entirely on that.

Almost all cards were 8-bit, with some professional GPUs having 10-bit DACs.

>/g/ makes a 19th album
Theme: [Accepting suggestions]

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.

You can draw your own osc waveforms, DRAW THEM, then morph between two of them. Same for the MSEG envelope

We might be used to having lots of envelopes, and switching between them, but MORPHING between two very easily is another level

Batshit insane politics shouldn't get in the way of open source meritocracy. That's as far as "apolitical" means in these contacts.
Of course this is anathema to the parasitic shitcode grifter.
The fact that these cretins have made "meritocracy" into a pejorative in their own circles tells you everything you need to know about their motivation.

I've never used a SSHD, but are you sure that's how they worked?
I always assumed the OS sees it as a single standard HDD, and the SSD part just existed on the firmware level, being used as a fuckhuge cache.

Both existed at a point
WD had a proper HDD+SSD that where separate but required special drivers iirc
Most "Hybrid" HDDs did just use something like an 8gb/16gb cache.

How did they work? I wasn't dumb enough to buy one of these and try them out.
Was the SSD and HDD part exposed to the host as a single drive? Because I know for sure that you'd need SAS to have multiple devices over a single cable and good luck finding a consumer motherboard with a SAS controller.

>so lets say I have the pipe and the amperage exceeds the amount the physical material can handle, does the pipe burst (cable melt)? then what about if voltage is exceeded or is that not possible?
voltage being like pressure in a water pipe still holds as an analogue here, because too high a voltage for a given wire will result in a breach of its' insulation. i.e. it will arc out to something outside of the wire, kind of like a burst pipe.
higher voltages require more insulation (water pipe thickness)
>>
>>107572534
>>107569405
as for amps, that's the speed of the water through the pipe, and watts is the volume of water flowing through for a given period of time. they aren't the same as the resistance (diameter) of the wire (pipe) can vary. a large (low resistance) pipe can deliver more power (watts/water) than a smaller pipe at a given flow rate
>>
>>107572356
For TVs without full support for 60hz this is to be expected. The vertical size is calibrated for 50hz. The scan moves across the screen at a fixed rate, at 60hz it has less time, so it can't cover the full size of the screen. TVs that fully support both 50 and 60hz detect the frame rate and adjust the vertical size to compensate.

This is evidence that we live in an altered timeline.
Originally Japan was occupied by American and Soviet forces following WW2, and as a result two different AC standards. But because of meddling by time travelers, Japan was only occupied by the US and this is the only thing that didn't change when the timeline fractured.

voltage is how hard its pushing shit out
amperage is how much shit is being pushed out

wattage is how big the water splash from the toilet is

Why would you even want to discuss politics with an AI?
Politics discussions are useless even amongst humans.
Blues are Jews and red are also Jews.
What are you gonna do about it?
Nothing.
There.
Politics solved.

You either figured that out by yourself or no amount of discussion is gonna convince you otherwise.

Discussing politics is pointless.

It used to be at least somewhat tech literate but nowadays it's mostly people posting de-motivational shit about AI that has no basis in reality nor is it trying to engage in good discussion about machine learning with the occasional post about how Linux sucks for good measure. Where do you actually go in current year for good tech discussion that isn't just MBA-investment slop and bad bait?
