Why do people buy shit like android boxes, Apple TV and pic related instead of just connecting an old phone to the TV with a HDMI cable?

>>

Browsers like forcing them because they have smaller filesizes and that means their browser will load quicker and "feel better" for people that don't notice the difference in image quality or image sharing problems.

YouTube is filled with shit like this, and it bothers me that no one knows about it because the algorithm is programmed to promote dumb whores. This guy travels the country's seediest washrooms in search of electric hand dryers to film. I love this.

A lot of people are incapable of imagining that anything could be different outside their experience

Google anti adblock measures have doing partial rollouts for awhile now. Like Google will do some anti adblock rollout that will only target a few users then Google goes quiet and does more testing before another partial rollout

But average "power user" that knows how to click thing will constantly remind you that it works him

>Note that there's no such thing as a class or object in Julia. However, there are types and instances of those types.

Julia is really neat. It would be a perfect language if they had used s-expressions as syntax instead of the stupid, retarded Python-like syntax. This would also enable easy, effortless macros.

>>107586517

nil errors and unwrap errors are both logic errors. there's no helping logic errors with programming semantics, it's a pure skill issue. you can move shit around but you will not be transmuting lead to gold.
>>107583771
because they were coding with tranny best practices instead of programming for high availability systems. just another garbage startup propped up by glowniggers

None. It was a logic error.

Ones with better and more responsible culture, alongside better technology.

Any successor languages to C++ and Rust should probably not only be an improvement technically, but also culturally. But this might be easier than first apparent, since Rust has extreme technical skeletons hidden in its closet, and that almost certainly makes a huge, negative difference.

zig and tiger style would have won
>>
>>107588090
Zig is interesting, but I am confused about some aspects, and I also have some worries.

I don't understand how Zig has interoperability with C and C++ to some degrees.
Zig website:
>Use Zig as a zero-dependency, drop-in C/C++ compiler that supports cross-compilation out-of-the-box.
Is it due to Zig's usage of LLVM? If so, as I understand it, Zig plans to move away from LLVM. If Zig moves away from LLVM, will that C/C++ support also decrease or something? Is it just a specific toolchain that supports it, not anything mandated by the language?

Zig has not reached 1.0, that will likely come, however. I know too little of Zig's progresss.

I know too little about Zig's specification goals, nor if there are goals of having multiple compilers, for instance having Zig support in GCC, or allowing for multiple competing compilers/interpreters.

The approach to abstractions is interesting.

Zig may not have many features beyond comptime, which has advantages and disadvantages. Though I could be mistaken about this.
