I don't really follow marketing crap. I always used VSR for games, specially older ones, even before AMD and Nvidia officially supported it.
Just something I noticed using DLDSR playing older games.

Linux has more eploits checked into it by goverments worldwide than either simply because that is easier to do with Linux. Pretty obvious when you stop and think about it. No being open source does not mean that anyone spots them. Most are only active in very limited conditions that the only the people who check them in know.

It's time to mobilize and make sure the Apple Board of Directors know we want Craig Federighi as the next CEO of Apple. Tim Cook is stepping down latter this year.

IOS/Mac OS 26 has been a flop; Apple's software is stale. Apple needs an engineer as it's CEO; Apple can save consumer software and make it exciting again. Craig is eccentric and exciting just like Steve Jobs was.

Don't put a soulless MBA bean counter as Apple's next CEO that will shove LLMs down our throats.

I am jealous. I don't know what I would use one for as the only BBS I connect to is over SSH/telnet but having copper to the phone company is awesome.

You should set up a BBS anon. I know dialup over VoIP is spotty but it can be done and I would love the chance to connect to your setup over a telephone line.

Kino choice on NetBSD as well. I have a Power PC Mac Mini with NetBSD that is my Gopher server and I have found it to be a wonderful OS. It is a bit stuck in time but in a good way. It feels like how a *nix machine should feel.
>>
>>107856744
I agree. NetBSD is really cool, and unlike the other BSDs, it has relatively sensible defaults, not being obsessed with security or keeping up with Linux, or whatever.

How come my LED light bulb dies after turning on 50k times but the LED on a LAN port blinks 5 times per second for 30 years?

Joke's on (((them))), I *DO* remember where I bought it, and keep the invoice, so I have infinite free replacements, since each swap resets the warranty period under EU law.
This is what (((they))) get for forcing me into an inferior product.

Indicator LED are being used well within spec and have very little strain on them.
LED bulbs are being grilled alive, pushed as hard as possible because the manufacturer is cheaping out and using as few as possible.
There actually are long lasting LED lights, most notably in Dubai where the leaders strongarmed manufacturers into making them more energy efficient. Pic related, see how many LED strips are in them compared to the usual 2 to 4 from elsewhere.
>>
>>107855589
Because the light bulb has multiple failure modes that are each more likely than the RJ45 jack LED failing. The power supply can fail. More importantly, many inexpensive bulbs use fewer LEDs and drive them harder rather than using more LEDs and driving them less hard. This makes them less efficient, which generates more heat. This heat then decreases the lifespan of both the LEDs and the power supply.

It's great. It has a ton of packages compared with Arch's official repository and it's easy to build things from source if needed. I don't need their community so it's not a problem. Services are also simple enough for LLMs to make for you from systemd service information. I've been on it for nearly a decade with almost zero issues. It's the "endgame" for me.
>>
>>107856384
I'm using it for more than a decade now.
The only thing I'm missing is more optimized packages: x86_64_v3, LTO, PBO would be great.

>>
>>107858137
>Your phone is always on and traceable, even if it's off
This is most likely false. You can build a lectenna very easily. It's just an LED and the right sort of diode wired in parallel, with the legs spread apart. The long stick formed by the legs acts as an antenna that picks up enough power from a nearby phone's signal to blink the LED whenever the phone transmits. It's something the phone can't bypass since it's just picking up the transmitted signal itself and running off that.
