Proton mail's + trick has suddenly died in the last 24 hours. Are there any good alternatives? >email@provider.com becomes email+randomword@provider.com to look like a new email and make a new account with something that gives a free trial/referral credits.

Everyone please congratulate our friends at github for finally achieving ZERO NINES of availability!

I'm sure it wasn't an easy road to get there, having only billions of dollars to run their website and all, but they've finally managed to set a new benchmark for enterprise software uptime! Congratulations!
>>
why do you need uptime for a decentralized system? just continue developing locally and push when it's up again

My passwords are written down with pen and paper, the notebook stored with all my other books. And my house is under my protection (and a 10 gauge). The safest password manager you can get.

I seriously considered Xperia but their phones only support 3 Android upgrades, against Samsung's 7. I'm not an updooter, but I also know how it feels to lose access to apps on old devices. The tablet I'm using right now is from 2015 and every other basic ass app is not available on it.

How did people get psyoped into the advanced humiliation ritual that is the hiring process?
Surely AI will fix this right?
>>
It ironically might. The problem with jobs and society is that they are full of fuckheads who only talent is by being a backstabbing corporate ladder climbing sociopaths who only can get their rocks off by hurting others. If they do this to you, you need to tell them to fuck off. Yeah they will fire you in a week but it will catch them off guard and scares the shit out of them, but they need to learn their lesson. They need HR and management jobs to stay survive because they have zero skills and will tank any project if the company had to rely on their skill.

The good people with skills and honor can use AI as a extra helper and cut out the need to have middle management and HR middleman, because then you wouldn't have to hire dozens of third world code monkeys. Instead super autists and his AI gf can create their own competition software.
>>
>>108508504
its origins can be placed in the early to mid 19th century upon the debates between wages and chattel slaveries. Prior to the hiring process, slaves were sold at auction, the hiring process emerged as slaves now needed to sell themselves. Its aggregious as the bargining power of the employer grossely outmatches the employee, unfortunately digital media did little to help the collective bargining agreement due to mass deployment of containment control algoritms and d&c propaganda campgains.

silver lining is these jobs pay have gotten low key competitive to alpine foraging, so they wont be able to abuse their position next to the printer for much longer

Is there existing documentation for porting/reprogramming a sysyemd daemon as an openrc-daemon? I know to replace systemctl with rc-service, .service enable/disable with start and stop, and to program an openrc init script. But I'm curious if other idiosyncrasies exist which I'm missing.
I know there's automated scripts like openrc.run, but I need to reformat a whole git repo with thousands of LoC, and that rests deep within ring 0. So I'd really rather do it manually.

>throwing you into a dark cell and not let you out until you tell them the password
NTA but that might be preferable to getting the contents leaked.
How long will they be able to keep him imprisoned? What reason do they have to go to such lengths in the first place?
Either anon's encrypted lolis/furries don't matter, so they let him go, or anon has something way more important than lolis/furries, so it doesn't matter if he gets thrown into a dark cell.

Transport is actually the thing that got me wanting to do this in the first place. At some point I'm going to need to ship this whole set up internationally. I don't want all of my files to be accessible to border agents. They won't be putting me in a dark cell or anything like that because they won't be seeking out things on my hard drive for any legal reasons. It is to protect from any incidental things they might find during a random or routine inspection or things they might retain as part of some database that it's better they don't have.
There's nothing on there that would really be an issue in a legal sense anyway, unless they wanted to pick me up on minor stuff like piracy, but since I find this stuff interesting I wanted to learn how to do it.
It' also about some documents I have which are not strictly classified or anything, but also not things the people who wrote those documents want widely spread around to foreign powers. Some of my colleagues have been stopped at borders and asked to unlock laptops even by allied countries.
I figured you probably didn't know the answer to my question. This kind of thing is why people don't like XY discussion.
>>108510803

They won't be putting me in prison for anything on my machine even if they had full access, but yes if I were in that situation, I would like the decision about whether I disclose it or not - and the consequences of that decision - be mine to make.

Friend thinks he's some kind of genius which he's not, he's great at producing in-depth videos on tech/electrical stuff that you don't mind wasting 30-60 mins watching without it becoming boring or annoying.

Old YouTube gave people like him and others like Vertasium a platform to perfect their art but I fear YT has been so sterilised and censored that it'll no longer be the case.

8W idle vs <1W idle is still negligible on your electricity bills when running it 24/7. Especially if you daily a full-size rig that pulls way more on idle, not to mention shit like your fridge.
